We start with penciling! The most important part is trying to figure out a nice pose with a good silhouette.
Then it's onto inks! The comic pages are traditionally inked but all the covers are digitally inked~ Jen does all the inks and she prefers to ink in Clip Studio (Manga Studio). The lines come out a lot smoother, plus Clip Studio has a really nice ellipses tool for all those difficult curv...

Jen: Gosh, this one of the the earliest drawings I've ever done of Sulvain and his wife Udaya. I created Sulvain before we decided to make Novae so he has quite an extensive backstory. I hope to dive into this particular chapter of his life later down the line or as a side comic! (Drowns in side comics)
Udaya is a particularly important person in his life and the time he spent with her is a pivotal period that made him the person Raziol knows now.

Was really experimenting with this piece!

Here's a collection of concept art I did in college and shortly after for a long time passion project. This is a sci-fi/fantasy story that takes place on Jupiter and Saturn's moons and stars a bunch of quirky adventurers that get into a lot of trouble. The story focuses a lot on female characters with complex backstories, planetary religion and man made destiny.

Here's this month's PSD!
This is another one from chapter 1, and one of my favorite pages. This one took me such a long time cause we were still figuring out how we wanted to color. So there's a lot of different techniques going on as you can see with the masks and watercolor brushes.
We eventually found a simpler way to get the watercolor effect we wanted but I''m still fond of some of the techniques we used.
