FOTM April: Mouse Ashley (Moushley) - Resident Evil 4

I'm not particularly fond of this silly creature nor I "get" the meme, but I gotta stick to the "Flavor of the month"-rules I've set to myself! I haven't seen such a strong contender in a while, so I was relieved that I didn't have to think too hard this month.

March 2023 Diary

Playing video games (Octopath Traveler 2) or waiting for them (Resident Evil 4 Remake) doesn't make for a very interesting diary-entry, so here are my thoughts about elevators.

600DPI Lottas

I usually scan the hand-drawn illustrations with 300DPI since that's quite enough, but I wanted to try scanning them in larger quality for a change. After the scanner taking as half as long, here are the results.

First picture is the proto-Lahja when she has wavy hair.
Second drawing is about the layered clothing during winter. I am not 100% sure what were worn underneath the uniform during winter, but in summer it is much lighter.

Octopath Traveler 2 Set

Due to the game's simplified pixelated artstyle it inspires me to think up how certain scenes and interactions would look in illustrations.

Here's a few ones that are still a work in progress, so there might be little changes when I upload these publicly.

For the style and colors I wanted to replicate the Ending- and Crossed Path-illustrations as seen in the game, like this. Getting the color balance just right proved to be tricky.

Hoo boy this time around I drew the characters too big so I had to use several boxes to include all the characters. Luckily I had some empty space in the older ones.

I haven't played the game yet but I have heard only good news about it.

Naomi Hayward - The Good Life

Work in progress of the main character of The Good Life. Drawing might be polished further when uploaded to the usual places.
I want to say a few selected words about the game on Tumblr later, so I did some illustrations to go with it.

Included the original drawing where I thought to draw her with my usual round head aesthetics, but angular lines was the way to go for this lady.

When I was thinking about if further rather than Suletta Mercury, who I drew because I liked the design, wasn't actually as frequent character as this odd blob, so here's an another Flavor of the Month for the January.

January 2023 Diary

Off to a great start with drawing and video games! Oh God, video games! There's so many good ones coming out this year that I need to balance out what to actually get..!

Lotta Chests

I'm a fan of how Yoshida draws boobs, but the artist hasn't been open for commissioning for a while so I took the matters in my own hands and drew a what-if illustration of how Lahja would look like with exaggerated chest.
Helle for a comparison.

Due to the NAUGHTY nature of these drawings I'll keep them Patreon-exclusive because boobs this big aren't what Lotta Svärd is about.

FOTM January 2023 - Suletta Mercury

It was a hard one deciding on the Flavor Of The Month-character this time around, so I drew the main character from Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury, an anime which had its last episode of the season in January. I've seen her being drawn more than usual.

I haven't seen the anime myself yet, but I like Suletta's thick eyebrows.

There has been some issues with the Bone-tier tips so I'll make future posts available for those users too.

I started drawing these in February, so January was left behind. I asked on Twitter if anyone knew who was the most popular character early this year and one good answer was Marin Kitagawa from Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru.

Now the year is complete.

FOTM December: Princess Peach

From the latest Super Mario Bros. movie trailer. I never enjoyed drawing Peach & the other Mario girls as it's hard to get them look like themselves, but it was a good practice for this month's Flavor Of The Month-character.

I had some leftover cardboard from the pizza box illustrations so it's a good excuse to draw this month's illustration on same cardboard as well.

Lotta Svärd - Name Puns

It's December soon, and a good reminder of the time of gifts and giving.
Most Finnish names have some sort of pun, song, rhyme or saying regarding them. There are puns regarding the names of the rest of the cast, but they don't work as well during the winter arc the comic is currently in.

Deciding for the "Flavor Of The Month"-character was difficult this time around, as there has been no clear favorite who has gotten more art than the other.
