LyLad April Update 2

LyLaD April Update 1

More gamedev :v

What was done:
 Completed the systems for perks (called traits ingame) and curses. The effects of all perks and curses that will appear in the demo are done.
 Basic functionality for the Shade Village, a simple town you pass through early in the game, is all done. There's an inn that you can rest at. There are shops which have limited stock, and will restock with the passage of time with more common & plentiful items and less common...

Random Sketches + Update

Mika if she Ui (and obese, and experiencing indigestion). Cursed glasses or something. Imagine her halo being beige now.

Also a random Elaina sketch.

Update: I'm freezing payments for the next month because not much artwise got done or will get done this month, same deal with not having any polls, so I'll lighten the load and say I have next month to cover the gap. This will start on the 30th.

LyLaD March Update 2

I worked on LyLaD instead of drawing. Oops. But now I'm nearing the end of the mechanical work. After perks and curses are done there will be more to show with a bit more regularity, as I'll be moving on to character art, sprites, map/room art, scene writing, etc. (Some sketches of new characters are included above.)

What was done:

Crossbow functionality and moveset were implemented. You can switch between bolts that have different strengths or effects.

LyLaD March Update

I entered early month gamedev hell again, and have returned.

Stuff that was done:

Moved bulk of game text over to an external file. This has no effect on the player but it makes it very easy to quickly modify most lines in the game without having to fish through the game itself to find and alter every individual message. Wasn't able to do it with everything, but it basically makes writing and editing map/story/loss scenes going forward much easier.

LyLaD February Update

Got carried away and spent the last week or so devoted to gamedev, but I got a lot done. This also includes plenty of stuff done throughout January as well. I'll just list them off.

What I want to do next is transfer the written text of the game to an external file for easier editing en masse. Since this will be annoying and take a long time, I can now get back to drawing.

After that will be remaking/polishing/expanding the Memory Ledger menu, used for  skill point allocation...
