I'm back.

I was away for a few days visiting family, but I'm back now.

Dawn of the first day.

The new mouse is here and it's working well so far, although I've only fiddled with it for a few minutes.
It's quite a bit heavier than my old mouse, so I took the weights out and now it's much better. I still have to download the software and set some macros for a few functions I use a lot in Blender, but that's it. I'm hanging onto the packaging and such, just in case I run into trouble with it.

Mouse purchased!

Picked up the Redragon M908 Impact, it'll get here in a couple days. I know the poll was tied for two slots, but I found that this mouse reviews well AND fits the budget of the lower poll option, so it's a win-win.

I'll adjust the budget right after posting this, I stacked a couple discounts to get it at about $31 and some change, so I'll just dock the budget by $30 to keep it simple.

Jokes aside, I'm still poking around Amazon for great, well-reviewed mice with a minimum of two side buttons.

New mouse?

Like I mentioned in the last post, my mouse is starting to have issues. Not BIG issues yet, but it's getting there.

The mouse I'm using, the Logitech G400s, I got it from the Radioshack clearance sales, however many years ago. It's a nice mouse, but I'll recap the issues:

1. Once, maybe twice a week, the cursor will drift upwards on its own, fixed by adjusting the sensitivity up or down. It's an easy fix and I don't really mind when it happens, I just kinda grunt and fix it, heh.<...

PC and self health update:

I think it's been a while since I did one of these, I probably could've just scrolled down, but eh. 

PC:
-CPU fan is getting a little louder, hasn't failed yet, I'm not in panic mode yet. My CPU has one of those crazy-huge heat sinks on it, so I'm not too sure I even NEED a fan, ha.

-Once a week, my mouse starts drifting upwards for no reason when I start my computer, fixed by hitting one of the sensitivity buttons on it. Kinda weird, IDK.

Yup, no family emergency to worry about.

Outside of some birthdays at the end of this month and the beginning of next month, there shouldn't be any family stuff going on, no family emergencies or anything.

Side note, I just released the Blaze model for anyone to play with, go pick it up on my pages, or nab it directly from my MEGA if you're a Patron.

Quick, probably unrelated news:

It's not likely to affect me, but I have a close family member who's having a lot of trouble lately. She's definitely going to be asking for help from every family member in the area pretty soon, but I think I live a tad too far out and I doubt I can help her move out of her apartment, considering my motorcycle can't carry much.

Worst case scenario, I'd have to ride over to her apartment and babysit her three kids or maybe help load a U-Haul or something. Still, I doubt this will affect...

The budget and how I should spend it

The budget is starting to pile up again, so I'm going to have to start thinking about what sales and such I should look into. Yeah, it might be a tad early, but I figure I should get it out of the way.

The biggest issue with my current computer's build is that the motherboard (the big honkin' circuitboard everything connects to) is old as heck, so I am using a bunch of parts that can only fit mobos from that era. My CPU is the current bottleneck, but I'm already using one of the better ...

Newgrounds got less votes than I expected (I guess even the Tumblr purge wasn't enough to bring the site back from the dead?)
Ironically, Tumblr itself got more votes than I thought, considering most of the site turned into a prude hugbox that disallows anything...

Completed math on budget, and redoing the poll:

First thing's first: money. I went back, counted the income of all the months, tallied them up and compared them with the costs of old part orders on Amazon and ta-da!
The new total is complete and stuck in the budget counter at the top of the page. From now on, everything will be down to the penny.

GIFs in the MEGA folder?

(Wouldn't make much sense if I made this poll Patron exclusive.)

Simple question: Should I include GIFs in the MEGA folder?

Pros:
-Backing up more stuff is always nice.
-Keeps the MEGA more active in times when I make less MP4 animations.
-In extreme cases, they could be uploaded at a higher quality than on dA and FA, due to GIFs tending to run huge.

Cons:
-GIFs tend to run huge. Most of them that I upload average around 8MB, which would...

Changes to how I tally the budget:

Starting next month, I'm going to switch to using the payout totals to calculate the budget, instead of just rounding up and tacking it to the budget counter all willy-nilly every month and every time someone new pledges.

This method should be simpler, and it means I don't have to keep track of different pledges as they come and go.

Side note, I'm thinking maybe I might buy another hard drive for my computer. It mostly depends on how much I can clean out on the current one, though...

Just a quick reminder:

Just a quick reminder that although both my dA and FA pages are about 95% the same, the FA account has a couple extra posts that are just a tad too adult for dA's rules.

I mean, it's not like the two accounts are like night and day or anything that extreme, it's just a piece here or there, sprinkled in once every blue moon. Once or twice, I've made alternate versions of an animation or a picture so that both sites can enjoy it, but I don't always do that, for one reason or another.

Themes and the future.

Hoo boy do I have bad timing for getting really busy IRL. No biggie, though.

I want to start thinking about putting a bit more thought into animations and pictures, so here's my first idea: themes! What kind of situations and environments should I gravitate towards for a while?

-and I have to reiterate that it's not very important or urgent, but I think my CPU heatsink's fan is going out.

The main reason it's not so important: the heatsink on my CPU is one of those dumb, oversized heatsinks; like, not even kidding, it's about half the size of my head. I could use the dang thing without a fan and my CPU would still be safe. A replacement fan would probably be like $5 USD, so if the CPU temps get worrying, I'll be able to replace it dang cheap and quick, so it's...

Yeah, poll results! So the majority wants the MEGA to stay pretty clean, and wants me to do more animations to keep it from going stagnant. The other poll choices weren't completely buried, so I'll slip in some GIFs, WIPs and such if they're interesting enough to justify it.

Tiebreaker; what should I add to the MEGA?

Eh, three of the options were pretty close, so I'm running as second poll that's narrowed down and not multiple choice.

I'm still holding off from actually adding anything new to the MEGA until the 1st, because I don't want to goad anyone into paying $5, then charging them a second time two days from now.

Seeing as I don't always do animations, I figured I should ask, what else should I add to the MEGA?

One thing to mention, the more stuff I include, the more likely I'll hit the transfer and storage caps, for better or worse. When I hit those, I'd have to upgrade the account using a piece of the Patreon budget. I mean, it's not expensive, I figured I should mention it anyway.
