Tribute to my late grandma who was born in the year of the dragon. It’s my first Chinese New Year without her and I miss her so much.
When my parents divorced and essentially abandoned me for their new families, it was my grandma and grandpa who made sure I still felt loved. Without their care and guidance I probably wouldn't be here today.

I love the idea of kintsugi so here's a porcelain dragon that highlights the broken seams with gold. Despite all the pains of hardships in life, we are beautiful.

Winter is rainy season in California, and ironically when I do all my gardening. I love how lush and green everything becomes with the winter rain <3

I've been really into painting wings lately! Also been designing posable paper wings on the side too :D
Here's the early prototype but I'm pretty happy with the progress so far. It's made completely out of interlocking paper, just like the koi lanterns.

Sorry for the long absence! I got sick for a while and then had a lot of work to catch up, but that's all done now and I'm so happy to be back to drawing :)
I wanted to try a new style for the clouds that looks more painterly. Originally I had drawn a girl painting the clouds with a giant brush, but after a bout of artblock, I ended up with Princess Mononoke and her two wolves. Nothing like my favorite anime of all time to get me out of artblock.

Painting the many vibes of autumn~
