aaand end arc I. Finally.
Melody
From the start of the invasion all the way up until this point, Melody felt like she’d somehow been trapped in an illusion. She was unsure if it was the couple drinks, she’d had at the inn that night, a bad stew, or just the otherworldly feeling of the entire situation, but she’d had a hard time accepting the current events as reality. Even now after they’d captured six strangers who came breaking out of the dungeon en...

Cara
“Cheer up, laddie, we won! ‘Iddn’t we?” Brick, Cara’s bonded brownie companion, said while he chuckled and licked his lips. He was sitting on top of a worn-down building inside the troglodyte warren, the same place where Cara’s core was encrusted into the roof. Both of them had watched the mercenary army fight their way through the dungeon, unable to stop them without the element of surprise.
“I know, Brick. I’ve just got alon...

“We did it, Ash. We managed to repel the entire invasion, only six of them survived!” I was more excited than I thought that I could possibly be. With Cara and I’s combined efforts, we managed to save all the villagers in the forest, capture all the female aggressors, and kill almost all of the invaders. We both suffered losses in terms of our creatures, but our gains were enormous.
Back when the small group tried to pry Cara’s cor...

Couple of continuity issues here, this chapter might very well be moved earlier to around fifty-five or six. Need to figure out when the ambush gets triggered, don't mind me.
UPDATE: Pulled the trigger, this is the new 55. All other chapters offset by one

First and foremost, the humans I’d accepted as my followers made it out alive. Or I guess it was more accurate to say they made it in alive, as they traversed all the way to “center” of my fores...

I heard you guys liked longer chapters. See below as to why all of Kyrel's misadventures weren't compressed into a single chapter like I'd originally intended.
Kyrel
The mages dedicated themselves to guiding the group solely by magelight from that point onwards, not keeping any of their fuel in reserve for combat spells. Traditionally, magelight(s) were a very mana efficient school of magic. In the current setting, however, the dungeon slowly...

Kyrel
After plummeting through the air for a second or two, Kyrel collided with a steeply sloped ground. He struggled to halt his decent with either his hands, feet, and prayers, but he continued to viciously drop in altitude. The sound of scrambling above him and below him let him know that he was nowhere near the only one who had lept before he looked. Thankfully he didn’t break anything in the fall, and with any luck this would be his group escaping from...

Taking a couple weeks off work, going to try and treat you guys better in the mean time. I apologize for disappearing, had a death in the family and shit got really busy really quickly.
Slowly I made my way towards where Brook was secured, walking with a shambling gait as similar to the deceased guard as I could, as not to raise any alarms from any casual onlookers. From where she was huddled on the ground, Sophie looked up towards me and started whimpering...

Unfortunately, the two groups I was watching did not instantly start fighting. As much as I would have been sad to see my not-so-carefully laid plans go to waste, allowing them to slaughter themselves would have been a lot more convenient for me. I missed a lot of what was said between the groups before they backed away because I was busy trying to digest, for lack of a better...

Okay, so Brook might be a total traitor, not worth even a little bit of my sympathy, but she was also a human just like me. Also there was Sophie. Sophie saved my life at the risk of her own the first time she found me but wandered off with Brook when she robbed me. Even after I saved her from the harpy. I decided then and there I would do my best to rescue the ungrateful bitch… and my dog.
I was still very injured and exhausted so I was going to have to be ver...

Since the group of stragglers entered my domain I’d been watching them with my own senses, rather than with the barn owl’s eyes. The group seemed to be built of a large number of children and elderly villagers, probably the kids of the cultiti-followers collected around the dungeon entrance. The varied pretty widely in ages, with the larger kids carrying or holding the ha...

This was the deepest I’d ever seen the cult come. Unfortunately they found a way around my nighttime visitor ban and managed to collect around the dungeon entrance before the sun set. There were even more of them than usual.
“Look how many of them there are, Manning. You must be getting all kinds of energy from them.” Ash was also watchi...

Another Technocide tonight. Still not sure how you guys feel about me doing other stories here, if it's unwelcome let me know.
I consider myself to be a lot of things. I’m a smartass, and occasionally a dumbass. I’m smart, and I’m dumb. But I’m not an idiot. After escaping the wolf I was feeling particularly vulnerable and alone.
I know I told myself I’d rather be captured by bandits than rough it out ...

Skeleton for next TCD chapter is typed out, should flesh it out and post here tomorrow. Was in the mood for some Techo tonight
I did not dream of Martha again, nor did I dream of Brook like I feared I might. My dreams were devoid of both the blonde baker's daughter and the red headed damsel turned robber. They were devoid of everything, actually. One minute I was finally closing my eyes and falling to sleep and the next I was falling from the tree.
Now it should ...

Patreon does not like blue boxes. That being said the formatting from this story will always look a little weird. I haven't updated this story in a while, and I don't know of any of you read it on RR. If you do, sorry and let me know so I know to give it a little more TLC.
Going to build a backlog of this one on here before I resume on RR. It's officially old enough to make it to trending so I will want to do daily uploads, and haven't been in the daily writing mood recently.

And so begins the end of Arc I.
Jeremy
It was nights like this one that reminded Jeremy that the frost season was rapidly approaching. Usually this meant that his meals would be a little sparser to offset the increased prices and that he would be doing a little bit of hunting on the side to supplement his meals. This year was a little different. This year was Jeremy’s first year tending field, assisting the Lupanes, and he was trying to help them brin...

“Welcome everyone. Welcome to this week’s gathering of the yet to be named church. For most of you, this is the deepest that you’ve ever been in our god’s forest. The closest you’ve ever been to your divinity.” Gladil paused and ran his eyes over his congregation, measuring the effect of his words on the flock. Every week the size of his gathering increased by a face or two. Even now, when the forest has been deemed dangerous for night travel, he had a reco...

“Alright, Brick, I am ready for you to explain how to make the skill crystals.” Cara had been putting it off for a while now because there wasn’t really a reason to learn it before. In the past if she wanted to impart skills to her troglodytes, she would just force the knowledge into their brains via their connection to the dungeon core. Now that she had just finished her tenth floor, however, she wanted a prize worth giving to the select few who battled their way th...

Although it wasn’t my original plan, the roaming trial seemed like a nice addition to the forest. When the new corrupted sylva had been born I was shocked and worried. Ash had already explained that sylvas were awakened trees spirits and had the ability to awaken other trees that had lived long enough to become sentient. Nothing in my forest should have met that threshold and the fact that the original sylva had picked his silver pear tree as a home.
When she...

Manning.
The sylva that now called my forest home was an interesting creature. Ash had told me time and time again that the sylva was not a fairy, but watching the way she interacted with the forest and the wanderers around her, I’m not sure I buy it.
At first she was a very shy creature and would flee to her pear tree whenever I had guests, which wasn’t super often, but that gradually changed. Since she’d arrived she got more accustomed to the forest travelers and wand...

Hey guys! I don't know if you've noticed but I decided I would try out the NaNoWriMo challenge and use the Technocide story since it's based around new novels. I am going to try and stay a day ahead the entire time and will be posting the chapters here first (unless you all hate that in which case let me know). The Caring Dungeon is not going to be dropped, and I am still going to do at least a chapter a week but Technocide is just a bit more fun/easier to write right now.
