Sketch Dump Ramma Jamma

November WIP 1 - Stripes and Horses

Ok so I've been thinking about Zebras but I wanted to try out the pattern first to see how much of a wrist killer it might be and to see if I could simply it. I think I've come to a pretty decent compromise? I'll probably increase the stripes on the legs but I think the head and torso are rocking a good ratio, I think he's looking pretty good for something that's got quite a complex pattern.

I also didn't want to spend hours on a pose just for a pattern test that might not work out. So...

October WIP 6 - WIP Round Up 2

I was really aiming to get the Dog picture done before the month was out but I fell into some really bad headaches over the past few days so not much got done there sorry.

Buuut stumbled around and got something else together that kind of fits the monster theme of the holidays, so going to try hard on that.

Little update with some more spare of the moment wips.

Street Wide

This was a VERY quick and spare of the moment something that popped out of today when I was talking to Remmy, in between doing other things. Turns out cats and dogs can live together in harmony when they're both several stories tall and everyone else is the size of ants!

I think this month alone has given me a significantly better understanding of how to handle paws. Ok back into the art mines.

Road Block

I wanted to clean up one of the sketches and see how Drakk would look with all yellow palms and soles. But with proper work put into them. I've got to be honest I think I prefer them this way, I know it's not what everyone is keen on but it kind of fits with my idea of him in my head. I'll take some time and think on it though.

October WIP 5 - WIP Round Up

So this months kind of been very disruptive. So nailing specific pictures down has been a bit slow. But I want to get this one of Drakk and the road sorted. I thought I could just throw some colours on the original sketch but is just wasn't working so I've been having to clean up the line work for him. He is looking much better for it though.

October WIP 4 - Street Sweep

So there's this thing I've been wanting to try that I've seen other artists doing where they take the subject and treat it like it's a slice of of scene. Kind of like some of those book with diagrams that would show what the inside of a build looks like when it's pulled apart.

I kind of like them because it would mean getting to focus on the important details of the scene and not killing my hands trying to draw full backgrounds all the time. So it could be a nice compromise but I need ...

Demonic Ear Poll

Yes ears, the most terrifying part of the Satan goat. But yeah working on a boy from a while ago, just seeing what works between shapes and colours. I kind of like the idea of the inverted pentagram shape his head makes with the pointed ears, feels very thematically appropriate. But anyway poll time!

October WIP 1 - Halloween Costume.

I was asking around and got a horrible idea on what to do for this years spooky month involving Boof. It's super rough because I just wanted to get the blocking down for now.

Paws and Flip Flops

I have been lets say, in a mood for chunk paws in ratty sandals. Also for large dumb dogs.

Also been trying to do some speed work with this and the last batch, seeing what I can get done within an hour or two. I'm still pretty slow but I think it's helping me a bit to focus on the main points of a imagine rather than aimlessly detailing things, or spending too long thinking about them.

DnD - Dogs and Dragons

So I think I'm settling more and more on a feel for what my sketches should actually be like. I want to keep them quick and lose because I have this bad habit of wasting time on details and then it's weird to have a overly detailed arm and everything else is rough. So then I have to detail the rest and it's not great for getting things done or my hands. So it' good to fine something that fits the spot of "detailed enough but not taking two plus days to do"

Drakk Colour Poll

I'm doing that thing again where I hyper fixate on a thought. In this case I was messing around and quite liked the look of Drakk having a more solid yellow over his palms/soles. Gives him more of a reptilian or dragon like feel I think. There's two imagines because I wanted to show how it will look with the tan on his torso, belly, head and tail.

Home Alone on a Friday

Computer Problems

OK so I'll keep this quick. Been having some computer issues as of yesterday. I made file back ups and as of tonight now my machine wont start up. So until it can get it fixed I'm unfortunately going to have to put things on pause. I don't exactly have any other machines to use.

GOOD NEWS IS I have a friend who's great at this stuff and we'll be dropping it off with him early tomorrow. So what ever the problem is I'm hoping it will get sorted as soon as possible. I just don't know when ...

Boof Sketch Dump

Been in a sudden and strong mood for this big dumb dog (but also my angel BS.) Been really happy with the changes made too. There's even a few familiar faces in these.

September WIP 2 - Blue Shark

Been hit with thoughts about shark girls so wanted to gt this scribbled down so I can come back to it later.

Thinking about giving Sunny a friend who's a Blue Shark. Was looking around at species and they seem like a fun fit! Also fits in with a colour scheme I want to try (Blue and teal) that's been in my head for a while. Idea is she in the fishing industry. That's about as far as I've gotten so far :'v
