December Prompt List!

I'm doing the 2019 Inktober list for my December prompts. I've also uploaded an altered November list because there are only 30 days in that month, one of the prompts had to be removed. Prompts are available to $5 Patrons and higher. Updates every day.

Keenspace Free Comic Book Day Sampler (2003) How To Comics

This comic was published in the same Keenspace Free Comic Book Day Sampler comic we released in 2003 that today's other post was also published in (If you want to see, become a patron!)

Keenspace Free Comic Book Day (2003)

This was a three page story published in a Keenspace sampler we released in May of 2003 for Free Comic Book Day. Loosely based on true events.

Red Dahlia (2004) Sketches

Wow, I've become a much better artist than the Amber who drew these. But there's still a lot of good stuff here. I used the top image of the fourth page for the first part of the story.

Red Dahlia (2004) Deleted scenes.

These are some scanned pages of a kind of kindergarten I was considering for the Monstrum in Red Dahlia's world. I never got around to Matt. I usually start writing brainstorming bits by hand or on notecards and arrange them before I work on scripts.

Alchemy Comic (2008)

This is an unfinished comic I lost the original pages for but might take these scans into Clip Studio paint to ink and complete, because I still like the concept. It might be something I'll explore later.

WIP Color Nouveau Coloring Book

This is about where these start. The cool thing about Nouveau design is that it's very organic, so you can start very loose with it before refining the linework a lot more. This one ended up having a very simple background. I've uploaded the final version as well.

Polarity (2005) without lettering

This was a story originally published in Narwain's Tales of a Forgotten Planet Anthology. The company went out of business shortly after this was published months late. I haven't been able to find my lettered version of these pages, but I found my unlettered versions. I still have the hard copy of the comic, so I will re-letter this before I re-print it. As is, the second page of the story was accidentally printed without letters. If the visuals confuse you, leave a comment and I'll fill you ...

Red Dahlia (2010)

This was my final project in school. I had to rush the lettering a bit to make the final deadline to graduate, so the final product ended up with a few typos. I need to go back and finish them before I publish it, but thought I would share with the pages as I found them in my archives. This is a bit of a preamble to the previous story, as it explains how she got under the tree. If I were to redo the last comic I would remove the grass from around the tree to keep them "in the same world," as ...

Mugging Comic

These are two pages of a planned 5 page comic where the little girl is waiting for her Mom to come home, but she never does. She's rushed to the hospital, they do surgery to no avail, and she dies while her daughter waits.

I couldn't finish it. I was in a dark place when I drew these pages.

Red Dahlia (2004)

This was originally published in Drunk Duck: Drunk and Disorderly, an anthology put out by www.drunkduck.com which was a webcomic platform I was hosted on at the time. Red Dahlia was co-written by John Daiker who also wrote and drew another story in the same anthology. There's a lot I would change if I were to redo the comic, but it's in the past. I don't know if I'll ever revisit the character outside of another story I'm going to post in about a week or so completed in 2010.

The Psyche

This is one of my most favorite comics, but back in college a lot of people didn't "get it." (It's dream logic, there's nothing to be gotten). I'll add this one to the Life of Glych Comics on Panel2Panel.com eventually, but for now, enjoy because you're a Patron!

Princess Naughtypants animation model sheets

These are some hand drawn model sheets I did years ago for Princess Naughtypants. I need to convert these to digital if I want to bring back the character. There are a lot of steps in designing something.

Birthright Sample (2001)

This is a VERY old comic I drew that was never published, but I did make several pages and designs for the pitch including these. I no longer have the lettered pages, but these are scans of the cleaned up inks. Enjoy!

She really is a fun character to draw...

Another Princess Naughtypants comic. This time it's about dressing warmly in the winter. Remember, kids, dress in layers!

November Prompt 15: Outpost

When you google search for the word outpost a LOT of video game screenshots come up because they seem to be the only one using the term in the modern day. This is the ruins of a roman outpost somewhere in Turkey.

This is a sad comic...

I hat the little boy's face on the first page. I was rushed when I drew it. But I am pleased with the pacing.

A wealth of choices

Morning is a choice.

To brush one's teeth, to comb one's hair, to have breakfast, or do none of that.

The choice of breakfasts might be too much to choose from.

Too many cereals. Too many fruits. Too much here and not enough there.

And the guilt of eating a bagel knowing that others have no choice at all.

And lying there. Thinking about the breakfast you're not eating is a choice.

Thinking about the breakfast other's dream of eating. When their bellies are ...

The Great Adventure

I interviewed my grandmother and did this little comic about her adventures when she was young several years ago. It was the first thing I ever water colored. It looks pretty garish to my eye, but has a bt of charm to it. I might redo it someday.

Robot Comic (Now with INKS!)

Previous I had shared with you guys the pencils for these two pages, but I found scans of the inks I had done to them. Enjoy!

Epic Atom Fight

This is me planning out a huge fight sequence for Atom in No Stereotypes. I planned this out during college, and have the original around somewhere, but it's a plot point that "might," be a spoiler... Not sure. It's close to the finale. Gosh, I need to finish that comic....

Is it 3am again?

Lying, trying, a turn, and a flip.
Insomnia is a bad mental trip.

An old high school regret and embarrassments past.
Why must my sleeplessness continue to last?

First, I'm too cold, and then -wrapped- I'm on fire.
All night I lay thinking, I worry and tire.

My cat is excited, but I just want rest.
Without a night's sleep I'm not at my best.

Reasons I hated Art School

I was a very bitter person during Art School at MCAD. I had an unchecked, undiagnosed bi-polar disorder at the time as well as financial trouble due to the economical collapse of 2008. But I found this old comic I had made during that time and it made me giggle, so I thought I would share.

Vermeer's Zombie Milkmaid

I included a copy of the original Jan Vermeer painting entitled "The Milkmaid," of which I used as reference. I had a very tight deadline for this painting at the time, having to complete it within a week. I painted it in acrylic. Had I used oil, it probably would have looked a lot closer to the original, but -again- tight deadline. I've also included some WIP shots of me working on the painting as well as some detail images.

For All the World to See

I was rushed in the inking of this comic, but the pencils looked very close to a style of art I was beginning to feel comfortable with. I feel like the grey came out way to dark. If I were to redo it, I would do the grey as a digital tone.

Update on Schedules and the like!

I've been able to make an update every day this month for both Inktober and planned updates for each tier level. Inktober has been a lot of fun, so I'm going to continue with the drawing prompts throughout the...

Sebastian Pennyworth III

Viva Inktober!

I'm extending Inktober into November as I'm having a lot of fun with the drawing prompts. This will be available to level 3 patrons ($5/month) every day, same as the Inktober. I didn't do Inktober last year so I swiped the drawing prompts from it to do in November here. I've included in this post 3 of the Inktober drawings I really liked to show new people the quality of work I'm putting into each prompt.
