This scene is in the bar where Billy and Teddy started knowing each other. They didn't know the other's social class, but they simply got atracted by their liking to books. (I have a reason for Teddy not being illiterate, I will tell that later).

I wanted to try with a different alternative universe...this time I thought about the 1920's. I imagine Billy coming from a bourgeois family (Manhattan) and Teddy from a working class family (Brooklyn), they know each other in a hidden gay bar in the city. I'm sorry I'm not very aware of NY history, but with a bit of fantasy it wouldn't be bad.
