I hope you are all enjoying your spring. After some beautiful, warm spring days in Jersey, I am en route to the chilly Minnesota to begin my two month tour.
The good thing about long travel days is that I get a lot of writing and photo editing done. Photo editing is still largely experimental for me. But then again, photography in general is an experiment to me.
This is a series I did while in Woodstock. I shot this just with my iPhone on a tripod with a trigger. It wa...

I took some experimental self portraits today in a beautiful studio.
The series explores the subject-object relationship.
I am still learning... but I think these will be interesting.
Check back Sunday for the full set.

A very well known fashion photographer had been asking me to trade for a while. Being a broke college student, I couldn't afford the time off or travel to get down to the city. I really thought the images would benefit my portfolio, so I eventually did make it happen. I was 20 years old.
He was very cordial and personable. He picked me up from the train station, and parked illegally at Grant's Tomb. Being a NYC native, he knew exactly how long he could get away with being parked there. ...

In 2015, I visited the motherland. Specifically, I went to Athens. While I did have some relatives there, Athens is starkly different from the island my grandfather is from.
Truth be told, my trip to Athens was a depressing experience. The city was very dirty. Locals and refugees alike were clearly starving and lacking the moral compass of a nourished humanity. People and dogs were picking through trash on the side of the street. There were heavily armed soldiers throughout the city. It...

My personal and professional life, my artistic identity, and thus, my Patreon feed, is in a state of evolution. I lost quite a few patrons through the transition, so if you are still here, please know it means the world to me. I can't say it enough times.
I'm looking forward to longer days and new horizons. I hope you'll allow me to share with you.
If you are entitled to a patron package, they ship to...

For my VIP patrons :-)
This is probably the second or third time we tried this song out, and the first time we recorded it. It's only an audio recording, because we had no idea how much we would like it! As you can hear, our first few takes were in a major key. We decided to do a smokier take to fit the mood of the lyrics. I still love both.... What's your favorite?

Another set making a worthwhile reappearance.
A little funny behind the scenes moment:
Michael was photographing me from across the room, and the stool he was sitting on fell apart and crashed to the ground, dropping him on his backside. I glanced up quickly, and his hands and camera were still in front of his face, but I could see his one eye and eyebrow raised in an expression of utter confusion. I spent the next 5 minutes face-down in the sofa, laughing hysterically. Sorr...

So, I have had Photoshop for a while, thanks to one of my favorite patrons/collaborators. However, every time I have attempted to use it, (specifically for this project) I have failed... Mostly because if I wasn't touring, I had my hands full with caring for my grandparents. Photoshop isn't something one can get the hang of with very little time on hand.
Anyway, now I am dedicating my mornings to sitting through the tutorials and figuring it out while I have my coffee. Which is rather a...

Little behind the scenes moments during the making of 'Morning Fix.'
More to come soon.

I am a little late on my weekly post, and for that, I apologize.
I spent the last few weeks cleaning and moving my grandparents' belongings, as the home needed to be completely gutted to the main support beams. I hand cleaned black mold from furniture and sentimental family heirlooms. It was extremely labor intensive and time consuming. I still have hundreds of photographs left to clean, but I got the bulk of it done.
I just delivered a truckload of things down to my mother'...

Stir my body into day break
But as for me, I'm not yet there.
For my mind is on the reap
Whilst my bones rest in the night.
Surely, time, she does not sleep

I am traveling many miles
Far higher from my port of rest,
Unraveling all the plentiful aisles
That desire does warp and weft
Some hours I spend sorting

Peculiarly, two patrons also dropped their pledge this week.
Please know that I'm open to feedback, and want to make this a fulfilling and worthwhile experience for both you and me.

That down payment money
Weigh heavy on me.

Don’t, in deceiving night,
Forego me.

Indebted to you.
