June Monthly Illustration - "Aberration"

I've been working on this one on and off for a few weeks, so it feels good to finally be done and happy with it!

I used a combo of pen and brushwork for the ink and colored it digitally.  I vastly prefer traditional line-art over digital, and I also prefer digital color over traditional, so a combination usually gets me the best results.  Coloring digitally also allows me to play around with colors and take chances on risky palettes.  I kinda feel like the colors on this ...

I've done a bit of a packaging update which I'd like to be a surprise, but for now I can tell you that the new packaging is made out of recycled materials!  I've contemplated making the switch to more eco-friendly materials for a few months, and though I really love the bright yellow envelopes, I figure this would be a better choice moving forward.  I hope you like it!

Mermaids!

Here are May's mermaid illustration(s)!  I've been really enjoying noodling around with microns and markers in my sketchbook lately, so I went ahead and did a few based on patron suggestions.  I think Ms. Pink with the sprouts is my favorite  🌱

Thank you all for your patience; life has been pretty rough lately but I'm grateful that the drawing juice has still been flowing through my brain though it is, as ever, slow going.

I am emerging from post-vaccine fog to say: whoops!  I sent May stickers off last Thursday but forgot to post my traditional stack picture to let you all know they were on their way.  So, some of you have already got them!   For those of you who haven't: keep an eye out.  They are coming.

Paper Surprise Sticker Club is BACK!!!

January Illustration - A Gnome Princess

Thank you to my dear friend Anna for suggesting a gnome princess for this month's illustration!  I wanted to draw every suggestion I got this month, but I'm under a really tough deadline for some freelance work so, for now, miss gnome stands alone.

This long carrot was inspired by a really long parsnip we got in our farmer's market box this week.

January's theme is........ PARTY SNAKES!!

Here are two explanations for you to choose from:

Option A: As we enter the new year, I wanted to do something upbeat and celebratory.  Snakes have long been a symbol of rebirth and renewal, so they are a perfect choice of imagery as we reflect on this year and look towards the next.

The Christmas Prank

Hello and Happy Holidays, kind patrons!

I impulsively made another Christmas Creature poem over the course of the last 3 days.  Sometimes when inspiration strikes, you just gotta put everything down and go for it.  Making this was honestly a treat...  I used Dr. PH Martin's radiant concentrated watercolors which do such pretty things on the paper and, my god, are they saturated!
