Got inspired so here's Boof as a guard dog. He seems to be doing fairly well!

2022 March WIP 3 - Rabbits and Sphinx's

So building off the last post, also been thinking about Rabbits. In this case rude skater buns. I think I might have come up with a new friend for Keith.  Also some Sphinx progress.

2022 March WIP 2 - Damn Dog WIP Round Up

SORRY I KNOW I KEEP DRAWING HIM.
But I just have been really into this dog. Been really happy with how he's come along and keen to make more use of him.

Anyway boat load of in progress stuff gathered up of different thoughts. I keep coming back to that 5 toe look, to the point I'm thinking of just letting him sometimes have them.

2022 March WIP 1 - WeedLord

Time to jump on the bandwagon, in this case the weed cat. I don't know, I just think the idea that's been doing around with Sprigatito is cute. So doing a bunch of alts and stuff to get a feel for a look and colours.

Will probably be running a few polls on some of the options soon enough. I like to try and make as many alternatives as I can and then pick what feels right and run those select few in the polls.

Pounding Paws

Boofs got some pretty tough paws that sure do get around the place, picking up all sorts of junk. But you try getting that dog to wear shoes for once and it's a drama, I swear.

Banner Boys

So one of the things I like to try and do is use my art for Banner on the old twitter dot com. Sometimes it's just a crop but in cases like with these it goes a little wild and I experiment with lighting and such. I figure that they come out nice enough to be worth posting.

I kind of messed up this month and didn't realize it was one of the shorter ones, that and this covid booster shot is kicking my ass. So some of my plans for this month are going to have to spill over into next month...

2022 February WIP 5 - I can't stop drawing these two nerds

Trying to get more used to drawing these two and getting a better feeling for them. They kind of occupy a similar space with similar idea in my head so I'm kind of needing to think on that.

Also trying to experiment with drawing Boof with glasses more, see how it feels. Also draw up some alts of him without to see how that looks and, I'm still not a fan. I'm feeling it's either glasses, hair over the eyes, or nothing for him.

Pampered Pup

Boof showing the paws off while and getting them treated.

The first one I might came back to in the future but the other are just some experiments with his paw shapes. I think when I finally get around to do a ref sheet for Boof I'll make it so he can have both kind of paw. Would add some verity, let people play to their strengths.

At the moment the glasses are winning in the polls so I might try and draw him in those for a while and see how that looks and feels.

Wip time!

So Something of Kassy being big, Something of Cappy getting more refined, and a bunch of variants of the recent poll. I wanted to try something out with Boofs face, I'm not sure of the pattern over the eyes but it's something to think about, maybe down the line.

2022 February WIP 3 - Mean Boy

Been thinking about those Capy beans being horrible to smaller folk.

The first one is pretty clear cut but the second one I kind of just went with. I need to think up some context for it, some kind of a lead in or dialogue.

Aaand just added two more because today was a bit productive. The third one I just want to draw him being large and intrusive. Fourth he's being a hungry boy.

2022 February WIP 1 - Jurassic Bark

Ah, that first WIP of the month smell.

I'm sorry I love this dumb dog and wanted to try him out as a big dumb cave man- ah dog.

There's something about the prehistoric set up that's just kind of neat.

Kick Off

OK SO little bit late but those backgrounds are a time sink man.

ANYWAY Boof and Cholla teaching the world about the kind of fun cats and dogs can have together. When they're about 100+ feet tall.

Also sorry for the low progress last month, was the holiday period and that's normally very disruptive. But it ended up being more so going into this year so I just didn't have the time normally do. It should be all sorted out now though so next month should have some pick up.

I had a thought and wanted to try it out so going to match the new idea against the last polls winner and see what you all think! I've been debating with myself on whether or not I should even post this over the last few days. But I should have just done it. I worry too much about being annoying with these things.

2022 January WIP 5 - WIP Round Up

Just gathering up some of the last minute sketches before the end of the month. Trying to do some of this stuff in a more timely manner.

But yeah, trying to get into having characters interact more. Also to get used to drawing two or more characters in a scene that are of equal sizes. I take forever to get poses drawn up and I want to work on speeding that up as much as I can.

OK so like the Boof poll last month this is something I've been wanting to go back too. I tried to do this sort of split ratio thing initially but it felt off? wasn't quite as appealing as I wanted it to be. So I've drawn this up and tried to address that but adding more fluff (option B) But I do like the idea of doing classic dragon to really nail that vibe home on him (option A) or just going balls...

The Boys

The boys are back in town, oh god the town!

Second one is something I've been meaning to touch up a little given the design changes on Boof. I just really like it's pose for some reason.

Anyway trying to see what I can get done in a short time to work fast and loose, focusing on the key forms. Still took like an hour and a half for that first image but I think it's looking decent for that time. Now if it was anything that was ankle up it probably would have taken three hours but...

2022 January WIP 4 - Socks and Shoes

Been in a real mood for shoes lately and it's starting to slip over into socks. Also mean dogs but that's been stuck in my brain for like the last 4 months.

But yeah so pretty happy with the pose on Boof there just need to work on a background and other things.  The in shoe POV is like a test, messing around with lighting fast and I quite like how it went. Going to clean these up and post them later.

Drakk Paw Poll 2

Here we go again. But ok so I've been thinking about the last poll on this topic and it's results. What I want to do with him and I've been thinking about a compromise. Idea being instead of going with the tan colour, going with a lighter yellow colour for Drakks palms and soles. That way it keeps the two tone feel while also keeping them yellow which I feel fits him better for what I'm after.

2022 January WIP 3 - Car Park

Was going to tie this into the previous WIP post but I need to stop trying to tie these uploads up into batches. I don't know why I just kind of keep doing that. So going to try my best to break away form that and try do to do more individual uploads instead of waiting a day or two to gather up any extras.

ANYWAY because of the poll been thinking on Boof, been thinking about a specific friend and OOPS this kind of came screaming out. It's probably not what people expected for a picture...

2022 January WIP 2 - Wip Round Up

I want to do more with Sunny so why not a in shoe POV? I'll put more work into it later but wanted to get the thought down. 

Looks like Boof is leading on that poll so I want to try and work on some things for him.

Also been thinking about trying out some stuff out with shoes! I should probably draw those more often.
