im back from FWA and back to work! i dont have any animation to show this week, so here's a sneak peek at the rough storyboards for episode 1 of nothing for nothing! a lot of the dialogue (if you can read it) and shots are placeholder, this is mainly to get the ideas down somewhere!

a LOT has gotten done this week!! switching over to the miniseries has proven to be the right call, i'm very motivated to get this done! all has been going extremely well! note that the lip syncing isnt fully animated yet, i'm gonna wait for the final voice lines to be in first so i can time them up to that before doing the proper inbetweens!
all that being said, i'm gonna be gone this next we...
a change of plans: a new miniseries!
after a good bit of thinking, i'd come to the conclusion that i'm just not happy making animations the way i am, i really don't want to make "Just Another Aimkid Animation" and i think it's showing pretty bad in my work and process, so... change of plans! i'm doing something i've been wanting to do forever: make an original work!
the current idea is to make a miniseries of 3-4 episodes total, each around 10 minutes of length! some of you might remember i actually attempted making a mini...

this has been a much slower week, mostly from a lack of ideas, so i'm gonna try and focus on that this week, namely getting some storyboards and thumbnails down so i can animate for a while without worrying about those! currently most of the work left is for the chorus which has had a bit of pressure attached to it since it's the most climactic part so i wanna have some interesting animation for it, but i'll get myself to put something down!

something nice is that a good amount of my passion for animating has been re-sparked by the decision to make this animation about a topic i care about, but on the flip side i'm now stuck without adderall for an unknown length of time due to national shortages and a friend suddenly passed away, so i'm uncertain how these next few weeks are going to play out

this animation's gonna be a bit interesting to make because i plan on giving every scene a dynamic transition into one another, no cuts! it sounds harder than it really is, i find doing transitions to be pretty fun to make + look at, so its a win/win

took this week pretty easy with some storyboarding, but then it took me all week to figure out something i keep figuring out then forgetting: i'm trying to make art, not just animation! that seems silly to say since its an inherent property of animation, but i mean i like to be pretty art-forward with my work which is something i've neglected as of late. i've neglected the enjoyment of work in general, so this week i wanna try and rectify that!

been another slow week, in all honesty im not sure how much longer i can do animation, between prior harassment and progressing mental illness it's just not enjoyable to do anymore, which kind of sucks given this is my job. i'm gonna try taking a week's break to cool off and work on some personal projects assuming this is just some kind of burnout, i'd much rather delay things than stop animating altogether

i've decided im probably gonna leave that TMBG animation on the backburner again since it's been a tough struggle to come up with ideas for it, meanwhile i was able to fill out 3-4 pages with storyboards for another 100 gecs animation, so for now i think i'm going with that!
the song on mind is "sympathy 4 the grinch" which seems a little silly since it's a christmas-themed song in an animation that would likely be coming out in the summer, but oh well there's more than one hemisphere ...
plans for the future!
its back to business! i'm gonna spend the next week or two actively figuring out what i want to do next, where my current plan of action is to try picking up that pseudo-papercraft animation i was working on last year, above are some screenshots of new frames! weird to think that this thing is already almost a year old, but hey it's already half-way done from my prior work on it, which is good news all-around

i'm gonna take a break for a week or so, but when i get back to work i'm planning on continuing that one "they might be giants" animation i was doing earlier last year! the one that was 3d with the paper cutout style and all that. also thanks for being so patient, this past year and a half has easily been the worst time of my life so it feels good to finally break out of that, here's to hoping that there won't be as big of a gap this time!
i'll be realistic and say there'll be a 6 month...

nothing to really show this week since it's just been boring tidy-ing of existing scenes, but progress seems to be going well! i'd say the estimate is still "a week or two". the primary priority now is scanning in any un-scanned paper animation which will be the focus of this week: scanning and coloring all remaining animation, and by extension, backgrounds!

almost all the colorable animation is colored, now i gotta go through the dreaded process of re-scanning a bunch of the paper animation then coloring that in!

nearing the end!!! if i can keep the ball rolling, all the lineart and coloring of the lineart should be 100% done this week!!! from there all that's left is a tiny handful of backgrounds, then coloring the backgrounds which shouldnt take nearly as long!

my mental health took a very sudden sharp decline this week out of nowhere leading to not much at all getting done, which has had me finally realizing that what i'm doing now just isnt sustainable, there's a lot i cant do anymore because of schizophrenia and i need to face the fact that i am functionally much less capable than i used to be and i need to seriously accommodate for that
while ive debated whether or not i can/should still do animation as a job, i've decided im gonna stubbor...

backgrounds are somewhere between 50-75% done!!! this week i'll be finishing that up, then its time for color which i believe should take less than a week, and BOOM just like that the entire animation will be done within the next 2 weeks (hopefully)!!! and thats a pretty realistic estimate!
