Child's Play

I promise this is the last of my Chucky art haha!! It's just so fun to draw him! I've been too afraid to watch any horror films until recently, so I've been sort of binging everything I missed out on

Your Friend Til the End

I watched Child's Play for the first time and Chucky's weird little face was just begging to be drawn

I watched Child's Play for the first time, in case you can't tell

(hoping to finish these in time for Halloween!)

"Tokyo Mew Mew" Full res JPEG

This is a retired print from 2015! I've drawn two new Tokyo Mew Mew prints since then, and I want to draw another one soon haha 😭

The image above is a preview - the full res download is attached below!

Unfortunately, I made this one by drawing each character separately and then arranging flattened versions for the final image, so I don't really have a singular clean PSD for this, which means I don't have a layered version or lineart immediately on hand. But you...

"Unstyleable" Phone Wallpaper

Here's this month's eyeball-themed, somewhat Halloween-y wallpaper! Thank you again to everyone who voted in the poll!

Weekly Sketchbook #28

I still think Sailor Chibi Chibi Moon is one of the greatest designs of all time lol...! I wanted to mess around with that early 2000s digital art vibe, where everything was airbrushed and just a little too soft. The style you used to see a lot on Oekaki boards. It's really nostalgic to me!

Since "some other spooky theme" won, I ended up going with eyes for the theme of the October wallpaper! I feel like it kind of has one foot in spooky and another foot in cute, though

I'll be posting the full wallpaper version early next week!

"Sunflower Picnic" Wallpaper

Here's the promised Hamtaro wallpaper! I wanted it to be summer-themed, but since fall is already here, I made the colors feel a little fall-ish, too. This is also available as a print! (just remember to use your 15% off code, which can be found in the "update" tag!)

I hope you enjoy it!

Weekly Sketchbook #27

Sorry, this one's a little sparse - I'm juggling a lot of different things right now, but I'm starting to recalibrate, so I should be able to fit regular sketching back into the mix soon!

I'm also still trying to get better at quick but readable backgrounds, and it's still really hard!

Sunflower Picnic

A cropped preview of the Hamtaro wallpaper that I'll be uploading to the $3 tier next week! (It will be available as a print, too)

This one was just for fun, so it doesn't count as the October wallpaper - that one will be coming sometime later this month!

Sketchbook Collection #1

I've been looking forward to putting this together! This is a (lightly curated) PDF that collects half a year's worth of the sketches that I've been posting here every week. It clocks in at 96 images, with most being in color.

I ended up letting the order randomize a bit since I feel like I tend to go through phases with techniques, which made parts of it feel a little stale. This way things feel a little more varied and lively!

You can download the pdf below:

In my annual "I want to draw Nia from Gurren Lagann" mood

Also, I really wanted to draw a motorcycle, but it felt too boring to draw just a motorcycle. I feel like that's how most of these bunny-themed pictures happen hahah

Also, 26 whole weeks!! I'm going to try making and posting a curated PDF so they're in a nice little collection!

October Wallpaper Poll

Here's the poll for the monthly phone wallpaper, kinda-sorta Halloween edition! As usual, I might end up drawing more than just the winner, but only the winner is guaranteed.

If there's anything you'd like me to consider adding to next month's poll, feel free to leave a comment! (Both fanart requests and original prompts are welcome!)

October Update + INPRNT Code

Fall is here!!! I'm so excited to finally start hitting some lower temperatures!!!

First things first, here's this month's code for 15% off of my INPRNT shop: NZ6JT9Q

In professional news, last month I finished the interior art for Grace Needs Space!! 🥳 All that's left is the cover and potentially some backmatter! I can't show a whole lot, but here's a little peek at a peekin...

Not much to add onto this set of sketches, except that I desperately want to draw a nicer version of the little guys in their little car. Maybe a series of little guys in little cars...

Also, here's the sketch for the promised Hamtaro wallpaper! I'll be uploading it sometime next month!

"Nana" Process

I was a little all over the place with this one, so bear with me!

A reminder that if you find yourself confused or want more in-depth explanations of each step, I have standalone posts that explain my techniques and list my tools: I have a lineart post, a coloring post, and a 2021-09-22 19:50:41 +0000 UTC View Post

Weekly Sketchbook #24

I feel like all of this week's sketches look like they've either been in a window or in the backyard for the past forty years

This is all just a lot of really self-indulgent stuff! I really want to draw a nice Misa print at some point, but for now I just wanted to draw her face and hair. The catgirl is a character that I made in 6th grade, and the final drawing is going to be a partner piece to the "on her mind" sketch from earlier.

I'll try to use a color that isn't yellow next w...

A Wisteria drawn to thank everyone who's picked up a copy of The Sprite and the Gardener, whether it was bought, borrowed, requested from the library, or read in the middle of the bookstore! (And a huge thank you to everyone who's taken the time to leave a rating/review on goodreads or elsewhere!)

"Nana" Wallpaper

I've updated this set! It now includes two different phone sizes to fit short and tall screens, plus a tablet version. Each version has a little wiggle room on the edges so you can zoom in/out to alter the fit a little. If you have any issues using these, just let me know!

Weekly Sketchbook #23

Our internet's been out this weekend, so I was worried I wouldn't make it in time, but I'm here!

I want to try getting back into drawing stuff that hints at some kind of larger narrative, so I made the first one with the idea that it's like... a post-transformation scene haha!

The Wisteria drawings are an update on the sketch I posted last week, while the final sketch is something I'm hoping to start working on soon. I've been reading some girls love comics and wanted to channel t...

Sweets

It occurred to me that I should start posting some of these here! It's actually a wallpaper preview (the full-sized wallpaper version is available at the $3 tier), but it's been edited to work as a standalone illustration, too, so I feel like it makes sense to post it like I would any other image.

It'll be a case-by-case thing, but stuff like this will be popping up now and then!

I haven't drawn any Sailor Moon characters in a long time!

The third drawing is Wisteria, from our book The Sprite and the Gardener. I'm trying to brainstorm a little mini image to thank everyone who's picked up a copy or left a review. (Also I just wanted to draw her again - it's been a while and I miss drawing all that hair!!)

I think once I hit sketchbook #26 I'll compile all of the sketch...

September Update + INPRNT Code

Thank you for sticking around for another month! Here's what I've been up to recently and what I hope to accomplish this month:

First things first, though - this month's new INPRNT discount code for 15% off is OUUGSP

For most of the month I've been working on that new graphic novel pitch (and I still have a lot to do...), but I did finish sketching the sample pages! While I can'...

I don't have a lot to report this week, but I'm once again very into little guys exploring a big world. If it were up to me I would draw nothing but little creatures wrapped up in big piles of fabric. Maybe one day I'll manufacture plushes so I and anyone who wants one can have a real little creature to wrap up in big piles of fabric. (ps its name is beebo)

Also, Yotsuba has a perfect design...!

Weekly Sketchbook #20

I've been in a little bit of a rut ideas-wise this week since I've started picking up more hours at my part-time job. Lately I've been relying on objects around the house to kickstart ideas (last week was apples, this week was an empty spice jar)

I'm really enjoying drawing more loosely and letting myself put down quick lines and colors without fussing and fixing them, but I'm starting to feel a sort of itch, like I want to make another big clean illustration already. Maybe I can find s...
