After the Toxic Epilogue page, I have a 2-3 page Halloween comic planned. These sketches are warm-ups for that, but not part of it. But now I may have a handful of pinups to also work on!

So, a few days ago I worked up a pretty good schedule for this month - this week I would knock out this epilogue for Toxic Candy, and finish some in-progress commissions. Then over the next week or two, a Halloween comic. After that, either 3D Daisy's face rig, or more commissions.
I'm already behind schedule. The epilogue page is drawn & inked, at least, but some unexpected things pulled me away from getting it colored this week.

A while back, I had this idea that Daisy might moonlight as a stripper in another town, in order to make her loan payments during slow months. I haven't decided yet if that will indeed be canon - technically it can't be, because mini-Rose & Monique aren't - but it fit perfectly with a recent commission...

My commission list is officially open! It's been a while, so I'm changing things up a bit. The first change is that there won't a set number of slots: the list is however long it ends up being. The second change is that I will only send an invoice once I'm ready to start. Even if it takes weeks for me to start, we can discuss the details until then. Good news - I'm currently working on a commission of Daisy, Rose, and Monique, that I think everyone will enjoy.
BETTER news - the idea inspired me to plan out a comic page prequel, as well as a follow-up image!
The commissioned image is also technically the first test of Daisy's rig, which is so much easier than trying to pose the unrigged bones. The nutty part is the 3D preview was close enough to my thumbnail sketch, that I almost didn't need to bother.

Speaking of Daisy, her rig has reached that point where small tasks become very draining, either because of things going wrong that require me to fix old scripts, or because I don't know precisely what I'm doing. Story time!
During my road trip last year, I'd gone too long without drawing or even having any good ideas, so I started brainstorming. One idea that may get used eventually, is Monique buying Daisy's loan from Candice's bank. And you can bet Monique would at least tease her with that!

Taking on a few commissions over the weekend might've been just what I needed, as they gave me time away from Daisy's rig to relax and brainstorm. The downside is overestimated my ability to get 3 colored images finished by last night, so I'll be working on them on & off throughout the week, alongside the rig. Going forward, taking on 3-5 commissions might be my new weekend thing, as long as I'm not overworked!

Short version - things haven't been going according to plan, and I think it's time I opened up my commission list...
A few days ago, I had it all mapped out, more or less - I'd spend Monday attaching Daisy to her skeleton, and setting up her body rig. Normally those two tasks might each take a day, but since her skin weights would be copied from her high-poly model, I should have been able to do both in one day. Then the errors started popping up.

I'd been thinking about adding a muscle-girl to the mix for a while, but more recently I've decided to push the bulk further. I blame Ed McGuinness's take on She-Hulk in the current Avengers run. Beyond her size - and possibly-destructive strength - my muscle girl will be about as far from a rage-monster as possible. She's a big girly-girl!
The other characters are tossed in for size ref. So far, the middle guy is the only one I'm sure I'll use. He's Violet's dad.

I saw some sights, sampled some food, added to my game collection, and bought way too many figures... now that I'm nearly over the jet-lag, it's time to get back to work!
First up, over the next couple of days I'll need to get Toxic Candy 10 inked & colored, so that that chapter will finally be finished. Then I'd like to take the rest of the month - though hopefully less - to get Daisy's low-polygon model rigged up so I can finally animate her.

My goal for this week was to get started on the next page of Toxic Candy. So far I'm not doing so great at the sitting down and drawing it part, but at least I have my background/staging reference, which also helped me make sure the page layout I'd thumbnailed would actually work.
Posing the characters for these few panels was more exhausting than I'd expected. Violet is the only one that has any rigging, which made her much easier to work with.

Over the weekend I took my blocked Cassie model back into Zbrush, and started sculpting. I may give it another look later in the week, but for now I'd say she's ready for remeshing! I'm not sure how long that will take, and may not dive into it immediately. Also she DOES have her boobs on a separate model. I needed to keep them separate because of how Zbrush merges things together.
