Bonus Dungeon: Prismatic Pools
It's the age-old trope of pools full of magical liquids! This is the area that made my party's chaotic bard lose his charisma bonus.

Hello patrons,
We’re getting into the end stretches on a few projects here, and that has us looking forward and thinking about plans for the future. So I wanted to give all of you an update on how things are going and ask you for feedback.
Our fourth Dungeon World monster manual, Great Monsters of Crime, should be done and ready for print proofs later this month. After that, we’ll be putting the finishing touches on our first Labyrinth Lord book, Dungeon Full of Monsters. This is a s...

I realize that this patreon project is rapidly turning into WIZARDS = MONSTERS but listen, asshole wizards are a major source of employment for monsters! It's hard to be your own boss, you have to do all your own hunting, find your own humans to terrorize. Some monsters find the security of working for a wizard gives them more room to work on their craft.
Anyway, this mind-wizard also has a boss, but he's merely a king who has a crystal infestation problem and can offer her some funds and secu...

There's a giant black hand that rises out of the ground in this area, and we'll see more of this creature again later. But not in this dungeon.

It's a portal to another dimension. Or maybe more than one. The Eyeball Syndicate has some guards nearby to lead visitors to the Yellow Smoke where they can get hiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh, maaaan.
I changed the encounter table again after finishing this version, but you might want to use your own table for now, anyway.

One of the reasons to go into the dungeons beneath Skull Mountain is the lure of Drakdagor's magical experiments. He created wondrous artifacts, but he also created the Bluish Multitudes, too, and they were the end of him!

The Shrine of Many Hands is where the demon Iocace keeps her most precious possessions, including her many idols and the portal to her demonic realm, Iocacea.
This release include the dungeon area as well as some stuff y'all may remember from Terrors of the Ancient World: stats for Iocace's avatars and minions and a couple pages describing her realm. Only this time they are for Labyrinth Lord.

This is the most dangerous way to enter the dungeon full of monsters that lies beneath Skull Mountain, because it is guarded by the Blue Knight.

Mentioned in the earlier Painted Caves, this dungeon includes a semi-sentient ocean of living slime.

These caves are one of the places where the iridescent globes and the skinwalkers like to hang out. Bugbears drop in sometimes, too. The slime pits mentioned in the text will be the subject of another post in the near future.

This is one of the three main entrances to the Dungeon Full of Monsters. You probably don't want to be sending 1st Level characters in here though, unless you've got a large gang of them.

Here's two dungeon sections that are connected by a secret passageway. You'll have to turn one of them upside down to connect them though.

The suckering worms operate a casino in the dungeon. On the upper level, they cater to the tastes of various monsters and evil wizards. On the lower level, they prepare gruesome entertainments and horde their riches.
But everyone knows: the only thing YOU want to gamble with here... is your life.

When last we saw Planet Rigel, the wizards of the equatorial empire had used magic to accidentally destroy the planet, and refugees were fleeing to Earth to survive. But now another wizard has managed to summon a warrior from the very same Planet Rigel... but a million years in the future! Of course, not everyone would call this warrior a "paladin."
This time, I have combined both Dungeon World and Labyrinth Lord versions into the same pdf.

The rat goblins were supposed to be out in February, but I cannot find the post in my page's timeline, so either the publish button did not work or after finishing it I completely hallucinated releasing it.
My sincere apologies, and thank you Mark for pointing out its absence.

This month's main monster is yet another in a long series of asshole wizards: The Mouther. Because he has lots of mouths to cast spells with. And just like most wizards, he's an asshole.
As usual, both Dungeon World and Labyrinth Lord versions are attached to this post.

We got to see the rat goblins last month, but they also have to live somewhere. So they stole a mountain fortress from the fire giants! The Fortress of Fire has traps and crazy stuff in it, like stone golems and rat goblin necromancers. Comes in both Dungeon World and Labyrinth Lord versions.

Behold the first Monster Planet module for Dungeon World. You have seen Planet Maldoran in fractured glimpses before, now see it as a whole, in all its vibrant, pastel-coloured glory.
I have sent all current patrons a DriveThruRPG comp coupon for the pdf, which is not yet publicly available (although the coupon should still work).
If you want to buy the print version from Lulu for the cost of printing and shipping only, use this link: 2017-02-13 23:21:53 +0000 UTC View Post
The Purple Man invades the material plane through the green fluid, infecting peoples' bodies, and transforming them into avatars of himself. Better check how many fingers you have.

This is a revised version of the Astral Glutton's dungeon, with some additional elements that are not connected to the Glutton, in case you want to replace him with some other kind of monster. The optical fungi mentioned in room number 2 is an unfinished monster.

Hey all,
If you were a patron in the minutes before I posted this, I sent you a DriveThruRPG comp coupon for the revised edition of The Metamorphica in pdf form, as a way to say thank you for your continued support. Over the course of 2016, monster things have been going slower than I'd like them to. We have some ambitious plans for next year, but that's the future, so who knows? Hopefully the new incarnation of The Metamorphica can help you bring new life to old monsters in the present....

Hessarach, the evil god of refuse and scavengers, is the last monthly monster of 2016. The Dungeon World version is in the standard format, while the Labyrinth Lord version comes as a dungeon area.

Oh wow, I have not released one of these dungeons since July! I have been distracted by other things, including other Monthly Monster things that we have in the works, and these dungeons haven't gotten enough attention. So! I will make up for it by posting some new ones. Here is the first, an updated version of Harlan Blackhand's Tower.

Another giant boss monster! This month we have a divine aspect of destruction, a force that shaped the multiverse as we know it, and now might end up destroying it. Also it has a giant head and it shoots green flame.
Planar themes are the new normal around here.

A bounty hunter is hot on the trail of a stolen item: the legendary Chalice of Shadows. But who could have stolen such a thing? The infamous leader of the land's largest and most successful death cult! What will he do now? Who will he turn to? Who can stop the death cultists?
Dungeon World and Labyrinth Lord versions both attached.

This is the bestiary from my current work-in-progress game The Nightmares Underneath. It's an old school dungeoncrawling rpg set in a fantasy Middle East where the dungeons are made out of invading nightmares. I've posted a few of these monsters before, but here they are in their entirety.
These are compatible with Labyrinth Lord and other old school fantasy rpgs, and all the illustrations were done by me, not Nathan. There won't be Dungeon World versions of these unless Nathan decides to draw...

The dragon cult returns! This month they are trying to steal the vast riches that the death cultists have stored away in the dungeon.
The monster this month is the puppet golems. In the Dungeon World version, they are the leaders of a criminal gang. In the Labyrinth Lord version, they have their own area of the dungeon whose doors have been nailed shut because the other inhabitants of the underworld are sick and tired of these wooden pipsqueaks.
