Guess what guys?! We made our first goal!! Holy smokes thank you all so much!! 

That means, starting November, we'll be doing in depth tutorials and tips and tricks! To celebrate, here's some tips and tricks we did for one of our newsletters.  Tutorials will cover a lot more with a lot of pictures and details.

Side Project - Winter Worm Summer Grass

These two characters, Bay and Etel, are from a concept for a short story I did a couple years back. It's a sci-fi based on a dream I had about a planet that had it's sun blocked by a spaceship and always experienced winter. 

Gender and sex are very fluid on this planet and a person's physical biology changes and develops based on their needs.

Novae Coloring Chap 3 - PG 32

Here's a the complete clip for how I colored the Buddha statue in the 3rd chapter. This one is pretty sped up so I'll include a breakdown.

First I do a traditional pencil rendering of the Buddha statue. I scan it in, up the contrast, and erase to make it as clean as I can without loosing detail. 

Then I insert it into the page and clean it up a bit more. Then change the pencil lines to a different color to blend it in with the environment.

Thinking about later chapters and sketching out some scenes! Really looking forward to this scene actually haha. 

PSD 1 - Chap 1 PG 05

Here's the first PSD! Took us a while to name all the layers haha. I particularly like this page, because I used a new technique. I tried shading the horse statue with pencil and it turned out really cool with not too much effort! 

I use this technique later with a Buddha statue in Chapter 3. We'll have the process video for that later this month! 

I hope all the layers aren't too confusing, but enjoy!

Novae Inking Chap 3 PG 12

This will be our first process video! Process videos range from penciling to coloring and we'll post them at least 2 times a month.
