Weekly Sketchbook #28

I still think Sailor Chibi Chibi Moon is one of the greatest designs of all time lol...! I wanted to mess around with that early 2000s digital art vibe, where everything was airbrushed and just a little too soft. The style you used to see a lot on Oekaki boards. It's really nostalgic to me!

Unstyleable

Since "some other spooky theme" won, I ended up going with eyes for the theme of the October wallpaper! I feel like it kind of has one foot in spooky and another foot in cute, though

I'll be posting the full wallpaper version early next week!

"Sunflower Picnic" Wallpaper

Here's the promised Hamtaro wallpaper! I wanted it to be summer-themed, but since fall is already here, I made the colors feel a little fall-ish, too. This is also available as a print! (just remember to use your 15% off code, which can be found in the "update" tag!)

Sorry, this one's a little sparse - I'm juggling a lot of different things right now, but I'm starting to recalibrate, so I should be able to fit regular sketching back into the mix soon!

I'm also still trying to get better at quick but readable backgrounds, and it's still really hard!

Sketchbook Collection #1

I've been looking forward to putting this together! This is a (lightly curated) PDF that collects half a year's worth of the sketches that I've been posting here every week. It clocks in at 96 images, with most being in color.

I ended up letting the order randomize a bit since I feel like I tend to go through phases with techniques, which made parts of it feel a little stale. This way things feel a little more varied and lively!

Weekly Sketchbook #24

I feel like all of this week's sketches look like they've either been in a window or in the backyard for the past forty years

This is all just a lot of really self-indulgent stuff! I really want to draw a nice Misa print at some point, but for now I just wanted to draw her face and hair. The catgirl is a character that I made in 6th grade, and the final drawing is going to be a partner piece to the "on her mind" sketch from earlier.

"Nana" Wallpaper

I've updated this set! It now includes two different phone sizes to fit short and tall screens, plus a tablet version. Each version has a little wiggle room on the edges so you can zoom in/out to alter the fit a little. If you have any issues using these, just let me know!

Weekly Sketchbook #23

Our internet's been out this weekend, so I was worried I wouldn't make it in time, but I'm here!

I want to try getting back into drawing stuff that hints at some kind of larger narrative, so I made the first one with the idea that it's like... a post-transformation scene haha!

I don't have a lot to report this week, but I'm once again very into little guys exploring a big world. If it were up to me I would draw nothing but little creatures wrapped up in big piles of fabric. Maybe one day I'll manufacture plushes so I and anyone who wants one can have a real little creature to wrap up in big piles of fabric. (ps its name is beebo)

This one is from 2016! It was part of a Cardcaptor Sakura fan zine called "Release" that I participated in. Even though it's pretty old at this point, I still have a soft spot for it.
