Starlord Alternatives

So we have a few different variations for this piece, in the end I decided to keep the main one shirtless with the raccoon, but the nude one is pet-less.

Painting process (the body)

For some reason the body goes down faster, maybe is the larger surfaces, or the fact that I don't have to worry about the likeness, I tried to refer to that scene in the 1st movie, when he's in jail and we get to see that torso for the first time!

A few screenshots from the process... I took a lot of time for this one, building up the color very slowly, the lines are in a separate layer in the "soft light" blending mode.

Starlord Lines

Without the textures, this background is more Art-Deco than Art-Nouveau... tried to add a little of that retro vibe from the movies.

Thanks a lot for the support on this piece, for the PSD file I tried to keep it simple, so basically you'll have separate layers for the background, Quill, the pants and the raccoon so you can turn them on and off as you wish... Also there are a few adjustment layers for you to explore!

This was an attempt to recreate the 1980's neon lighting in male erotica... not quite there yet; the client asked for a "Tom of Finland" approach, that I think I nailed.

To me the subject and the background are equally important, for this series I went all in with my favorite elements combined in a movie poster way. All five backgrounds have elements that reference the personality or superpowers of each character and fragments of poems or songs in latin, cause I'm weird like that  ❤ .

Thank you all so much for supporting this project, I'll be adding more content in the next few weeks, but also, I feel like is time to move on to new stuff, maybe I'll be adding a couple of characters like Colossus in the future; but for now I'm done.

Jean was actually my least favorite X-Men member, I liked Storm and Rogue better, but she's the OG female in the team so I wanted to pay homage to her making her as pretty as possible, also this background is my favorite of the series so I saved it for her.
