The firehouse playset build continues with the exterior walls for Level 2! The exterior wall is broken up into sub-modules to make it easy for printing. They can be interlocked and glued together. A few notes:
- Walls - I continue to print the grey/white areas out of a matte marble PLA - I continue to be impressed by the PolyMaker brand of material here!
- Brick - I designed it so the brick areas can be printed separately from the main wall - this means you can select a color...

Another set of Firehouse files are ready - this set is for building out the walls of the Ecto garage with the iconic archway. The archway - when fully opened - was designed to provide enough clearance for the Kenner Ectomobile to fit through with the gunner seat and a figure! In fact, you might say this entire 3D printing exercise stems from this single childhood frustration that has been simmering for over 30 years.....

I remember waking up one Christmas morning in the late 1980s to find a special present waiting for me - it was a large box. Inside contained a playset I have kept to this day: The Kenner Firehouse Playset! Over the years of my childhood it served as home to the Ghostbusters, a base for Batman villains, and the Daily Bugle from Spider-Man.
But this playset was not without it's flaws: The garage wasn't long enough to fit the entire Ectomobile - and you couldn't drive the Ecto through the ...

As previewed in my previous post, I have created files for VERSION 2 of my 3D printable ghost trap inspired by The Real Ghostbusters cartoon series. This trap features some refined assembly steps, a detachable trap cartridge, and better access to the interior of the rear control box. This trap also has a v-hook that is compatible with the 3D printable proton pack. (Note: if you want the pedal, check out 2023-10-29 23:12:12 +0000 UTC

Greetings! I can't believe it's the 4th quarter of 2023 already and Halloween is just around the corner. As I've been quiet recently, I wanted to provide an update on TWO 3D printing projects I will be delivering to this Patreon this month.
The RGB Ghost Trap was the first project I released and it is one of my more popular 3D printable builds that people undertake. As I've designed other projects si...

Halloween season is coming up fast! Many stores are beginning to feature costume sections, decorations, and animatronics! My family and I are starting to plan out our annual Halloween block party and I'm presently experimenting with a few new effects I want to have set up. One effect that is simple to create and very effective is an 'old timey' illusion called "Pepper's Ghost"
The concept is remarka...

Greetings! It seems the summer got away from me! It has been awhile since I published an update on the charitable side of this Patreon. While it seems that Patreon no longer has a 'goals' feature, I am still very much committed to using a portion of the funds earned from my 3D printing efforts to put towards causes that resonate with me.
This summer, I have contributed portions of Patreon donations to the a series of groups with a presence in Nebraska that are doing hard work in t...

Afterlife-inspired with a dash of Iron Man-esque refinement - this is my custom take on the cyclotron guts designed to fit the Life-size Spirit Proton Pack and be compatible with my Cyclotron shell and bumper prints.
After cutting out the Spirit cyclotron/bumper/filter, this assembly is designed to fit cleanly into the opening with plenty of modding potential!

The 'Life-Size' Spirit Proton Pack comes with a decent Neutrona Wand - but there is quite a bit of room for improvement and upgrades! This collection of upgrade parts includes a few key upgrades that can make your Spirit wand closer to what we see in the 84 movie.
- 'Gun track' upgrade - Here I used a Q-pack gun track and modeled an 'infill' piece to complete the 'step' geometry on the underside. I used a metal v-hook although you can likely re-use the smaller metal...

While the cyclotron was the most significant upgrade I performed to my Life-Size Spirit Pack, I also 3D printed a few smaller modifications and upgrades which are compatible with parts sourced from the excellent Q Proton Pack - notable the Crank Knob and Clippard R331.
- Clippard replacement: Cut off Spirit-molded Clippard - grind down any excess and then afix the included "Clippard Base" file...

As cool as the new 'Life-Size' Spirit Proton Pack is, the pack's outstanding design flaw is it's cyclotron area. Like with the original pack, Spirit opted for a simplified design with some questionable geometry choices (and speaker placement!). Luckily, this is remedied with a little 3D printing elbow grease.
I created a set of STLs built to fit the Life-Size Proton Pack... although this does require that you cut away original cyclotron. Be sure you keep a steady hand and take your time...

Fellow builders! I'm in the process of designing and prototyping a number of 3D printable parts for the new Life-Size Spirit Proton Pack (cyclotron coming soon!). To aid in my efforts, I used a photogrammetry mobile app to produce a rough OBJ mesh that I could use as a reference with textures. It's a pretty rough mesh but it has been quite useful as a scaled reference for my 3D modeling efforts.
In this post, I have attached the OBJ scan - if you find it useful in your own mods, feel fr...

Hi all!
The last two months really got away from me so I'm playing a bit of catch up! Hi all!
I know I have been quiet recently - a number of professional priorities have kept me busy and away from the Ghostbusters game more than I would like in recent weeks. After I get home from my current international trip (London!), I'll be able to refocus on some of GB projects I had planned out earlier this year.
To tide you over, a number of people have inquired about my custom Ecto roof rack over the years - it's a mix of found parts PVC, luggage carrier, and old re-painte...

The mini-cyclotron design adapts the technology of a proton pack into a more compact design allowing for remote operation and greater mobility. While it is less powerful than a full-size proton pack, the light-weight automation potential of the mini-cyclotron can prove to be advantageous. Mount it to a tripod with a blaster for remote-controlled capabilities. Or attach it to your utility belt if you need more mo...

The world can be a scary place - like I'm sure many of you area, I am shocked to see the devastation of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. As horrible as the disaster has been to watch unfold, I am equally inspired to see the hard work of the people working on the disaster relief and rescue operations. To say that the 2016 reboot is 'hotly debated' in the fan community is a bit of an understatement - but I have a slightly different take: When Ghostbusters: Answer the Call came out, I wasn't really into the Ghostbusters scene at all. While I grew up with the original '84 and '89 entries, I had only the vaguest awareness of a new Ghostbusters movie in 2016. At the time, I was far too busy starting a new business venture and being a new parent to pay attention to the latest in pop cul...

Greeting visitors and patrons,
I hope everyone's New Year is off to a good start. It seems 2023 will be a fun year for Ghostbuster fans - a new movie is going into production and is slated for release in... December (is anyone else skeptical... ha!). There is also a great deal of buzz as fans are starting to receive their Hasbro packs. Always cool to see more packs in the wild!

2022 was a lot bigger than a toaster... Here is a small but fun release to close out the year. A patron recently requested a Hasbro-compatible variant on my previously released Slime Blower accessory for the Kenner figures. (thanks for the idea, Ian!)

There is a longstanding debate among Ghostbusters fans: Is the Ecto 1A an upgraded Ecto 1 OR if it is an entirely different car. Afterlife seemed to suggest that original Ecto 1 remained in its original state.... but there was no sign of the 1A at Egon's farm. Where did it go?
I do not have any answers... all I know is that I really like the 1A.
As a comedic gag, it signaled another level of marketing absurdity for the Ghostbusters (the side scrolling signs...

Now that the pre-release files/posts have been out for a few months, I took some time to organize a comprehensive set of files with a supporting 3D dashboard guide to help with assembly! The 'ghost sniffer' is not nearly as iconic as the proton pack or PKE, but it was featured in one of the funnier scenes of the original movie where Peter Venkman visits Dana's apartment. It was also shown briefly as part of Ray's 'lab' outfit in the classic 'we're ready to believe you!' commercial.
The piece of equipment is actually a vintage Bacharach 'Combustible Gas and Oxygen Indicator' - which makes the scene with Pete...

I'm just making up names for this pack's sections at this point!
This collection of parts represents the lower portion of main pack shell. I am calling it the "power distribution" system.
- I foresee this being the most complicated collection to put together but should largely go together with 4 mm cap screws.
- The lower "bar" hanger piece could be constructed out of 3/4" PVC pipe
Is anyone building this thing so far?
