This wonderful piece by Paladin-Ciel (https://www.deviantart.com/paladin-ciel/gallery) comes courtesy of Keyblademark (https://www.deviantart.com/keyblademark).
It's a depiction of Agatha Neely - a shaman werewolf from the Lycanthrope Club: Old Wounds Novella.

Nathan emerged from the bathroom, damp but not wet, a towel wrapped around his slightly chubby waist. He paused at the threshold to turn on the bathroom fan and then stepped out into the hallway. The carpet pressed against his bare feet as he walked. Halfway to his bedroom he stopped again, frowned, and then cautiously sniffed the air. A faint yet unmistakable scent - floral, combining the soft, relaxing sweetness of roses with the spicy undertone of hyacinths - was wafting through the apartm...

The roadside diner was a relic of an era past. It resembled an oversized, undercarriage-less train passenger car decked with chrome and neon. Bright yellow and red awnings lined the windows and main entrance. A large red neon sign (currently unlit as it was daytime) reading 'Choppy's' in cursive 50's style font lined the roof just above the front door. Additional signs - some neon, some vinyl - were affixed behind the windows. The whole effect would have been quite striking, if somewhat gaudy...

Rob glared at the long rows of spiky waveforms as though they had personally offended him. He gripped his mouse and carefully, almost apprehensively, highlighted a small slice of the middle track. He right clicked and a menu with a long list of options appeared. Rob selected 'bass and treble' and yet another menu - this one fully windowed - appeared. He adjusted the treble, lowering it but not entirely cutting it from the section and then clicked 'OK.' The spike dipped ever-so-slightly.

Jody stared down at the flyer he had plucked from the message board outside the lecture hall. He then looked up at the house. It wasn't one of the run-down, flophouse-like residences surrounding campus favored by rowdy or frugal students. Indeed, it looked like a nice, two-story suburban house complete with a well-cut grassy lawn. However, the aforementioned lawn had two ping-pong tables set on it, one of which was littered with empty paper cups and beer cans. A crowd of students - male and f...

The third page was mostly blank with only a single line of text near the top. Nathan shuddered when he saw this; it implied that a long essay answer would be required for full credit. And, given the professor's track record, unless a very specific set of statements were incorporated into the response he wouldn't be getting many points for his effort. Nathan considered skipping the question for the time being but then saw how much it was worth. He sighed wearily and got to work.

The apartment door swung open. Its doorknob banged against the side wall in a manner that would have left a dent were it not for the small rubbery pad strategically positioned on the wall. Samantha half-staggered into the dim interior of her studio apartment cradling a pair of brown paper grocery bags in both arms, a heavy key ring dangling from her right middle and index fingers. She nudged the door shut with her shoulder and flipped a switch on the wall with her ring finger. A bright light ...

I've also decided I will again be accepting requests for stories, but with a twist!
Message me a synopsis for a short story and if I feel it has merit I'll write it and post it here, free of charge! However, said story must either a) take place in the Mythical Match Up universe or b) feature a magical app of some description. That is, the story must involve characters who use the Mythic Matches app OR some other magical app of y...

Nathan shut his eyes and, for the briefest of moments, convinced himself that he was standing in his bathroom in his modest, one-bedroom apartment on the edge of campus - that everything that had happened to him over the last hour was some bizarre waking dream or drug-induced hallucination. However, as soon as he opened his eyes, this notion was thoroughly crushed.
He was indeed staring at himself in a mirror, but it was an oversized, freestanding gold-rimmed oval mirror rather than the...

Hayes shut the water off and flicked his hands above the stainless steel sink. The little drops of water made surprisingly loud 'plopping' sounds as they hit the metal. He tore a paper towel from a dispenser above the sink and wiped his hands dry. He turned to leave but paused momentarily to check himself in the mirror. His raven-black short cut hair was still combed, his taut cheeks and chin, while lined with stubble, were not dirty or disheveled and his small nose ring was not misaligned. H...

Dr. Tsuru slowly walked along the narrow alleyway, his wrinkled face solemn; grave, even. He sniffed and glanced to his left and his right. Although the sun had long since set the hazy light emanating from the windows, paper lanterns and multicolored backlit signs arrayed haphazardly along the alley provided enough illumination to see by. Most of the businesses were pocket-sized restaurants and bars, nearly all of which were open despite the late hour. Some were empty. Others had a handful of...

I was thinking I'd give you (my Patrons) a chance to pick the next topic for the Daemoneye Podcast. If you have something you'd like to hear us discuss (or just some more questions) post them below. Anything under the admittedly broad umbrella of fantasy/sci-fi fiction, tabletop, console and PC gaming, science, technology and geek culture is fair game.
Though I afforded the same opportunity to my followers on devaiantArt I will give priority to suggestions from Patrons.

*DING DING DING*
Nathan sighed as he reached down into his jeans pocket. By now, the cheery three-note ringtone elicited a confusing, even contradictory range of emotions - hope, frustration, anticipation, resignation, curiosity and anger. He tapped the four-digit password on the screen and gazed down at the app icon. Sure enough, a tiny '1' had appeared above it. He tapped it and after a second or two's delay the screen turned bright red. The app logo then appeared above a loading bar....
