Desert Island, Expert

This one is the Desert Island (30x30), a tiny little clump of islands with nothing but a handful of palms and rocks. I'd say this would make for a pretty dire place to be shipwrecked and an obnoxious place to fight enemies that can easily move both on the land and in the water.

Your alternate versions of this map are Low Tide and Barren! The Low Tide variant connects the little pieces of land now that the water is lowered, giving you a bit more empty space to play around with. Or, mayb...

Beachside Ledges

This week's map is the Beachside Ledges (25x25), a tragic map because this is all I could recover of it. Yesterday I opened my files for this map to find it nearly half the size that it was the day before- 35x35. I have no idea how this happened, but everything that was cropped was deleted. I decided that, instead of scrapping the map and not posting anything, I'd at least post what I could put together. So anyway, here you go- it's framed a little strangely and is missing much of the image b...

Beachside Ledge, Adept

This is the Beachside Ledge (25x25), a map which encountered technical difficulties and is now significantly smaller than it should be. I recovered what I could but it's still smaller than I'd like and also strangely cropped, but even so I think it's still good enough for you to use, so go nuts!

 1. Here's an artist's interpretation of what this map was intended to be. In fact, this is what the m...

Beachside Ledges, Expert

Hi Experts! This one is the Beachside Ledges (25x25), a tropical map that had some issues- half the map was deleted and I didn't notice until a day later when it was too late to recover it. It's a shame, but it's been a while since I've had a catastrophe like this happen so I suppose I was due. Anyway, it's still usable but smaller than I'd like, so hopefully you can find an opportunity to put it to use. Here's hoping the rest of this month's maps go smoother than this one!

Tropical Beach

Hello again, folks! This week's map is the Tropical Beach (30x30), a basic tropical map which somehow I haven't made before, no stone platforms or cliffs or shipwrecks, just a pleasant beach with a bunch of palms and rocks. And that's all there is to it, enjoy!

Tropical Beach, Adept

Hello there, Adepts- this map is the Tropical Beach (30x30), a little stretch of beach with plenty of palms and rocks. And since I thought it looked awfully cheery, your alternate version is a swampy variant, with a yuckier palette, dimmer lighting, and a bit of swamp gas clogging up the air. I also imagine this looks a little jungle-y too, so maybe it could be good for a Tomb of Annihilation campaign!

Tropical Beach, Expert

Hows it going, folks? Is the time change messing you up like it's getting me? I don't like how dark it is so early, it's bumming me out. But anyway, this is the Tropical Beach (30x30), a tropical beach! Here you've got palms, sand, and sea, everything your adventurers need for a sweet vacation/battle against hordes of crabs/pirates/pirates riding giant crabs (whoa, that sounds awesome, I should write that down somewhere (somewhere other than here)). I hope you like it!

Seaside Cove

This week's map is the Seaside Cove (35x35), a tropical map! It's been a looong time since I've made one of these, and since I've received a few suggestions for more beach-y maps recently I figured I might as well slip one or two of these into the schedule while interest among patrons is at an unexpected high. Don't worry, I won't keep at it for months, just a few maps, I promise!

Seaside Cove, Adept

Hello again, folks! This one is the Seaside Cove (35x35), a teensy tiny cove with lots of palm trees and sand, simple enough that it can be slotted into any somewhat tropical adventures with ease. And, since it's tropical, your alternate version is rainy, because that's just how it is in tropical places. Enjoy!

 1. I've been messaged with suggestions for tropical maps recently by a handful of pat...

Seaside Cove, Expert

Hi Experts! This is the Seaside Cove (35x35), a nice and open waterfront tidepool arena for your party to fight and then eat giant crabs. In fact you could fight and eat lots of enemies here and in most of my maps, as long as you're hungry enough and lacking common decency. Yes, I've been thinking about Dungeon Meshi a lot recently, why do you ask?

Hilltop Circle

Hi again, folks! This map is the Hilltop Circle (40x40), a map that reminds me of the old maps I used to make- a path in the forest with something weird nearby. It's a nice classic setup that's relevant for lots of adventures, but it can get overdone easily so I'll be moving on soon from these forest maps. In the meantime, enjoy!

Hilltop Circle, Adept

I'm back again with this week's map, the Hilltop Circle (40x40), another map I had a hard time naming, probably because it's a fairly straightforward map along the same lines as many of my older maps- some interesting ruins to stumble across while out on a journey. Or, maybe this is where a journey culminates, hilltop ruins are perfect for grand rituals which, as we all know, are adventurers' favorite things to interrupt just as they're about to be completed.

Building on that point, yo...

Experts! Masters! Maps! This one is the Hilltop Circle (40x40), a bad name for a fun map but I saw someone on reddit post a map with the exact same name I was going to give this one so I had to come up with something else lest I look like a weirdo. Anyway, you know this place is crawling with cultists, druids, and/or archeologists, all of which will probably need an ass-whooping from a group of adventurers with a penchant for smacking bespectacled/berobed dorks who mess with powers they don't...

Hidden Cave

Hello folks! This week's map is the Hidden Cave (25x25), a small cave map with a super small entrance. This teeny-tiny map is perfect for bite-sized encounters, like if your party finds a hole in the wall and decides to squeeze in (for some reason)- maybe because they heard something weird inside or were told something by a villager about a magical grotto (which of course has treasure inside, right?). Either way, I doubt you'll have much trouble finding a use for this one, little caves can be...

Hidden Cave, Adept

Hi Adepts! This is the Hidden Cave (25x25), a basic and straightforward cave map with a conspicuous little island in the middle with an even more conspicuous dirt patch in the grass, around where I would put the focus of the map if I felt so inclined, like a monk deep in contemplation, a ponderous orb, a statue of an ancient hero, or a treasure chest. You know, adventure things. And, to give you something to start off with, I also whipped up a simple bonus variant with a dead tree in that spo...

Hidden Cave, Expert

Experts! This map is the Hidden Cave (25x25), which I guess all caves sorta are because they're underground, but this one is especially because it's both small (easy to miss), and the entrance is like 2 feet wide (hard to get inside). And, if you wouldn't mind, it'll be more hidden if you put some bushes or a tapestry in front of the entrance, so do me a solid and try to make it harder to find so no one complains about my bad names, thanks!

Your alternate versions are Caustic and Fey! N...

Hidden Mausoleum, Adept

This week's map is the Hidden Mausoleum (20x30)! It's a chapel that's only accessible by cave, which feels spooky but was hard to name (Buried Shrine? Entombed Tomb? Remote Vault? Cloistered Crypt?). No matter the name, this was a lot of fun to make, mostly because it's a rare treat to make small maps again, especially dungeon-y ones. Maybe I'll play in this space a little more before getting back to village maps (and soon, city maps).

Hidden Mausoleum, Expert

Hi Experts! This one is the Hidden Mausoleum (20x30), a fairly plain cave with a door inside leading to an underground mausoleum which holds a single ominously placed coffin. But anyway, the coffin has some bones inside or something though the cave is jam-packed full of ghosts.

Ok, so you'll notice that the files for this map are a little crazy. You're getting an Empty version of this map which doesn't have any of the Chapel or Mausoleum props, which all come with a Dark version too, a...

Lakeside Boathouse

Hello again Patrons- this week's map is the Lakeside Boathouse (40x40)! Here we've got a small shack by the water that looks to belong to a fisherman or hunter, located alongside a large dirt road. This sort of place could easily be a stop along your adventurers' journey, a side story or short quest for the owner of the building, probably to keep them safe from whatever's lurking in that water, or maybe they've been sent to look around and determine what happened to the hunter who lived out h...

Lakeside Boathouse, Adept

This week's map is the Lakeside Boathouse (40x40), a large, autumnal map! This one is a little less urban than the last few, just a shack on the roadside with some boats and other woodsy props, enough setup for a little side combat while on the road or a hook for a bigger quest.

Your alternate variant for this one is a Jungle recolor and also a bonus variant without the props and house! Obviously you can just use this one instead of the base variant if you just need the terrain, but wo...

Lakeside Boathouse, Expert

Welcome back, this week's map is the Lakeside Boathouse (40x40), a shack on the waterfront along a pretty big and winding road. Judging by the wheel tracks in the dirt this road gets plenty of traffic, which is probably why when monsters crawled out of the water word got to your party pretty quickly. The question is, will your adventurers arrive in time to save whoever lives in that shack from the creatures of the deep?

Secluded Village

Hello again, folks! This week's map is the Secluded Village (40x40), another autumnal village map! I have made forest village maps before, but in hindsight none of them were quite as forest-y as I would like. This time around these little thatched roof cottages are built around a little pond somewhere deep in the forest and are probably home to the kind of people who want to remain hidden away in the forest and might not appreciate a group of adventurers wandering into town and (probably) ca...

Secluded Village, Adept

Hello again, Adepts! This week's map is the Secluded Village (40x40), a nice and big map of a nice and small village. Not even a garden or stable in sight, just a ring of houses surrounding a little pond in the forest. Which of course got me thinking, whats the deal with that pond? No way it's just a pond, there's got to be a story there. Well, your alternate version makes a story of it, because apparently some nights it pops off and the villagers definitely have something to do with it or ar...

Secluded Village, Expert

Howdy, Experts/Masters, hope you had a good weekend! This one is the Secluded Village (40x40), a strange town that's hidden away in the forest. I say it's strange because there are no gardens or stables and the whole place is built around a tiny pond, which gives me cult vibes (though I suppose cults tend to be more farming-focused but this is a tabletop RPG so maybe that's not the case here). What I'm saying is, maybe the pond or something in it is sustaining the people here somehow, and the...

Village Green

I'm back! This one is the Village Green (35x40), a bustling intersection in a lovely little autumnal village, building on the energy of the last map in a more urban direction. I'm thinking I might spend a little time on villages for a few weeks as I try to flesh out this type of map a little further- it's been a minute since I've made these maps so I think there's room for improvement. Afterwards, I think the villages will lead up to cities when I've had my fill. I'm looking forward to it! View Post

Village Green, Adept

Hello there, Adepts- this one is the Village Green (35x40), a rarely seen village map! This one is a little less cramped than many I've made in the past and features a less nonsensical layout as I have bothered to use reference for a village map for the first time.

 1. Looking back at my old village maps, it seems to me that I tended to just place buildings at odd angles to each other and threw i...

This week's map is the Village Green (35x40), a busy village's green, featuring lots of little paths and a well. Kinda pleasant, huh? I can easily imagine taking a rest here beneath one of those trees, and less easily imagine fighting a bunch of merchant guards, bandits, or gnolls here.

Your alternate versions of this map are Blighted and Blossoming! Blossoming is trying to be a Spring-y map where the trees are covered in pink blossoms, which feels very wrong to me here but I keep tell...

I'm back again with this week's map, the Crumbling Farm (30x40)! This is the first one I've made since I've been back to mapmaking full time, so I thought I'd do something different, a little treat for myself to get myself back into the swing of things. So, this one is a simple farm crossroads with the ruins of an old farmhouse and a lovely new autumnal palette I've been working on. Honestly, I would enjoy making a few more maps with this palette to go alongside it, but that's mostly because ...
