Melonpool Guest Week

When I drew this guest week, I delivered 8 comics instead of 7, which surprised Troop.

Melonpool Guest Week

He looks so defeated in the last panel.

The proportions are a little off for Ralph in this comic, but interesting timing for the comic.

Melonpool Guest Week

Steve Troop doesn't draw a lot of perspective in his comics, but I like the dynamic angles. I remember comments on the page when I posted this comic liked the perspective and encouraged Troop to draw more realistic backgrounds. I don't think he ever did.

January Prompts!

I made prompt lists today going all the way into June of 2022. Going backwards through the years and yoinking the Inktober lists from years past, I find that it only started in 2016, which ONLY brings us to March. April was generated with 52prompts.com, but they only have 52. May and June were generated with randomwordgenerator.com which gave me a much better result. I'll make more prompts in the coming months, but for now these are some pretty good lists. Prompts are posted every day if you'...

Melonpool Guest Week

I really like the pictorgram writing that the cat does throughout this comic. I had a great time writing her.  I'm going to have Captain T talk like this in comics.

Never anger a talking dog. I like the dripping word balloon in panel 3.

I really am not a fan of the hand-lettering I did in these comics, but I like the art.

Melonpool Guest Week

This was published in the 3rd Melonpool book back in 2003 or so. It was a guest week I did for the comic. Its format was set up like a newspaper comic strip, so I'm going to upload it this week like it was originally posted. Enjoy! You can check out the comic today at www.melonpool.com

No Stereotypes in color!

Here's an old colored piece I did as a test for No Stereotypes way back in the day.

Coloring Book Notes Page

I feel like I have to justify why I did a book of nude women as an adult coloring book. So I included a notes page in the book. Proof-read it for me, see if there are any typos I missed. Thanks!

Narbonic Art

Narbonic.com is a comic written and drawn by the ever talented Sheanon Garrity. This was a piece I did for a joke in her comic many moons ago, but it still makes me laugh.

Coloring Book Cover

I'm still building my coloring book, but wanted to share the cover. It should be available shortly. As soon as I have it ready to sell, Patrons will have a special promo code to get a discount on the book.

College House

Wow. It was like living in a Frat house. I don't remember the captions that went with this page. These are cartoon versions of my roommates my first year of college.

Skeleton Pony Rider

This was one of the first watercolor pieces I did back in 2011 or so. I did it as a gift for my father, but I don't know where the original ended up. He had died recently and I didn't find this drawing amongst his things.

Deadpool Commission

This was a commission I did back in 2019 of Deadpool for a longtime friend. Note the photo of Spider-Man, the sunflowers, the cats, shield, fir rug, fireplace, hammer, and tiny unicorn. All commissioned.

This is one of the first acrylic paintings I ever did way back in 2002. I'vbe grown a lot as a painter since then.

4-armed Janis Joplin

This was one of the only paintings I sold while I was in school at MCAD. I painted it over 3 days and I still love the energy. But she didn't really play the guitar so...

Cowboy sketch

I'm trying to figure out how to do this comic digitally, but still give it the life of something done by hand.

Bodie Troll Sketches

Bodie Troll is a character created by my friend and fellow comic creator Jay Fosgitt. It's an amazing comic and a fun character to draw.

Captain T is coming.

This is just a sketch. I'm still trying to figure out the style for the character.

Night Lights

We glide asunder,

Aside and wonder,

While we hide from slumber

With devices under

Covers, quilts, and comfort.

Little screens,

Our attention gleens,

From tiny things,

A friend's thought string,

Under our fort.

Like children, we peel away

Slivers of the night,

With light.

And read a line at a time,

(That sometimes rhyme).

When rest is what we need.

Steep, deep, without a peep,

Our eyes closed,...

Comic Portfolio (2001)

This was the portfolio that got me hired by Archie to work on Sonic the Hedgehog. I remember working on it before I graduated high school in the art room there. And my teacher told me I was wasting my time.  I've included some of the unlettered pages to show off some of the artwork.

Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Pitch Art WIP(2003)

Once upon a time Archie comics had the license for Sonic the Hedgehog. I was Ken Pender's assistant at the time and Sega Entertainment asked him for a pitch for a Sonic the Hedgehog movie. I colored all of the pitch art that Ken drew. We started with the lineart (pictured) and I included a few of the steps along the way, because each step had to be approved by Archie, Sega, and the animation studio Sega was going to hire to animate the movie. This was going to be a hand-drawn film that never ...

NonPersons Part 1 (2005)

This comic was originally published on the webcomic site GraphicSmash.com but was hidden behind a pay-wall then. While Patreon has a similar pay model I think it's about time to let people read the comic for free. The other post today (that is for Patrons) is more NonPersons fun. Comment if you want me to finish the story.

NonPersons WIP

These are some sample comics from my first attempt to draw this story way back when I was about 18 in 1999 (the colored pages). The other pages were the start of part 2 of the story but I never was able to finish it before Graphicsmash.com went under. If you want me to finish the story comment and let me know!

Red Dahlia (2004) writings and sketches

I attended Mt. San Jacinto college when I first graduated from high school. Hannah was a girl in one of my classes. The false idol was drawn the first time I ever tried magic mushrooms (way back in 2004). The writings are me trying to figure out how the Monstrum work in Red Dahlia's world.

Red Dahlia Sketches (2004)

That old Red Dahlia story I posted a week or so back had a lot of work that went into it. Back in 2004 I had scanned a few of my sketchbook pages and the like and thought I would share. These are my roughs for a couple of the pages. I was working in Photoshop at the time with a wacom.
