When we all got together for the first time as a band, we all moved into a house called Linden house. We had a pretty crappy PC recording setup that we used there to record all of our ideas for what would become Juturna. When we left Linden house, the computer ended up going back to Colin's house where he recorded some more things between Juturna and On Letting Go. We never used that computer again, but we held onto it for years, collecting dust at our second house, Chubb house.

This month's cover is 'Songbird' by Engine Down. This band was massively influential on us. They worked with Brian Mcternan as well and the sounds of their records were a big part of why we wanted to work with him so bad. I was lucky enough to see them play one of their really early shows when I was still in highschool and I can still feel the energy of that room to this day.
Hope you dig it and if you aren't familiar with their music definitely fix that!

For many years my Dad would write a Christmas song each year. I remember being a little kid and being completely awestruck by the magic of him strumming out these songs and then hearing him play them back through his little boombox tape recorder for all of us. I can say without a doubt that this was the number one inspiration for me to eventually feel like I could record my own songs years down the road. It was a subconscious game changer. A DIY seed planted in my brain that grew and grew.
