Part 5 Drops Tomorrow

Firstly I just want to thank you all here on Patreon so much for making this dream project possible! I might be too much a nervous wreck to watch along but Part 5 drops tomorrow and I hope you all enjoy. No this it not a delayed April Fools haha!

So what comes next? Well Part 5 does mark the end of this Chapter of the Astartes project but I'd love to continue! I have many 40k stories I'd like to tell and I already know where I want to take things next if the support for more is there. ...

Astartes Update

Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing as well as possible considering the corona virus situation. Part 5 of Astartes is all but complete! I'm currently making small tweaks, fixing any mistakes, waiting on some audio help and trying to convince my computer to spend two days rendering the final scene without crashing. Oh and throwing in an easter egg because I just can't help myself...

Also for those interested in some Retributor shoulder pads Kromlech just updated me with the image ab...

Any Homebrew Chapters Out There?

Please don't read TOO much into this but I'm just curious if anyone amongst us have a homebrew chapter of their own? Or if you field a lesser known chapter that get's little official attention?

Gif Goodness & YouTube Recovery!

Woohoo! Just when I was about to give up hope I got an update from YT this morning and later today my channel was restored. I've had to fix some of the naming and images which might take awhile to take effect, and Part One looks to have some copyright issue with the music it used which is puzzling, but other than that it's all back! Thank you so much to everyone for the support, the community's response really has been amazing. Let's celebrate with some Part 5 gifness!  

Retributor Pads & YouTube Update

Hey guys! Some better news today, made a little progress with the YT channel as I was asked to create a blank account to have the old channel transferred to, which happened BUT I still can't access it as it still seems to have all kinds of violations attached to it. So that's the next step, slow step most likely but some progress at least!

Just a heads up that I'll post here first when I get my YT account back. So until then anything on my channel is hijacker activity, like 'premiering' the existing episodes at potato quality.

More YT Account Drama

Hey guys. Monitoring this flurry of activity about my channel being sold and bought. Have been contacted by what seems to be two different people offering to give it back, one of them hoping to be reimbursed the money they spent. Naturally I'm very suspicious and even if they're sincere it's a very awkward situation.

Trying to follow up a recent tip to contact YT via phone. Really want to resolve this via official channels...

Hacked YouTube Account Update

So my formal appeals through the YT system were rejected, which is frustrating as I don't think an actual human has looked at the issue. I think my only option now is to make enough noise until it get's YouTube's attention, which I believe has worked in a few cases for people in similar situations.

Chapter Master Valrak has kindly spearheaded this with a video and tweet. If anyone with Twitter and YT accounts could spread the word and include #saveastartes that would be awesome! Hopefu...

Mocap Time!

I've strung together about 3 variations of the flu the past 2 months (I believe I am marked by Nurgle), but something exciting arrived today that's lifted my spirits. A Rokoko mocap suit! With the help of your amazing support I've been able to save up for this so a huge thank you to you guys. I know mocap can have a pretty goofy look to it when relied on too heavily but I'll be keeping an eye on that and mostly be using it as a base to work from so it'll be a big time saver.

Help! Lore Question!

Quick lore/fluff/tech question for smarter types than me! I'm not super familiar with the details of long distance Imperial communications. I know astropaths are a big part of anything long range but at what point are more conventional means useless? As an example what would be the means and time needed for two Imperial ships at opposite ends of our own Solar system to communicate?

Appreciate any insight!

Early (Very Early) Inspiration

It may not be quite the epic thing I thought it was as an 8 yr old but seeing Marines run around in this old Space Crusade commercial is what sowed the seed for my interest in 40k and hopes of animating Marines one day!

Part 4 Animatic

Hopefully this is an interesting behind the scenes piece for you guys! This is the rough animatic I did early on to help map out Part 4. Plenty of little things were still 'in my head' which changed the end result but the animatics are a big help with planning.
