May I present Chapter Two of Heavy Five for your entertainment.
My thanks for your patience and your support. I am confident that, no matter your tastes, you will find something to enjoy within this chapter.
I should add that there are over 40 paths available to you in this release and so completionists may find themselves with a bit of a challenge... Paths will vary depending on gender, race, choices, discoveries etc etc and most of the playteste...

First things first. Chapter Two will be released within the next two hours :)
Edit....it's out in the wilds
I'm just uploading the final, final version now. We've tested it to death and seem to have eliminated any possibility of the game crashing your save due to the addition of new code. It's now, following some tweaks, over 1,400 renders, twenty animations, 10,000 lines of code and I've lost track of the word count. Easily over 40,000. Pla...

Hi hi.
I've got the slider crash error rate down to less than 1% and I doubt I can get it further than that tbh. Post Chapter Two this won't cause any crashes at all btw, it's really just this release I need to be careful over.
So I think I'm there. I'm going to run through all the non slider error reports one last time to make sure I haven't missed anything; let the testers have one more crack at it and then I can release.
I'm sorry for the delay. I just want you to p...

Still working on this with some help and the problem on the crash isn't so much it crashes every time but seems to depend upon where you are loading a save from which complicates any assessment of the stability.
The code has been tweaked a bit to add extra stability and there is one more line of enquiry to run down before I go to my fall back position.
The crash is being caused by Renpy trying to rollback due to what it thinks are script changes. Now there are hardly other than th...

It's done. Finished. Complete. But I have a couple of issues to resolve before I'm happy releasing it which I'll explain in a moment.
First off scores on the doors.
- 40,166 words of dialogue (which qualifies it as an actual novel!)
- 7,473 lines of code
- 1,287 still renders (excluding renders for background fluff)
- 17 animations of @3,471 render frames.
This is a big update, as you may have gathered, and is barely recognisable to the origina...

Hi all,
Just a quick note this time to advise it's started it's testing. It's with my primary tester now and once they've done their checks it's over to the boys to see what they make of it.
A quick note on my testing process. I have a two tier process now, given my aversion to putting out stuff that is wonky and, although it was a bitch to get through, it worked pretty well in terms of assuring the quality of the remastered Chapter One.
My primary tester is real...

Hi hi :)
So the good news is I've put the fans in the right way around, but to test that I indeed had, I wanted to do a complex test render first.
So before I run the ani renders I ran, as chosen, an Annie render...

I might see if I can press the hamster into service to do a few more whilst the big machine gets busy churning out the good bits.

It should be anywhere between a day and five...
If you haven't had yours by the end of the week tho, drop me a line and I'll look into it.
Thank you all for your support and hopefully see you still in April.

- I blew the motherboard on the PC re-running the renders;
- I fixed the motherboard!
- I found out what caused it;
- Replacement parts constantly turned up late;
- I'm still waiting for extra cooling fans...
- I've made no real progress this month so am refunding March pledges
- The chapter should go out to testers this week.

Well so far not too buggy in the code. A few cases of "Marcus Interruptus" (top tip for anyone thinking of making their own game - never call a character in your code M, if you're using MC for the player...One little typo leads to Marcus popping up at the oddest of times like an actor trying to get a bigger role) and a couple of switch fails but nothing that isn't being easily fixed.
I was going to put my tested version up here tomorrow with the version fully tested by my indus...

Hi guys :)
So the animations for the naughties have been re-run and are all finished. By using both machines and just leaving them to get on with it (Daz can slow down and do weird things at times if you try to run other applications I find with four minute renders slowly creeping up the time to eleven minutes at one point, so I just left everything alone bar peeking at the render time), I've cranked out over 2,000 renders. In a week. (alright a week ...

I wish I'd have made a render of Becca drawing a name out of a hat but, drat.... I daren't stop the animations running so ....next time! Anyhoo!
A little bit of explanation on how I've done this first. I need to do draws for Feb, Jan, Dec and Nov. Even if patron's have since left for the moment whilst they wait for new material (and I get that, I do) if they were patrons in those months as far as I'm concerned they are still owed the chance. Fair is fair.
But since this i...

Almost there; waiting for final animations and then testing. Oh, and Two is huge. Really big.
Long version
Nearly there guys.
Four things left to do and she's finished.
- Finish two animations
- Add in the revised text box shader code
- Add in the new gallery code (a player kindly gave me some code!)
- Quality testing
If I'd been willing to settle for the original animations I did earlie...

All from the new lounge.
All a little rough around the edge as they were done for testing purposes so the final game images will be better, but even so. Not too shabby :)

Hi Hi!
Not an awful lot to say this week as largely it's just been a case of making piccies, but they're coming along nicely and, of course, much better than what we had before in the earlier version of Two.
For example...

I did hit one snag tho which was a pain in the bum.
The lounge. That asset has been a bother since day one tbh but I thought I'd tamed it. Sadly, this prove...

The company has got back to me! And I think we have a workable solution. :)
Fine tuning the details but in essence it would work like this.
So I would pop all the patreons in a draw, out comes a name and I'd message the winner asking for who they want etc. I then send the details off to the company and pay for it. The company then emails the winner for the delivery details and posts it off when it's ready.
What do you guys think? Would that work for you? If you wi...

Not that there is a great deal I can show you this week. Well, most of the work was around hidden clickables and so to show you those would be a bit self-defeating! :)
So instead a test render from the re-jig of Amanda's rooms...
(yep rooms, she has a separate bedroom...)

Hi all,
Sorry running a few days late this week as I wrestled to finish a few things off, tweak a few things and chase a few things up.
So, last week I said I wanted to bed down all the clickable scenes. You may have wondered (and I certainly didn't explain! oops!) why I wanted to tackle this next. Well, as well as being a nice fun bit for me, it also allowed me to test the locations a bit. Although they all looked good etc, did they work from a game play perspective. Tha...

I've been dying to ask this one.
One of the biggest changes in the remaster (other than I can actually do decent renders now!) was the introduction of the skins and gender choices. They are here to stay, largely as this was always my intent to have them in when I started sketching the game out over a year ago (I also enjoy writing femBob hugely).
Now I'm aware that not everyone will play all the choices nor indeed should you unless you want to. Once I uploa...

So! Let's start with what I said I'd do last week which was expanding the script for Two, setting the long animations running and getting the feedback from C&C. How did I do?
Well I nailed the script expansion. Good God it felt good to write again! On this I can't really say that much for spoiler purposes but it's over twice the size of the original Two in respect to dialogue. When I start the rendering I dare say I'll tweak it (I often do) either by adding or shuffling scenes...

Good grief! An age of miracles is upon us, no? ;)
Okay, so let's start with what I had to do last week - which was the Caverns and Creatures scene. Now a week might seem a bit long for this but this was one of those areas where I needed to invest some upfront time in coding the mechanics and getting my head around the gameplay balance not just for Chapter Two but for the rest of H5 if you decide to keep playing it with Sarah.
The good news is it's done. I had a few ...

Power plant office test ( Oh, hi Lt Harris... )

As always now, I'm not using any additional spotlights. What lighting we see is what we'd have. Still a few tweaks perhaps but on the whole I'm really pleased I've made the switch away from three point lights.

Firstly, a big hello and welcome (and indeed welcome back in some cases) to new patrons. Thanks guys. As you've seen (hopefully!) from the remaster when you're a tiny fish like me it -really- does make a difference. So, thank you.
Secondly, and since Becca is so fond of giving you your results at the end of a chapter, let's see how I did on my "This is what I'll do this week..." scoreboard.
