Lori from The Fifth Quarter is too old to enjoy watching Frozen.
I have a school visit on Thursday that I've been fine-tuning my presentation for, including adding this little strip to it. I'm so very fond of The Block Family, and sometimes wonder if I should dev...

Reminder that $5 members of my ‘Zine Club will be receiving a bonus “ashcan” in the mail next month. Life During Interesting Times, a small print adaptation of an Eisner award nominated essay I published at The Nib, with revised text and new collages throughout.
Thankyou as always to everybody supporting me here. Seems like my trusty Mac desktop is in its last days and will need to be replaced, so the money I’m earning here will help go towards that.

I have a small comics project in the works, expected to go live in the next few weeks, dealing a little bit with accomplishing small tasks during lockdown and how we’re allowing many of the memories of what that was like to go down the memory hole. This comic took me back on some of that stuff. I will of course post about that new piece when it’s up.
Reminder, all ‘Zine Club Plus members will be receiving a new 24 page ashcan comic in the mail from me next month. If you’d like t...

Early Pandemic Diary. April 3, 2020.
I’m slowly working on a presentation for children about writing comics and memory, and it has me revisiting some of the diary comics I wrote during the very early pandemic. This one from fairly early on reminded me how the first time I ever wore a mask outside I was self-conscious that I was going to look dumb.
I have zero, zero, ZERO nostalgia for any aspect of the pandemic. Even this comic, which was about how it felt to me that we were al...

I wanted to share this update to let Patrons know my new 'zine with the unwieldy title FUN TIME FALL 2022, SELL-OUT COMICS (the Generation X issue) is going into the mail this weekend. Please allow a few days to arrive, but if you haven't received your copy in the next seven to ten days, let me know. A couple packages from my last batch never arrived. International Patrons maybe giv...

An update for my $5 and up Patrons: I have been working on new "D+D" pages, but not enough yet for a proper update. A lot of my energy and effort the past two weeks has been spent producing original comics for the new issue of my FUN TIME 'zine.

This is an update for everybody supporting me at the $5 and more level.
First off, thank-you for your continued support. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.
I want to give you a heads-up about a new feature I'm going to be offering exclusively for $5 Patrons.
This past year I started creating minicomics and 'zines again, which has been a real treat. I absolutely love self-publishing small batches of work and sending them out in the mail. FUN TIME FALL 2022...

This is a diary comic I made somewhere in the middle of that first year of the pandemic, when we were all at home, stuck on our screens, not seeing anybody.
I include this strip in the presentation that I take to school and libraries, to talk to the kids about how art and writing can be a place to explore feelings that are sometimes sad. Sometimes, particularly when I was first delivering my slidesho...

This is an older cartoon, recently polished up and colorized for inclusion in the presentation I take to schools and libraries to talk to kids about comics. The purpose of this strip in the slideshow is to make the point that comics can be about anything, even a dad’s inconsequential paranoid phobia about going inside of port-a-potties.
