After I finished this, I got a bit upset with it. I though, the sketch looked good enough on its own and I ruined it. But it was a bad time in life; probably being overly self critical, so now that I look at it again, I realize it's not all that bad.
I must have been angry at it because I was rude to the sketch when I went back and looked at it. Haha.

Over the years she's undergone a few design changes, mostly involving her markings as I try and find a good fit for her species--Eurasian water shrew. But, there are a few of her traits that remain consistent.

"Angel and Devil" - Sketch
Doodle of Skeet, Mellie, and Reisarr. This rascally trio.
I'm working on coloring it right now, although sometimes I wish I could just leave some things as sketches and update them as they are. For some reason I get scared to do that and I feel as though I must ink and color them, and if I don't no one sees them. I have to stop doing that. Stop being afraid.
July was a rough time. I'm hoping August will be better.

"Watching"
On the way north to Beckett, Pallas is unexpectedly joined by Cyrus, who insists upon joining him in his search. Pallas cannot refuse him though he would like to. Cyrus keeps his eyes on him, watching and waiting. Pallas pretends to be careless, knowing what Cyrus is up to.
Haven't been feeling well lately. Lots of stuff to do, and there's simply never enough time in the day.
I have concerns.

"Sneak One"
The captain of the ship must keep his dalliance secret from his crew, lest he lose respect. They're not as clever as they think they are, however. The entire crew knows the whole story, and contrary to what Yaromir thinks, his favor with them grows.
There's two versions of this, a lighter one and this one. I've decided I like the darker one more. It looks a bit more sneaky :)

Lila Duff, Princess of the land of night, Vincent. Just wanted to make something of a reference for her. Didn't include her appearance from the back. Oops.
She looks more devious in this drawing than what she actually is.

Raul the Guardian
Raul Amstel is the uncle of Melusine Amstel, the Queen of Beckett. He rescinded claim to the throne after a very short rule, coming to the conclusion he's no good as a leader. A protector, though? He believes it his calling. He now serves as her guard.
I feel as though I did not do well drawing her, but it was only the first time I had done so. Raul's face though? Nailed it.

"Melusine Amstel" Ref
A simple reference drawing of Melusine Amstel, young Queen of Beckett. Her expression is always stoic, her tones measured and confident. She makes it a point to never smile so that she can be taken seriously by her elders, who did not think much of it when she was given the throne by her uncle.
Though she exude serious regality, she does find delight in simpler things...and, secretly, drama.
Background for fun, simple yet pretty (I hope). Perhaps it gives a good idea of the climate of B...
"Respite"
Reward image! Not sure if it's exactly right but it's what came to mind.
Valerie takes a seat and a breather after a boxing workout. Perhaps she'll enjoy this hobby better than vodka and broken dreams.
