I was super bummed to not have time before Halloween to draw all the witches I want, but then I decided that witchy art is timeless ahaha
I got inspired by the idea of flower brooms and in the future I want to do another drawing of a broom seller offering all varieties of flowers and mushroom brooms~

This is basically how my huskies see themselves when they try to hunt deer in the forest behind our house. And they would have succeeded too if it wasn't for that meddling fence!

I guess all the moving stress took a toll on me because I've been fighting a low grade fever for the past 2 weeks. But recovering in bed was so boring and driving me crazy so I popped some ibuprofen and got back to drawing lol
The forest in our backyard is full of deer, and we see some almost everyday. Our huskies, of course, have gone insane trying to chase them. Luckily the fence is working as intended ahaha

I had the most wonderful stroll through an oak forest on a tiny island today. It's been so much stress with moving that this has been the first time in a long time since I felt relaxed. The twirling branches and autumn colors became the inspiration for today's painting.

I can slowly feel my art block fading as I finally catch up on sleep again. There are still a lot of chores I gotta do such as register my biometrics with the Swedish government, get my new IDs, etc but I am ever getting closer to the day when all that is over and I can really dive into art again!
As mentioned before, this painting is inspired by my road trip through Germany before arriving in Sweden. I want do one for Denmark as well, and of course Sweden itself!

We finally have enough furniture where I can properly sit on a chair and paint on my computer!
I was really inspired by the beautiful German country side during my road trip from Frankfurt to Stockholm. The fall leaves were turning, and the horizon was dotted with wind turbines~

The real horror this spooky season is how little time I've had to draw due to moving😭 I feel like I have forgotten how to even hold a pen. This has definitely made me art blocked so my apologies for the subpar art lately.

The floofs and I have officially arrived in Europe!
We actually landed in Germany a few days ago but I was too tired to do anything but sleep. We flew on a special dog friendly airplane that allows dogs in the cabin with me, but they don't have direct flights to Sweden which is why we're in Germany now. We plan to road trip up to Stockholm over the course of a next few days before finally arriving at our new home.

It's getting close to my favorite spooky season and my head is full of art ideas sprouting like mushrooms ahahaha
I'm really excited to go mushroom hunting after my move to Sweden in Oct. I actually poisoned myself once because while the mushroom I found was edible, the tree it was growing on was toxic and leached toxins into the mushroom. I vomited three times, 0/10 do not recommend. I'll have be to extra careful when foraging in Sweden!

Words cannot describe how tired and sleep deprived I am 😭 Beyond the chaos of moving to Sweden and shooting a Kickstarter at the same time, my 2 huskies have been getting into fights a raccoon TWICE in the span of 9 days. This has resulted in multiple ER vet trips at midnight to treat their wounds, plus various more vet trips for booster rabies vaccines.

Finally got to finish a painting! This one turned out pretty different from the sketch. The more I painted the more I got carried away with the flowy brushstrokes, even though I had originally wanted a more minimalistic style.

I've been so busy filming the Kickstarter before my move to Sweden in a month that I haven't had a chance to draw until now ;_;

Finally have some time to draw again~ almost done with this one but I've been staring at it for too long to see what needs fixing for that final touch.
Thank you all who voted on the star projector colors! It's such a close call that I will make the extra colors a stretch goal for the Kickstarter.

I must be close to 10 hours of painting by now ahaha... painting all those animals and their skeletons have been so time consuming but worth it. Now all that's left is to add the details for the water and the dome itself. (And all the prep work of moving from California to Sweden hasn't helped sigh) Hopefully I'll be able to finish this one in a few more days!

Slowly chipping away at this one. Painting out each single animal and their skeleton is a painful process in more ways than one. I also want to thank everyone who left thoughtful comments on the last post. It really helps to have the extra perspective and sliver of hope.

I am neck (haha) deep into this manga/anime. Hikaru Ga Shinda Natsu (The Summer Hikaru Died) is such a poignant exploration of what makes humanity lovely and terrible by juxtaposing an actual eldritch horror next to the everyday horrors of human hate.
Please check it out! I haven't loved a story this much in a long time <3

Drawing THE STUFF that comes out of Hikaru is always so fun, kind of therapeutic in the mindless wiggly organic primordial lines. I can't wait for the new manga chapter and anime ep next week!

This one took way longer than it should 😞 I wanted to try out a new style in Procreate but the brushes didn't want to cooperate so I ended up with my old style, except it looks kinda off. I will have to repaint this on properly in Paint Tool SAI one day.
