Secretly, I'm always a bit intimidated by this angle because of the back muscles, but the booty is so worth it 😅😅 for this commission I try real hard to give him a muscular, firm and strong looking butt, I think the Hamstrings really help to achieve that.

Painting Superman 4

For the highlights I use the same exact color samples for the entire body, so despite the color variations of the shadows, the skin looks cohesive and there aren't any obvious divisions in the end.

This pose looks cool, but it gets very confusing cause all the folds and the different muscle groups only partially visible, to me, the best way to approach this, is dividing the body in smaller parts so I can color them faster, always keep a limited color palette so they look like they're parts of the same body lol 😜

I love how everything comes to life when I add all the highlights, and the rim lights... I did this in several steps cause I didn't want it to look fake, I've made the mistake of having some dark areas with some weird rim light and it always looks unnatural, this time I planned ahead and added the light very slowly.

Per usual the most difficult and time consuming part is the face, I saved as many progress shots as I could, you can see how I was avoiding the beard area, that transition is a bit weird, but I added some color, little by little until it look good enough to add all the texture.

This illustration changed a lot during coloring, you can tell the suit was enhanced by the textures, and the body hair looked better in the line art, the face is gorgeous anyways 😅

As usual this file has the clothes in a separate layer, and the layer's mask is to keep some areas hidden when the suit is on, but you can turn it on and off.

Also, this one has a lot of adjustment layers cause I really wanted to get that perfect "outer space" vibe, so yeah, but maybe you'll like to see that 😅😅

Isn't he dreamy? I tried yet another technique for the body hair... I like it, still too subtle, but if I go harder it looks too fake, more room to improve.

But the skin looks right, and the anatomy is better than I anticipated, I hope you like it, oh and check out the outer space background 😅😅😅

So here's the finished illustration! I've drawn Mr. Cavill so many times that I couldn't help to get a little experimental with this piece, I wanted to try a different pose, lighting and a new way to present the bulge, I figured that he's wearing spandex, so... it shows 😅

Also, I've already draw him clean shaven and with "The Mustache" so I wanted to make a version with stubble, which is my favorite version. 😉

Let me know what you think, is the bulge too much?

I discovered a way to make the genitalia look soft by keeping the lines to a minimum and using a very narrow color palette when coloring, kinda looks more yummy to me 😅

This clean up was a bit challenging, I'm obsessed with sharp, clean lines and with all those details, it took a while 😅 but very happy with the end result!

This file doesn't have many layers, the technique I used for coloring was less elaborated than usual and the main focus was on the values, so I made most of the work in one layer and then added adjustment layers and filters, still, the PSD has better quality than JPEG I thought you might like it. 💜

Experimental art! this illustration was taking for ever, but is finally done, is based on an old photo I found on Tumblr eons ago... I love the effectiveness of this image, and a lot of it's elements really speak to me.

So I started this with a more relaxed approach, somewhere in the middle it got confusing, but finally made sense, the rendering is a lot less sophisticated than my featured portraits, but I think is effective, and that was the plan... I hope you like it 😘
