Waking up on the bunker, surrounded by a peaceful mountain view, we were excited to continue our quest. Our first destination of the day was not far and, even though it doesn't show in the video, we took our time getting there, often stopping to admire the scenery. Despite the beautiful morning, I felt bit fatigued through the day as I rarely get a good rest sleeping outside. It takes me a couple nights to adjust to the outside noises and temperature shifts. The following day, waking up soake...

After splitting with checkmate and having a good rest it was time again for adventure! We knew we were far from the railway and we didn't mind it as we had other plans. We decided to take things into our own control and provide our own transportation instead of putting our trust in the local railway system once more. The calmness of kayaking in the sea and lack of rush from scooting at our own pace made this part of the journey feel very rewarding.
While this part also had its fai...

After the spa day, we decided to get back on tracks and surf south to the coast. As often happens, this did not go the way we planned. Before we even got to the yard, we got carried away by an unfortunate kitten who happened to walk past the door as I was exiting the store. After feeding it, we realized the dire situation it was in and decided to bring to someone who could properly take care of it. This event most likely made us miss the train to the coast that day, but, looking back, it set ...

This was supposed to be a continuation of the previous Montenegro surfing journey. Last time we enjoyed the sights of the west/south route and, upon hear that north/south route is even more impressive, we started planning the next trip. Coincidentally checkmate notified me a couple days before my flight to Montenegro that he would be there as well - he was planning to do our previous west/south route by himself. I notified Poison, suggested checkmate to join us and couple days later we all me...

The mountains relax me. This mission was more to test myself rather than to reach a goal. As I was hiking through the bottom of the valley, I couldn't take my eyes of the peaks surrounding me. At first, seeing the distances it felt impossible, but the more I thought about it - the more realistic it got. Like I mention in the video - I had no idea how long or how difficult the mission would be, but I wanted to at least try the route I imagined while looking from below.

After waiting close to a week for a doable train towards the border and separating with poison due to his schedule, I finally got it. The last stretch was the most beautiful. The slow cruising speed of the train allowed me to enjoy the lush valley with huge overhanging cliffs and, later, vast green fields closer to the border of Bulgaria. Even though I surfed it alone, I felt satisfied and accomplished. The Serbia journey was the longest one of the Balkan journeys and even with the issues we ...

This is one of the two videos I uploaded today. The second video is bunker exploration. I'm uploading both at once as I feel sharing the bunker video alone would be dissapointing for you.
The power plant exploration felt tense. Entire time we were paranoid about the guards. We wondered around the place for hours. The area was huge, so it took us a while to orientate o...

After arriving in Niš and exploring the city we got back on tracks and continued our hunt. As always, we had to endure quite a bit before getting what we want, but moments of piece in between exhaustion and frustration kept us moving and motivated.
This video was delayed as I was working on launching shiey.com while editing it. Each new video will appear on the website a couple days before it is shared anywhere else. ...

We waited for it, we got it and with plenty of time to enjoy it! The peaceful evening sunset and later the calm midnight moonlight accompanied us as we got closer to our first destination - Niš. It wasn't a smooth ride, we did encounter many stops and moments where we had to improvise, but that kept it exciting. Even though Niš was not the end goal, we had much more surfing to do, we still were very satisfied with our progress and the sites we saw along the way.

After the first few days being quite tough, we finally got to enjoy ourselves the way we planned. Even though I felt some discomfort in the foot, it was still healing from the gash I got in the river, I felt good enough to hit up some roofs. They were great! The inspiring views of the blocky residential district scenery were just what we needed. The next day, recovered and motivated, we got to the biggest yard in the country and continued our hunt. This time, with a lot of luck, we were succe...

The longest train surfing journey yet. Of course, as it's customary, the first days were rough. From dealing with a drastically reduced train schedule to unpredictable train yard dwellers, we had more than a few unwelcome surprises. However, our motivation did not fade. We pushed through from one yard to the next while taking enjoyable breaks in a new environment. This part might not seem optimistic, but this journey had many surprises for us and it is just getting started.

The first bunker, bigger than the previous one (not as deep) and a lot more functioning. It was a confusing experience navigating it, but the things we found made up for it. The rusty elevator ride after the ventilation shaft climb, followed by endless-looking hallways felt surreal and turning on the 80 year old rectifier was a scary, yet exciting experience.
This video took longer to release as I was filming/editing the "back on a mission" music video (watch on youtube) along side of ...

Biggest and deepest bunker I ever visited. Stretches for kilometers and has multiple levels. We visited two bunkers and this one was the second. I didnt show much of the tunnels or the maintenance facilities as this bunker is more empty than the first (will be a seperate video for the first bunker). The most impressive thing about this one is the way in and the way out, both through very deep chutes - way in through ventilation and way out through elevator.
Got access of youtube chann...

This was something new. I was not in control and was not familiar with the environment, therefore it was both exciting and scary. Usually I observe and take it slow in unfamiliar areas/activities, but since the guy with us had a lot of experience elevator surfing - I went along with it. Was very fun. The heights an...

I felt a bit weaker after couple nights of bad sleep so the events in this part felt more physically demanding, but, as always, the scenery kept me inspired and moving. After I ended filming, I stayed on...

This trip was about reminding myself that I can go anywhere I decide and do anything I desire. Second day of the journey wasn't as smooth as the first. Being alone and going anywhere I want, anytime, comfortably was a dream. Sardinia is a beautiful place and I am happy I got to experience it for the first time the way I did. The second day of surfing went a lot smoother. The train didn't wait long when it arrived and, after clearing our heads from the disruption-filled sleep in a wagon, we were off. The flat and grey city-side landscape soon turned into a mountainous forest and then a sea-side paradise. The long, dark and wet tunnel we passed prior to arriving at the first town on the shore...

First day didn't go smooth. After heading to the yard, we ended up waiting 2 more days until we left. I cut it all from the footage, as the tedium and the frustration of sitting in one spot and waiting for nothing is not a very pleasant sight to watch or edit. However, the train finally decided to leave and all the unpleasantness vanished in the moment of us seeing the ...

Got a drivers license so did a little trip through spots I have been wanting to visit for a while. First up was the earthquake damage and, thus, abandoned town in the mountains of Italy. It was truly astonishing to witness a modern-day habitat left completely vacant. As it is quite hidden away and hard to reach, the place has not been looted or vandalized. It is a lot s...

The final stretch was the hardest to bike. At first, to my surprise, a big portion of the route was constant descending. That was the most fun and beautiful bike ride I've ever had. However, nearing the final 20km the climbing became very difficult. While it wasn't as steep as the previous day's, I was way more tired. With help of a single energy bar and some cheering up from local dogs, I pushed through and managed to reach the city of Konjic. Arriving there I've realized I want a comfortabl...

In this part you'll see why this journey does not include 'train surfing' in the title.
After seeing what the city and the surrounding mountains had to offer, we were very excited to catch a train and continue our trip further, towards the coast. Next day, after waiting it's entirety nearby the yard, under a bridge, in a quite uncomfortable spot - we got nothing. Spirits were low and realizing that trains most likely go through the beautiful mountain track, in the direction that w...

The second day of the journey went a lot smoother than the first. After we arrived in Banja Luka and caught a train to Doboj, we had just enough time to rest until another showed up taking to a city called Zenica. The evening/night surf was beautiful and more calm as we did not have to worry about anyone noticing us. The silhouettes of the mountains and street lights shining around us created a dreamy atmosphere as the wind was keeping us awake and alert. The train dropped us off in a territo...

The beginning of a journey full of surprises and obsticles unlike we've encoutered before. The title excludes "train surfing" on purpose - you'll see why in further parts.
Regarding the events in this part, the first thing that caught us off guard, apart from the concerned reaction of the locals, was the railway system. The wagons are the same as in Croatia, but the connections and patterns are quite different. It took us a while to figure why things were moving a certain way and what i...

This place, like the sunken digging machines, has been on my list for a while and glad I finally did it. It was extremely chill.

Anton told me that some sewer lids in Kyiv lead to a magical underground world of tunnels and bacteria-filled water which we can wander around for hours without interacting with the pesky surface dwellers. Once I've heard that - how could I resist visiting this fabled place? After that, we tried another wonder of the city's underground - the unconfirmed soviet civil bunker we found out about through a friend. We didn't get in, but the experience of getting to the closed "entrance" was definit...

The first mission of my recent trip to Ukraine. Matt & Anton have accompanied me throughout this trip and have definitely provided great entertainment alongside the spots we visited.
We started in a small village in the middle of the country which challenged us before we even reached the mine with it's muddy, unpaved roads. After navigating the roads, with a small two person boat, we set out to row across the flooded mine which was so big, it resembled a valley. Even though th...
