Shooting in Austin
Today I posed for Larry, a photographer whom I met at the Holz/Weston workshop several weeks ago.
We had a pleasantly quiet afternoon of soft portraits, followed (unexpectedly) by 3 hours of intense and fulfilling conversation, covering everything philosophical, political, ethical, spiritual.
It isn't often one meets another, especially these days, who is willing and eager to have these kinds of conversations. It is even rarer to meet someone who is entirely on the same page.

Here's a little behind the scenes bit of Nymph and I posing for George Holz at Holz Farm in Phoenicia.
It will be a little while before I can post about that weekend on the blog, so until that feature, I will drip some bits and pieces on here.
I hope you're enjoying the last light of summer. I'm off to tour Austin, and then to Maui. When I return home, my town will be sleeping in vibrant colors.

Just a quick note to acknowledge a chapter of transition and overcoming; So appropriately symbolized by the interruption of light by the moon on her passive, but determined, travel.

I intended to share an image of myself today, to document my recovery. Then I decided I only want to share my best self with you.
My recovery has been rough... I will start to feel tremendously better, but then as soon as I attempt moving at my average pace, this infection strikes back with a vengeance. I woke up this morning in pretty substantial pain, and with very little energy. The bruises on my jaw that had faded have strangely reappeared, and I have a rash on my chest.

I am holding myself accountable for having neglected this feed for almost two weeks.
