While living on the road, I acquired this red flannel, which is a hallmark in so many of my photos. I purchased it with my partner, John, for a shoot we did in the snow during a Minnesota winter. That was six years ago, and this flannel is very tattered now. Those green pants belonged to my grandmother (most of my favorite clothes were once hers) but they fell apart last year after many years of wear and tear. Anyway, while touring, I made these glamorous images with AJ Baran in Omaha. If I'm...

Here are the last of Dan Leffel's images from a gorgeous trip to New Mexico. On one of the last days, we went to tour these ruins. We didn't have plans to shoot here but, while exploring, the photographers asked if I would consider it. This place was a labyrinth of rooms and windows. The photographers took turns shooting and keeping watch. I would pose, and if I heard the signal that someone was approaching, I would sprint into another room, or dive through a window, and slip my dress back on...

A little color bonus, including that behind the scenes sunset shot. A memorable sunset, indeed.

I held out on sharing these color images long enough! New Mexico landscapes are just too beautiful not to be marveled in full color.

I just posted this mini set up, accompanied by literature I wrote as an addendum to Maurice Blanchot's "Madness of the Day." The images are of Eva Luna in my bedroom. July 2018.
I promised this set for yesterday, but forgot to actually click "schedule!" Sorry about that.
Enjoy. XO.

An Addendum to Blanchot's Madness of the Day
Stories? No. No stories. Ever again...
I could become no more diminished before them, who have had me at their disposal; and now they had expectations of me that I could not reach. What they want is my story, yet they fail to realize they are the very characters and ellipses which dare not permit me through the terminal.
With my refusal to continue, the eye doctor asked me to read the letters on the wall. The ment...

Almost exactly two years ago, my dear friend Eva Luna came to visit me in my little home on the Jersey Shore.
We scheduled a boudoir shoot with Anodyne Photo. While on a break, I snapped these images of Eva through the window of my bedroom door.

Summer finally seems to have broken, making me nostalgic for these moments in June seven years ago. I had just graduated from SUNY New Paltz, and had moved to Long Island with my college sweetheart. We lived way out east on the island. The coastal landscape reminded me very much of home, but the hideous traffic and suburban snobbery drove me nearly to insanity. I did not last long there, and was often escaping down to the Jersey Shore, or up to the Catskills. Fortunately, in that time f...

More from a very dreamy trip to the desert with Leffel & Johnsson.

These images were made during a trip to New Mexico with Dan Leffel & Inge Johnsson. I have posed for them in many stunning landscapes all over the U.S. This was a fun week spent driving and hiking many miles all over New Mexico, shooting in some of the most surreal locations I've ever seen. Some cold mornings and hot afternoons, but definitely worth it.
Also... I ate the best trés leches cake I've ever tasted on this trip. After shooting, Dan brought me with him to Santa Fe for my ...

Here are some more sketches by my good friend Kat, done during my Sunday sessions.
Tomorrow I will get back to posting good ole' fashion photos, thanks for being patient.
This was a busy week for news writing. Section 2, which is dedicated to arts/music/entertainment, just opened up for the season. Section 2 is my beat, and my mentor, who also is typically on this beat, is laid off through the summer.
Although the pandemic has kept things shut down, it has actually mad...

I've been posing live on Zoom every Sunday evening, and it has been very rewarding to be able to offer this service not only to my favorite artists in my own community, but to people all over the country. Here are some sketches from last week's session by my dear friend, Kat Tobin. More to come. XO.

Here is a throwback to 4-5 years ago when I first met and worked with 'Celina Bobina.' We had arranged to shoot on the Gulf Coast with Photosensualis, so we met somewhere in Northern Florida and caravanned several hours west to a charming, desolate beach town. The two of us were rock climbing vagabonds living out of our trucks at the time, so we immediately clicked. We shared lodging and, when we weren't shooting, explored the sleepy town together, treated ourselves to a fancy meal and then s...

Why should I ever think to touch
What pleases me to know?
Irony never thinks to blush.
How many seas in stow
Beyond virtual surface
Wanton or worthless
Could you be anointed?
Might it be disappointment ?
You fear these fingers have never tasted
Perfect electric reflections
Of a dimension severed and wasted

Happy May! I hope you are all staying healthy and sane.
Thank you for your continued support, even through these very unsettling times.
I made these self portraits in early March, in anticipation of the events to come. Unfortunately, within days we had hundreds of reported cases. My county has been devastated by this virus, and it's only the beginning for us.
Fortunately, I have always been prepared and resourceful, so l...
