Hera and Bonnie ended up sleeping really late. After getting all the information about their possible members of the Court of Heroes, the two of them started to dig deeper into everything they had about their respective leads. Ninleyn and Helena helped them for a while, and they also showed them how to add any information they found out to the order database. It was pretty straightforward. All they had to do was edit the page with the new data and the necessary connections to other pages. For...

Ninleyn and Helena had left the table, leaving the tablet behind with the four holographic paper sheets there. Hera and Bonnie were staring at the pictures for a few minutes, trying to organize their thoughts before speaking them out loud.
All those possible powers seemed interesting to Hera, even if they didn't have much information about what each would do. Having the out-of-focus sword that allowed someone to be as effective as a mage in large-scale battles should also mean that you ...

Before Ninleyn could talk about the clues he had available, Blue and Alex returned, making the group take a small break. They had brought food for everyone, a few buckets of fried chicken and some fried rice, along with some salad for the elf. Despite having some light snacks in the dining room, the food was more than welcome.
Everyone gathered in the new dining room and had a pleasant meal while chatting. Helena had to push the chicken away from Ninleyn a couple of times since the lead...

"I assume you all still remember what I told you about the lost court the last time I came here, but, if you don't mind, I'll explain this all again. With more details this time," Ninleyn cleared his throat, "On ancient times, and I do mean ancient, the MAZE was filled with more races and more civilizations than we have around today. Not to say that those civilizations were weak or frail, but they perished for one reason or another. The biggest issue is that we know incredibly little about wh...

"Hey, Leo just sent me a text!" Hera turned to Blue.
"Really? What's going on with him?" Blue asked.
"Apparently, he spent the last three months on a special training session where he couldn't contact anyone. He's doing well and asked if he could come here in a week or two. He has some stuff to tell us about and wants to see us. He also said that he's really glad we are back," Hera explained while preparing some tea.
They were already back to Boothudurn. Returning from the W...

When they all woke up, the first thing the group decided to do was to check the area right outside the tomb. They wanted to be sure that a certain horde of monsters wasn't still in the passage or if there was something bad happening outside. Hera and Silah slowly opened the entrance and allowed Alex to sneak out. She was the best one to go unnoticed.
The assassin took a few steps to the middle of the valley. Looking around, she noticed that there didn't seem to be any monsters around. E...

Hera and Shane walked back to the center of the tomb, where the stone coffin and the spiral ramp were located. As per Shane's request, Hera also activated the soundproof bubble before sitting down by the side of the entrance.
"So, what do you want to talk about?"
"Well…" Shane scratched her head, "First of all, I'm sorry for what happened back there. This really wasn't how I wanted things to go."
"Shane, we already had this conversation. I'm fine, I didn't like what you di...

For around 3 hours, the group talked. Shane apologized for how she acted in front of the door, but her words did little to convince the others. What she said were more excuses and attempts to justify her actions than an actual apology. Blue said that she was fine, but Hera could tell that she wasn't being honest. If Shane was someone from the party or someone that Blue already knew for a while, things could be different, but she wasn't going to bother trying to get along with Shane after that...

"By the way, was there a projection in the yellow room too?" Hera asked.
"Yeah, the four naga showed up, did that greeting waving their hands, and then just the yellow one stayed. They talked for a while, gestured towards the racks of scrolls, then drew a spell circle in the air before vanishing. We took a page of Alex's idea and recorded the whole thing," Bonnie replied.
"Then Bonnie made us take pictures of every page of those tomes. It was more boring than doing a school projec...

"The legacy is in that door?" Bonnie asked.
"Yep, I got a message pop out asking if I want to start the legacy trail," Shane said.
"Really? Let me see," Blue walked over, but Shane stopped her.
"What do you thinking you are doing?"
"I'm going to see the message," Blue replied with a confused expression.
"The hell you are. This is my legacy. I'm not going to let anyone try to steal it," Shane scoffed.

The group prepared to defend against any incoming attacks. Whatever the naga said didn't sound like a friendly greeting, and having the door lock behind them wasn't a good sign. For a full minute, the group just stood there, waiting for something to happen while looking for any signs of what was about to come. Another minute passed in complete silence, the naga still staring at the group without showing any signs of a response.
"Hello?" Shane asked, but there was no response.

Shane was the first to get close to the entrance of the tomb. Before heading inside, she wanted to be sure that there wouldn't be any traps or any writing on the statues or the door. If this really was the location of the legacy she was after, she didn't want to miss anything. The rest of the party joined to help, but they couldn't find anything on the front of the structure.
Hera couldn't help but stare at the statues around the main entrance. The naga had such a serene and warm expres...

"So? How is it going?" Shane asked Hera for the 5th time in 20 minutes.
"It's not. Maybe I can figure this out if I'm not interrupted every two minutes," Hera huffed.
"Oh, sorry, it's just…."
"Just that you are excited, and you want to get your legacy. Yeah, you told me that five times already. Look, just because I'm a conceptual mage doesn't mean I can just think about a spell, and it works. It takes time. I told you that I'm not even sure I can make this thing work, and ...

The group checked the area past the statue, just to be sure that there wouldn't be any unwelcome surprises. Luckily, after the statute, there weren't any more tombs or any buildings. It was odd since the last crypt seemed to be for the first emperor of the naga, but yet, it was like this place still had space for new structures.
Hera kept wondering if they had messed up the order. Maybe that naga with a pompous look would be the first emperor, or perhaps the naga had some way to shift t...

While Silah was gathering what she could from the Golden Scarab's body, the rest of the team was looking at the massive statue. Besides that, there was a pearl white gate and another statue of the same naga in an even more obnoxious pose. Whoever was the owner of this tomb clearly had an ego.
"Before going there and checking what else is in here. Can we double-check if there aren't any more monsters in the passage?" Bonnie asked.
"That's a good idea. I don't see that spider ...

"Keep running! I can see the path getting really narrow up ahead," Helena yelled. She was using one of her spells to have a lesser version of night visions googles. Unfortunately, the visor the group had didn't have that function, so they had to depend on spells. Despite being a shadow mage, Helena's spells weren't that great at seeing in the darkness. She could see, at most, a couple of hundred meters ahead.
Everyone was getting tired, they were running for about 15 minutes alrea...

Even if the crypts on the upper floor were well made and had the statues, the ones in here were on another level. Each tomb was like the entrance of a palace. Gold statues adorned the gates, and gem-encrusted doors were lining all the walls of the valley. Just a small flame was enough to make the light bounce off for a while, showing that most of the valley was covered in those decorations. This also helped the group to see monsters from far away. There were a number of spiders and scarabs ar...

The passage leading outside the hidden crypt was longer than Hera expected. Not just that, but there were several walls made out of that weird stone that she couldn't move, blocking segments of the corridor. Silah had made a path going around each of those rocks. She had to dig deep into the walls of the crypt and even be careful not to mess too much with the structure of the area, but she had managed to reach the ending. However, she didn't open the last part of the passage just yet. Everyon...

Anyway, Monday we should be back on track and I want to make a couple of extra chapters to make up for the one I missed. Thanks for the understanding and for all the support!

Hey everyone. Sorry for the delay again. I ended up getting worse yesterday and couldn't finish the chapter on time.
About tomorrow's chapter. It will still come out tomorrow. However, there is a chance that it will come later than usual, like in the last two chapters.
I'm really sorry about all this, but I'm prioritizing getting better, and I don't want to kill myself just to meet a schedule that can be changed.
If everything goes...

Hey everyone! I'm sorry for the delay in posting this chapter. Since last week I'm not feeling very well. I ended up going to the doctor on Sunday and got some meds that really knocked me out.
I woke up this morning thinking it was Tuesday, lol.
I'm still not feeling all that well, but I'm steadily improving, and I hope I'll be fine by the end of the week.
I believe that this will be the last hiccup with posting because of thi...

Shane spent a few hours translating the writing in every mausoleum they found. This was all in hopes of finding something connected to the court. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Everything she managed to translate was either the names of the naga who were laid to rest there or small messages, presumably from their loved ones. The naga seemed to have an interesting custom. Most writings were almost like passages in a diary. Mostly small things like how life treated them or how a festival ha...

"Isn't that just a rock that fell in?" Alex asked.
"No, look. That's the head, that's the tail, and those are the small limbs," Blue pointed the parts to the group.
"I guess you're right. But I didn't know they got that big," Shane was looking at the corpse. The roly-poly was much bigger than any monster they had seen so far. One of those should be enough food for five ...

Having an idea of where they could find the ruins, the group headed towards the chasm they had found a few days ago. The rock staircase made by Hera, Silah, and Bonnie was still there. In fact, it was even better than before. Every time they walked through it, they would improve the structure a little. At first, it was just some railing, but then they made the stairwell wider, and Silah even added some decorations and a pattern on each step. They already had let the guild know about that path...

Hera sat down, ready to call the guide of the Wailing Caverns to help her, when she realized one thing. She had no idea what was the name of the place they were searching for. Ruins were just too generic. What if there was something else that could be considered a ruin in this room? She pulled up her tablet and sent a message to Shane, asking about the name or any other identifying trait that the place they were searching for had. A minute went by, and there was no response. Shane didn't even...

Hello, everybody.
Like the title says, today's chapter will be delayed to Wednesday. I'm really sorry about that.
During the weekend, I got food poisoning, and between going to the doctor, sleeping with my head in the toilet, and not eating since Friday evening, I couldn't finish the chapter.
Chapter 316 will go up on Wednesday at the regularly scheduled time (10 A.M GMT-3 or 6 A.M Pacific Time), and I intend to post two 'extra' chapters outside the usual days I publi...

Before heading into that new area of the room, the group decided to go back to the outpost and rest. In fact, instead of staying in the Wailing Valley, they returned to the Forest of Dreams since they still could cross the doorway. That way, everyone would have a nice comfortable bed and a hot shower before resting. Another benefit of that was the access to supplies. Most general stores inside the MAZE also had some climbing supplies, even in rooms with no mountains. It wasn't rare to find a ...

"Ok, so they fight for about 30 minutes, then they split off and go back for an hour or so, but some of the monsters are staying back even during the break. It seems like they are posturing and just roaring at each other. Another odd thing is that they are not killing. They hurt each other really badly but never deal the finishing blow," Bonnie explained after checking the information she had written do...

The first thing Hera noticed about the Wailing Valley was the temperature. After being bathed in familiar warmth from the transfer, the feeling broke away to be replaced by a dry and scorching heat. Even if they were under the shade, it wasn't enough to give them some reprieve. The next thing Hera noticed was how the surrounding area felt odd in comparison with the temperature. The place was dark, almost as dark as a cave. Looking up, Hera could see she was at the bottom of a massive ravine t...
