Every SFW piece is a challenge I enjoy from beginning to the end - with the Ayato illustration the struggle has been the tattoo, here I've spent most of the time testing lights! I had been struggling with my feelings towards art lately, for some time the process had been a pain which took away all the joy I used to get from creating. I couldn't picture the shapes I was tracing, nor vibe with the character - I used to read emotions in my lineart, but I had been seeing just lines, empty shells...
This drawing is probably the one which made me snap out of it. I've enjoyed the challenge of putting strong emotions in a sfw piece, while completely shifting the effort...

My fav thing about this is Dom Benny pulling Itto down at his eye level with the leash to make him lick his thumb... he gotta clean up everything with the toungue π₯΅π₯΅π₯΅

In the last process post (>THIS ONE) I had talked about how in March I've been experimenting to find a style in between the flat colors one and the digital painting one. I also mentioned that I tried to apply that style to illustrations with a background, but my hand slipped and I ended up rendering almost as much as I do in digital paintings... except that rendering while keeping layers separate is extra painfu...
