Bonus lore mini comics

I’d like to do some little mini comics explaining some lore/world building stuff for Sparks! Stuff that isn’t vital to know but is fun and interesting anyway (in my opinion lol) I figure eventually I can use them as bonus pages in between chapters on Tapas, and of course I’d share them here with $3+ patrons right away!

So I’d love to know what you would personally be interested in info on? I’ve made a poll with a few options but if there’s something else that interests ...

Here we go, one day late!! Thanks for waiting everyone :) My vacation was awesome and much needed, it was so nice to get away from the city for a while and not think about my job that I hate LOL

Early or late sketchbook this month?

Hi everyone!!

I'm going on vacation for a week tomorrow- I'm so excited, my work has been extremely stressful ever since the pandemic started and this is my first break! I'm very lucky that we have no active cases in Nova Scotia, and me and my partner are going to go stay at a remote cabin on a lake and do some hiking hell yea

But!! Because it is a remote cabin, I won't have any access to the internet! I get back on the 1st of October, so I figured I'd find out if you'd all prefer...

Sparks pages 58-60

The next three!! I’m working Sunday this week to cover for a coworker so today is my only day off, so I was like okay I gotta get these done and BOOM I did it 😭🙌 

here we are, going into the city! With a goof from the guards cause I couldn’t help myself... I’m really proud of page 59, it was really good background practice! Turned out a lot better (imo) than I thought it would, and I’m kind of looking forward to drawing more backgrounds like that now hahaha

After the last 3 pages took me so long I was determined to do these ones faster! The boys FINALLY arrive at the city- and run into a couple of city guards!
Hoping to keep my speed up with this scene because we’re getting really close to two super fun scenes I’ve been waiting to do since I started hahaha 😂

I finally finished these pages!! I don’t know why they took me so long... they weren’t particularly difficult (okay the horse/cart were extremely difficult LOL) I just had a mental block on them I guess! Sometimes I have to remind myself in the grand scheme of things each page isn’t getting scrutinized as an illustration on its own, it’s just there to tell the story, and it’s better to just get it out than agonize over it.

SO... YEAH... AT SOME POINT THIS MONTH IN A WEIRD FEVER DREAM LIKE STATE I THUMBED 35 PAGES OF THIS ONE SHOT... idk what to say... I estimate completed it will be around ~50 pages! I'd like to finish it in a looser lining style than Sparks, but do it in full colour. I feel bad that I only got 3 pages of Sparks done this month! Luckily I have a very large buffer as you've all noticed so it doesn't affect tapas uploads at all, but still I would've liked to get more done... this was mostly because I caught up to my thumbnails, so rather than work on pages I put my energy into thumbing a good chunk ahead!

HERE WE GOOOOOOO 18 pages this month!! Lots more character development, including a couple of new sets- the fish scaley boys are from a NSFW mini comic I've been thinking about, and the humans are from a very new very vague setting idea I had that I might play around with more at some point! But as per usual the main focus here is satyrs ;)

Bridgetown (Vampire project)

I wanted to talk a bit about one of my other comic projects, which I've called 'Bridgetown' (name might change in the future, but I like it!) 

This project is 100% on the backburner- Sparks is my priority, and I have a scifi project I'd like to do after Sparks, so Bridgetown in my mind's schedule (lol) will be after that. I want to be as good as I can be when I make it, because I want to do it really well.

Sparks page process

I’ve been meaning to make a post of this for a while! I thought it might be interesting for people to see my process of making a page? I didn’t screencap this during making it- just went back and turned off/on layers to make a basic process of how I do it, so it’s not 100% accurate but very close! I’ve captioned each image with a description of the stage!

Let me know if you like seeing this kind of thing 🙌  I’ll be tagging anything similar to this as ‘process’...

July Sketchbook 2020

Yay, here's my sketchbook for July!! 22 pages this month, much better, I feel like I've finally gotten a handle on my schedule at work and found time to draw again!

I'm a day late, sorry!! I had an extremely stressful couple of days re:work BLEGH but got it under control now! The sketchbook for June is 14 pages, features a lot of outfit development for Sparks, and some new satyr faces! 

Patreon Changes!

Hiya!! Just giving yall a heads up, I made some changes to how my patreon works!

Big bunch!

Now that I've revamped my patreon a bit and decided to post pages as I complete them for the $3 tier, rather than as an end of the month upload, I have some to catch you up on! From now on I'll be uploading pages in batches of 3 as I complete them :) Enjoy reading ahead!!! I've really enjoyed making these pages- Atlas and Philo getting to know each other a bit better

Update on Sparks! I completed 3 new pages (19-21), and there are 3 WIP pages included as well (22-24) 

Having a lot of fun, I did a lot of studies of comics this month too (I haven't posted these because I literally just trace compositions and paneling to try to understand it better) and hopefully that'll show in the future lol... we'll see!!

May Sketchbook 2020

Here's my sketchbook for May! Only 12 pages, my smallest yet :'( sorry! Honestly this is because this month I got back into playing WoW again for the first time since... like 3 or 4 years ago... I went pretty hard but now I'm ready to even back out and get back into drawing more regularly again, lmao.

Sparks pages 1-18

I started my satyr comic this month and completed 18 pages!! I haven't shown this anywhere except to my closest friends so please enjoy! The first 18 pages are complete, 19-21 are WIPs, and I included my two pages of thumbnails as well (and my template because I couldn't be bothered removing it from the folder LOL)
