The only thing on the way back that was consistent, ended up being the region of compressed biomes. For some reason, they seemed to stay where Rosha and Courtney had left them. An oddity in a constantly shifting landscape. The two were about fifty fifty on whether it would start shifting once they had returned to the clearing or if the outside pressure forced these locations to remain in place.
Whatever the case may be, it seemed to provide another stable point of reference in the ever ...

Out in the town, Jim is reviewing the bane of his existence: paperwork. He would much rather be out scouting the forest or delving the dungeon, but even if the Adventurers Guild understands and makes room for their members desire to adventure, paperwork is still required. If anything, Guild officials need to do more paperwork as they offload the work from regular adventurers.
Of course, most of that is taken care of by receptionists who specifically are not adventurers themselves. Not t...

Jason sighs, maybe the System is fairer than he gives it credit for. Then again, what is fair? His skills and abilities allow Jason to punch above his level, but the System had decided that wasn’t fair and so tried to restrain him. Yet at the same time, it has also given him a title which would allow Jason to manipulate the System itself.
The only problem was that the titles were too monolithic. Not as in size, but make up. Each title, besides maybe the titles which can merge and such...

Jason frowns, there was one other difference between discovery and knowledge bonuses. The discovery bonuses were more general, which meant more powerful. His very first double bonus is a good example of this. The knowledge bonus gave two percent using Energy Herbs as an ingredient or growing them. While the discovery bonus did almost exactly the same thing, except instead of applying to using them as an ingredient, it was just using the herb, period.
In fact, the bonuses for World Herb,...

Doyle is stuck thinking about his hexapes for a while, when suddenly Ally comes in and alerts him to something more important. Mainly that he once again has enough sapient sourced energy to create a new floor. This shocks him as he expected it to take a while longer. In fact, his expectation that this would be the case was a big reason he was spending so much attention on holding Ace and company on his thirteenth floor.
Ally shrugs, ‘We got a new influx of people. It seems that some o...

The kobold camp was blanketed in fire. While it wasn’t a heavy blaze, everything seemed to have a wispy coating of flame. For the inanimate objects, this at most crisped thin areas and darkened the edges. While it was fire, the actual temperature was quite low, all things considered.
The kobolds weren’t as lucky. This fire display wasn’t meant as some kind of area attack. Rather, Ace had focused the spell on making them feel the heat. To take advantage of how most creatures don’...

The duo’s trip hadn’t been filled with adventure, mind you. They will get enough of that, given time. No, what was more exciting was the terrain they had traveled through.
They had set out in the direction opposite of the settlement and within a couple days; it was clear that whatever was stabilizing the area bled off quickly. Or more likely, from Courtney’s perspective, it wasn’t stabilizing things, but literally pushing back the Deep Wilds influence.
After all, even if t...

Though for Jason, this discovery of the use of concepts in the Wilderness Construction did more than just help there. It causes him to look at all of his current skills with a new eye. While he didn’t have many, at the very least, the Herb Farming skill likely used concepts in a similar manner. And so he took a day to explore the effects.
Of course, Energetic Body Reinforcement both did and did not have concepts in it. Or more properly, it had exactly Jason’s three concepts; [Civili...

Over the next two weeks, the girls would make quick trips out into the forest, returning with various goods for the clearing. All the while, Jason focused on getting their house built. Yes, he was around more and so could have used a house sooner, but they needed a place to keep things they didn’t want to haul around nor keep in the same room he slept in. Plus, on the more selfish side of things, Jason would have more practice making a house when he gets around to his own.
Though some...

Not many rules on what you can suggest at the moment. That will mostly be figured out as we go. Besides that, the short story will come out before the end of the next month.

This shouldn’t be happening. It makes no sense! Why?
Though I guess for whoever finds this metaphorical message in a bottle, sent out into the Void as a desperate cry for someone to listen, I should start at the beginning.
I’m an unnamed dungeon core. Which to give a little more background, has a lot of meaning in my native realm. The only being that can officially name a dungeon is a person who has conquered said dungeon. To go even a year without a name is rare as every orga...

I cautiously made my way into the dark. Not too cautious, though, I did have to traverse an area the size of a city, after all. At least there was a guiding light, quite literally.
Directly in front of me and about two-thirds of the way across the room, a weak ray of illumination shone down on a jumble of rocks. Not proper sunlight, mind you, but more mushroom light. It seemed to me that the roof had collapsed at some point, probably because of the monstrous fight. And as luck would hav...

Jim and his team made the trip through the jungle. Which was honestly a bit boring for them. The only fight on the way being with the three kobolds transporting mithril ore. However, that boredom was soon quenched in battle. The twenty kobolds, three of which were earth mages, fought a tough battle.
In fact, despite having fewer kobolds, fewer mages, and no healer, the group at the mine ended up being the tougher fight. Why? Because the three mages they did have were of the same element...

After that, Rosha and Courtney hang out at the clearing for a few days, mostly helping with the soon to be pond. After all, there is more to a pond than a pit in the ground and some stagnant water. You need the proper kind of ground and some kind of flow. Of course, this does mean you might luck into making a pond, sometimes by accident if you dig in the wrong place.
Jason, however, wasn’t leaving it to chance. So the first step was to test the soil itself. Simple enough, as all it re...

It was hard to see, what with the trees in the way, but Ace could tell they weren’t hardly any distance into the floor. Maybe if this floor had monsters distributed like the others, that wouldn’t have been a problem. However, with the way the bird monsters were attacking? Each swoop of the giant birds required a lot of effort to deflect or defend against.
So, if they waited until they needed to turn back, chances were they wouldn’t make it. Ace had no delusions the birds would sto...

After the excitement over the ingot, the party settles in for a long rest. The term “overnight” was bandied about, but they didn’t exactly have watches to know for sure. Time didn’t actually flow oddly for the delvers, but always being on the edge tended to make it feel like it was.
Of course, a long rest isn’t just a time to sleep. It is also the time to maintain their gear and relax. Well, when not in watch. Though they can manage with two people on watch, which leaves the o...

Though Jason was going to have a little more time to work on the clearing by himself as the trip back was a lot less peaceful. Back with Jason, the clearing had gone through some changes. When the first building had been put up, it was more rough than refined and he wanted that to change. While they had been using it as a place to sleep, none of them liked to. The ground was only flat-ish and the walls were more log cabin than a wooden house. Which, to be fair, is pretty damn good for their situation.
However, Jason could do better. This wasn’t some historical reenactment simulation. They had mystical powers,...

OG didn’t give up right away at trying to scratch the ingot. After all, even pre-system, there were various alloys and treatments that could result in strong metals. He was doomed to fail.
The dagger that OG was using had dropped on the second floor, which he carried around for non-combat purposes. Until now, this worked. While it certainly had a tougher time cutting stuff from the deeper floors, mithril is a different story. It was impossible for the vendor trash tier dagger to even ...

While they had planned to hit up the nearby settlement, they had noticed the sound of heavy strides in the distance and the presence of horse monsters. Not long ago, Ace and his party had faced a similar situation of a four spell barrage. That alone had forced them to retreat as two of the party had been wounded seriously enough that they wouldn’t be able to fight properly. The only saving grace at the time being that the kobolds wouldn’t leave their camp.
Now, though, things were different. While having multiple powers could slow you down and sometimes limit your power, it had one major upside no matter what. Multiple powers meant...

The three blue high goblins, in their late attempts to dodge Jason’s throwing knives, tumble backwards as their legs give out. Each has a dagger stuck in one of those legs, making any attempt to stand up much harder. For a regular player or local, the wound might even be considered enough to keep them down. Monsters, however, are made of tougher stuff. That, or only the tough survive, either works.
Too bad for them it is still an impediment enough that Rosha can slam a few arrows home...

Doyle took stock of how much extra space he had on the floor. To make the cavern, he had basically turned the sphere into a rectangle and carved it out. This left the corners as free space and given the flattened egg shape of the cavern itself, there was more than enough space for the farm.
Then he placed 170 kobolds on one side and an equal amount of myconids on the opposite side. Which, annoyingly, showed they didn’t quite fit right in the floor proper. Or more to the point, Doyle h...
