Art Nouveau Nudes: Adult Coloring Book Page 14

To change things up in the book ,so it wasn't all full body shots, I did some close ups as well. The lines ended up a little thick to make it look more detailed, but I don't think it's too bad for a coloring book.

I sold a thing! I sold a thing!

Captain T and the Search for King Ollie's Gold (both pictured here) is a story I've been working on for a long time and I sold the distribution rights to Keenspot.com. Which means after 20 some odd years of drawing, printing, making comics, going for school for it, I've finally made it from Keenspace to Keenspot. We're going to change the title to something else, but I am basically given the go ahead to start making this comic for realsies, to be released both as a webcomic and a floppy comic...

Art Nouveau Nudes: Adult Coloring Book Page 13

This was the first page that was published in the book, but one of the last ones I finished.

Technically, a bonus page, because this one didn't make the cut for the original book. this one is going to be in my next coloring book though because I like the design.

My partner and love is a butt man. I included a few "behind," shots for him. This page does have a very light grey outline for some of the upper flowers because when it was all black the area was too busy. I like the oranges.

There were two versions of this page. The first one had all black leaves. I realized I needed to give people something to color besides the flower petals and the girl. I had posted about this one before, but now you can see it in context.

I like the balance of this page. The linework is nice and thick without being out of balance.

Art Nouveau Nudes: Adult Coloring Book Page 8

The border for this page is very thick. I debated making it empty, but the page felt too open without the balance of some black in it.

I thought this one was a very elegant design. To me, it looks like a perfume ad.

Art Nouveau Nudes: Adult Coloring Book Page 6

This one is very sparse on flowers. I debated adding a flower design to the back but felt I would lose the forward flowers a little too much so I left it out. To my eye, it still looks very empty.

Those pumpkins are super detailed compared to that stylistic tree.

Art Nouveau Nudes: Adult Coloring Book Page 4

This one I had to work back into with white as I had made the shadows all black originally. It's still a little heavy in the linework, but only to my eye.

This is the cover for the book and my favorite page out of the whole book. I just really like the way her hair and face turned out.

I'll be streaming in about 30 minutes. See you then!

This is the only one in the whole book that has a grey layer in it. I wasn't sure how that would be received so I chose to disclude it from the rest of the book.

I have a confession to make. I have scraped my digital archive barrel almost clean. I do have a fairly large paper archive, but it's going to take time and money to get it all scanned in. In the meantime, while I do that, enjoy the pages of my coloring book!

Children's Book Character Roughs

I'm working on a children's book about the Amazon. The writer has decided to go with a less realistic style than what I presented him, so these are the next batch for approval.

Monet's Garden

I have never been to Normandy, France. But a friend of mine did go and brought me back a slew of photos. This was based on one of those photos. It was painting at 4"X3.5"

Here is another attempt of me trying to figure out the visual style for Captain T.

The Thing Painting

The Thing is one of the greatest horror movies ever made. It's scary, the SFX still holds up today (because they are practical), and it can be interpreted that the Thing is just scared and wants to go home and that WE are the monsters.

Terminator Painting

This one was fun to paint. When I paint, I try to break things up into shapes in my mind. Okay, this is a circle that is connected to a long rod that bends here. That kind of thinking. With this painting, I was working on the detail in his shoulders and refining, and refining and it was like I added the little white highlights and it suddenly clicked as metal.

Dracula in 3D

This painting was purposefully done in blue and red because that's how old 3D movies used to work. The effect was better with black and white movies due to the brains nature of "making visual stimuli work." I remember seeing Dracula in 3D when I was young and this is kind of what he looked like to me.

Melting Clock

This painting comes from a photo I saw of a burned down school in Detroit, MI. This was one of the school clocks that almost survived.
