Peach and Daisy Marathon Week: Day 7

It's been a WEEK and our boys are almost done! Honestly, the pants dominated most of the week, but the bodice should come together fairly quickly!

I started the day by finishing up my center panel. I sewed lace alone the gathering stitches and at the top of the gathers, then began working on my sleeves.

The sleeves have been.... a bit of a nightmare. Patterning them wasn't easy or fun for either of us, lol. Making the scalloped trim for them was, though! I think they look SO. CU...

Peach And Daisy Marathon Week: Day 6

Yesterday was full of difficulties once again. The sleeve pattern we though we had, we did not have. We drafted 3 sleeves, none of which we liked the fit or shape of. After hitting a wall and taking a break for a bit, we went back into the studio and I began draping a new sleeve. We finally came up with something we both liked.

We also began working on the center panels of the bodice. First, we cut a square 3 times the side of the panel, drew 3 horizontal lines on it, and sewed 2 gathe...

Peach and Daisy Marathon Week: Day 5

Not a lot to write about for day 5. We didn't get a whole lot of time to work on them. We did completely finish off the shorts, though.

First, we had to pin the panels to the top and bottom of the shorts. After a bit of finessing and fiddling, we got the panels spaced how we wanted and began to hand sew the panels to the top and bottom of the shorts. After hand basting them, we sent them through the machines to do a second basting stitch. Then we sewed the bottom of the outside of the ...

Peach and Daisy Marathon Week: Day 4

THE PUFF PANTS ARE FINALLY DONE. KIND OF. We still need to baste the panels, sew on the leg bands and waist band, and see in the zippers. But we can finally actually see what the outcome will look like.

We started the day picking out which lace trim we wanted to use on the leg bands. Peach and Daisy have scalloped lace all over their dresses, so we bought quite a bit of scalloped lace. Which the leg bands will hardly be visible, I think they turned out precious. We added elastic to the...

Peach and Daisy Marathin Week: Day 3

I apologize for the delay in this post. Yesterday was a bit of a disaster and we ended pretty late. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong.

The first big disaster of the day happened when we realized the massive panels for our puff pants were cut out wrong. Two inches were supposed to be added to the top. We Do not have enough fabric to recut them, so we were a mess trying to figure out solutions. Eventually, we decided to just sew on a strip ofntwo extra inches at the top and just...

Peach And Daisy Marathon Week: Day 2!

Most of today was working on the underlayment. Not a lot of exciting stuff to show for it, but we got a LOT done.

First, we finished the under blouse by using an awl to work holes between the fibers in the back and hammered eyelets in which took so so long. Then we were finally able to lace them up!

Next, we moved on to the puffy pants. We started by using a combination of flat patterning and draping to pattern the panels. Then, we began the looooong process of gathering yards u...

Peach And Daisy Marathon Week: Day One

WOWEEEE IM SO HAPPY TO BE WORKING ON THESE BOYS FULL FORCE!!!!!

Today we worked on the under piece. It's kind of like a corset? It's main purpose is structure. It zips up the front and laces up the back.

The first thing I started my day with was making the last little alterations I needed for it to fit me perfectly. After taking in the side back side seems an 8th of an inch which took a total of a half inch out of the waist I was ready to move onto the boning.

Snow's Vest

Hello! So... I realize it's um... a few hours before the end of the month. I'm so sorry for the radio silence most of the month. I found out earlier this month I might have cancer and waiting for all the testing and scans and screenings and bla bla bla that I have scheduled has been... difficult. I've been struggling with my mental health A LOT through it all. Needless to say, i haven't been handling it too well and part of that has translated into not being very active online. I should have ...

Tighnari Wig and Ears

In honor of some new in-game sneak peaks of THE BOY, let's break down how I made his wig and ears!

I started by upcycling a wig from 12 years ago. I cut the wig roughly a little shorter than Tighnari's hair. To begin the dying process. I boiled a large pot of water in a stainless steal pan, fulled a tub of cool water, and laid stained old towels around to catch any drips. I added a pinch of salt to the boiling water then began to add my dye in small amounts. I took some of the exce...

Aster: Part 2

OKAY IM FINALLY BACK WITH PART TWO!!! Thank you all so much for your patience and support 🙏 💖 I'm still getting settled in Orlando and my life has been absolute chaos but I have the rest of my Aster progress for yall and I have my Tighnari ear breakdown and pattern coming probably tomorrow!

Making the pants was pretty simple. I used a pattern by Toriander_c for no-front-seam leggings and shortened them. I cut two strips out of the sides and patterned in the gold stripes on ...

Durring the hecticness of packing and planning, I threw together this Aster cosplay from Nu Carnival to escape the stress of reality which some of you may have partially seen on instagram. Here's the nitty gritty of it all!

To start, I used 3 paterns for Aster's blouse. For the bodice and right sleeve, i used Simp...

Misadventures in Prop Making

This was my very first time attempting to make a 3d printed prop. I have little to no experience in prop making, so this was UNFAMILIAR WATERS for me for SURE. To say I struggled was a massive understatement. I'm not the most upset with how it turned out but I'm definitely not the most proud either. I made so many many many mistakes and now I'm going to tell you about them in detail! Maybe you can avoid some of the dumb things I did.

First of all, it's impottant I make it clear that i ...

Gorou is FINALLY (Kinda) done!!!! We got lots of nice photos yesterday but this one shows off the costume the most so I wanted to show it to yall first! There are still some little things I need to finish up before my next photoshoot, but it's still pretty surreal that he is even wearable. I'm over the moon and I can't wait to get the rest of my photos back from my phot...

Gorou's Gloves

So this was my very first time ever making REAL gloves with forcettes (the little pieces of fabric on the sides of the fingers) and it was SUCH a massive challenge!

I started with Toriander_c 's glove pattern included in her Angel Crown Sakura pattern that you can find on her etsy. It is SO extremely important to cut out every piece as EXACT as possible and to make and label EVERY mark. It's also VERY important to constantly make sure you're not accidently making the same glove twice ...

Gorou's Undershirt

I made a whole lot of progress on Gorou this month, but I've been pretty bad about making posts about it so I hope yall don't mind being spammed over the next few dayssss

So this shirt. Hooooo boy. Where do I begin...

I started with a basic bodysuit pattern that I cropped at the waist. Once i made the adjustments to fit it to me just right, I started to map put the style lines with a marker.

The figured the sleeve was going to be the most difficult part. Crazy how when ...

Gorou's Archer Sleeve

Boy howdy, was this a hell of a process.

So first I had to dye the fabric. The chest part of the sleeve is a dark teal and the sleeve is a gradient from the teal on the rest of his outfit to the dark teal. I only had a very limited amount of teal fabric which I ALREADY custom dyed, so there was a BIG amount of stress durring the dying process. I'm pretty dang happy with the results, though!

I threw together a sleeve and part of a chest from two existing patterns and modified the...

Gorou... butt plate?

Uhhh yeah here's this piece!! This piece is bigger than an 8.5 by 11 piece of paper so you'll have to either print it on a printer that can tile or tile it in a program.

View Post

Gorou's Front Plate

Uh idk what to name this piece nor do I know what the official name for this type of armor piece after a considerable amount of googling. The closest I could find was Kusazuri which is usually an entire skirt made of these plates so.... yeah front plate it is. Anyway! Here is the PDF download

Please print at 100% scale! This pattern allows for a 1/2 inch margin. If you scale to fit paper, you're gonna have a massive pattern.

Gorou's Pant Accessories

Part of what makes Gorou such a complicated and difficult boy his gratuitous amount of layered accessories. I didn't think it was possible to have so many things tied around a waist and yet here we are (and I'm still missing the white wrappings of his undergarments)

First, I had to make his ropes. To Do this, I made tubes of fabric, turned them right side out with a tool called a fast turn, pulled cotton piping filler cord through using the tool, and then sewed off the ends. I twisted...
