November Bulletin!

Hello everyone! Just wanted to post a quick update for you all.

First of all, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! We're so floored with all the support you've given us and we're working to make our Patreon even better!

We've been thinking about this AU where Sulvain is a flight attendant and Raziol is a pilot and oh boy, it's turning into a romcom and it's gonna be so much fun lol. 

We're probably gonna switch the goals around so we can start little comics in this AU if we hit $1000 :D

Novae Quarterly Wallpaper 2

Here's another wallpaper for you all!

This one is the wraparound cover for the 3rd issue of Inhabitant of Another Planet. As with the last wallpaper, this scene is another planet-scape imagined by Raziol, this time on one of Saturn's moons~

One of our patrons mentioned that they would like wallpapers for their phone as well, so we'll be posting another one for phones and tablets this...

PSD 3 - Chap 4 PG 05

Here's a 3rd PSD for you all! :D This one's a little simpler than the last two, but a good example of how we color the characters.  

For this chapter I decided I wanted to try something new with the closeups for Raziol and use some watercolor brushes on his hair. It was pretty fun once I got used to it~ :D

The layered PSDs for this chapter are a little different in that they have no masks or textures. That's because we decided to add the watercolor texture after all the color layers...

Development Sketch 04 - Nov 2017

Finally here's a first look of a character slotted to appear in the next chapter! Ah~ really getting excited for more characters in the cast!

I don't have a name for him yet haha... But he's the investigator's assistant :D We'll be learning more about him soon~

Novae Inking Chap 3 PT 2 PG 05

This video is a bit laggy 'cause my computer was acting up. It's sped up a little but it's still a good 16 min. Probably good to watch when you're working on something! 

I worked on filling in Raziol's hair at the end with a Pentel fude brush pen~

Our next process videos will be about pencil inking followed by coloring and then penciling~

Side Project - A Light Without Heat

So this mini project comes about through a failed anthology pitch. I was pitching to a tarot anthology and was trying out for the Moon card. 

This was planned for about 7 pages, but now that I look at it, it could be easily longer lol... (Shorts are hard for us) 

I'm quite fond of this project, maybe I'll include it in one of the stretch goals :D <---- has way too many stories and comics to work on .... lllorz

This one is for Sulvain's short comic that's updating twice a month for Star Cluster Patrons and above. The lady he's with hasn't appeared yet but she's an important character in the short.

We'll have another page of the short up for Star Clusters early next week! :D

Chap 4 Progress Update! Oct 16, 2017

We're almost done with the pencils and the inks! We'll probably be done with all 31 pages in the next few days. Then on to coloring which will be another 10 - 12 days or so. 

We're aiming to have the Chapter out for Twin Star Patrons by the 30th or maybe the 31st! :D

Factoid 2 - The Winged Mouflon

And here's a second factoid! This item is probably one of the oldest things Sulvain has in his apartment and it comes with an interesting history!

PSD 2 - Chap 3 PG 01

Here's a second PSD for you all! This one is a bit more complicated than the last, and maybe a bit confusing. But this is an example of a difficult page with a lot of layers! Whenever we have a page with a lot of props it tends to take at least 3 times longer to do from penciling to coloring. But I do love how it turned out!

For this page I really experimented a lot with masking and adjustment layers to get the effect I wanted and I learned a new technique in the process. It's always good to l...

Novae Inking Chap 3 PG 11

We have another Inking process video! This time the whole thing is normal speed. It's a bit long, around 17min, so it's good to watch when you're drawing something yourself and would like us to draw with you! :D 

Illustrated Prose 2

We included this with the second PDF. This scene takes place after PG40 in Chapter 2. Sulvain has returned from the lecture and is contemplating what he had learned.

Novae 1 Year Anniversary!

1 year ago on October 7th we launched Novae! We started with just a cover and now we have 3 chapters and 111 pages! The first volume is coming to a mini climax but will soon spiral into a much greater arc. 

We can't believe all the support that we've received since the launch. All the shout-outs, the wonderful thoughtful and funny comments, reviews, and all the beautiful gift/fan art and music. We couldn't be happier as creators, our hearts have been thoroughly warmed.

This is an extra scene we included with the first PDF. It takes place in the middle of Chapter 1 right after PG18 when Raziol takes a nap~
