I've been enjoy doing these simple shading commissions a lot!! As I'm working on these pieces, I focus on:
- essential shadows, those which can define shapes better
- highlights to create a nice atmosphere
- the juicy, extra details which make the piece look interesting!
There's still soo much more I want to experiment with but I feel this is a good direction!

Process of the latest illustration! There's not much to note about this, it went pretty smoothly!
Only thing to point out is maybe that not until the very last step I've realized Zhongli eye was too white - even if his iris is shiny. Being so white in a shadowy area made it stand out too much!

I always enjoy revisiting ships I haven't drawn in a while or explore something new! Last ZhongXiao I had done has been a commission in 2021... I was undecided between them or VenXiao, they'll get another chance! Both ships were inspired by the Lanter Rite... it ended so fast, my pretty Baizhu disappered ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ (...but he's coming back soon and permanently, right, Hoyo? ๐๐)

I had fun bringing Heizou in, I like his personality and (kinky) design and the ship between him and Itto grew on me after his hangout and even more after the Yokai event... which also made canonically meet Itto and Gorou giving me an endless amount of brain worms aaaah!!

This has been so much satisfying to color! I feel like this is the first time I manage to use simple shading for such an effective result and it encourages me to draw more in this styleโ I still did some rendering (which made a huge difference on the final result) but only where needed, I didn't overdo (for once!! I did it!!)

I'm having so much fun with this new color style I've developed lately! It's not obsessively rendered but it creates an atmosphere pretty nicely, and at the end you can render just as much as you want, with freedom to stop at every step!

Given the prompt from the commissioner, I wanted to draw it with an angle and pose that imply that they're still "fighting", and I had so much fun at it! Because of the perspective, the angle has been quite challenging, but I managed to fix it and I've learned a lot!
