Hi folks!
Let's get into the nitty gritty of what the Strike Eagle does best: pound some ground. This draft covers dumb bombs of the MK-80 series with various sensors such as the targeting pod, HUD and the air-to-ground radar. We can see that even with rudimentary ordnance, the F-15E has plenty of flexible tools that can used to complement each other.

Hi folks!
I am now knee-deep into Strike Eagle weapons. Things are going well so far, as spending some extra time on various sensors proved to be a valuable investment that may speed up considerably the creation of weapon procedures. I will first work on air-to-ground weapons, then I will continue with air-to-air weapons and IFF.
Here is an overview of what will be covered.

Hi folks!
I did a first revision pass on the Sensors section and thought that maybe some of you might want to have it all in a single file. After all, that's roughly 200 pages worth of stuff.

Hi folks!
And now, for the last segment of the (neverending) section of the Strike Eagle's sensors: the AN/AAQ-13 Navigation Pod!

This pod contains a terrain-following radar (TFR) and a fixed thermographic camera (NAV FLIR), which provides a visual cue and input to the aircraft's flight control system, enabling it to maintain a pre...

Hi folks!
This month, I plan to wrap up the sensors section (including the long-awaited Terrain Following radar) and start working on the Weapons section of the Strike Eagle guide. I spent some extra time polishing up the sensor section, which will likely accelerate the making of weapon employment procedures.

In other news, I've started listening to some great episodes from The Fighter P...

Hi folks!
The AN/AAQ-14 LANTIRN Targeting Pod is one of the Strike Eagle's most useful sensors. Despite showing its age in terms of lackluster zooming capabilities or the absence of laser spot tracking, the LANTIRN allows you to acquire and track targets reasonably well. The ability to slave it to other sensors such as the air-to-ground radar or the Heads-Up Display makes it a powerful tool in your arsenal when you need to perform precision strikes.

Hi folks!
January went by in the blink of an eye, and now we're in February already... yikes! Work is still ongoing on the Strike Eagle's sensors section. I hope I can start working on the Weapons by early March. Things are going slower than planned, but it had more to do with real life getting in the way (which, in that case, turned out to be a great thing).

In other news, it appears tha...

Hi folks!
Let's continue the long slog through sensors, shall we? This week, we talk about the air-to-ground radar modes. Real Beam Map (RBM), High Resolution Map (HRM), Ground Moving Target (GMT) and Precision Velocity Update (PVU) are the main modes that you will be working with.

The air-to-ground modes make the AN/APG-70 radar a very flexible tool to use, however there are many...

Happy new year, everyone!
Looking Back - A Year of Technical Debt
2023 has been a very busy year. Tons of updates, a few remakes and a new plane. Revisiting older guides definitely wasn't the most interesting thing to do, but it had to be done at some point. Overall, I am glad it's behind me since the standard is now much more uniform than it was before. This means less maintenance to do in the future (at least, for some modules) and a more streamlined workflow ...

Hi folks!
This time around, we go through various air-to-air radar modes. RAZBAM went to great lengths to implement a stunning simulation of the AN/APG-70, and while it is one of the most complex models I've seen yet, I tried to summarize things as much as possible.

Some modes like RWS (Range While Search) and TWS (Track While Scan) may already ring a bell for the Hornet and Viper aficio...

Hi folks!
This month, I'm working on Strike Eagle sensors section. A big 'un, no doubt. This will be a difficult task since there is a lot of information to go through. RAZBAM has put a lot of work into the avionics side of things, including the AN/APG-70 Radar, AN/AAQ-14 LANTIRN Targeting Pod (TGP) and the AN/AAQ-13 LANTIRN Navigation Pod (NVP). Among other things, I'm very curious to see how the TFR (Terrain Following Radar) is simulated and how it interacts wit...

Hi folks!
Let's dive into the start-up sequence for the Strike Eagle. I tried to include most of what you would need for a normal mission in multiplayer, including PACS programming in case you need to rearm. I included steps both for the pilot and the WSO as well, which means the guide can be used by both crew members. As a bonus, I also included the abbreviated checklists from RAZBAM for convenience.

Hi folks!
Work continues on the F-15E guide. The start-up procedure is almost done. After that, we'll take the Mudhen to the skies and start figuring out how all these fancy sensors work. There is a lot of material to cover, and I am still trying to find a good balance to avoid overwhelming readers with excessive amounts of information while still being useful. There will always be people who find my work either "not technical enough" or "too technical" (or sometimes both); it's a const...

Hi folks!
At long last, the Strike Eagle fans can start breathing. I have started getting acquainted with the aircraft, done a few start-ups, flown a bit in multiplayer and started the long process of figuring out how to digest this ungodly amount of information. The F-15 sure is a complicated beast, but nothing we can't handle. As I am going through various systems, I noticed that the F-15 shares DNA with other aircraft like the F-16 and F/A-18. Add to this the complexity of having two...

Hi folks!
The L-39's guide has been completely overhauled. The page count has gone from 80+ to 280+ pages. The start-up procedure has been better fleshed out, and vast improvements were done for the powerplant and fuel sections, weapons section and navigation section. I hope this new format will be more helpful for new players and give you all a better overview of the capabilities of this fun Czech jet.

Hi folks!
Things may have seemed to be quiet lately, but this is a good thing. I have finally started working on the F-15E Strike Eagle guide last month. Rest assured, it's going to be a real monster. I recently read that an upcoming patch from RAZBAM would add TFR (Terrain Following Radar) and JDAMs. I also heard that some features of the aircraft like Datalink are still not implemented and will not be for some time. The plan for now is to gradually document what I can...

Hi folks!
Last month was absolutely crazy. I released updates for the Mirage 2000, Mirage F1, F-14, Gazelle, A-10, Mosquito, Spitfire, P-47 and P-51 guides. That was a huge chunk of my even bigger to-do list. Now, I plan to use the month of September to finish my planned overhauls for the (very neglected) German warbirds; the Bf.109, FW190A and FW190D.

After those are done... then o...

The Gazelle guide was re-written almost from scratch and reformatted to the latest standard. The SA-342M, SA-342L and SA-342 Minigun variants have been clearly detailed and will hopefully be less confusing. A few sections were better fleshed out and other missing systems/functionalities were also added. Overall, I think this guide will provide much better reference material for future Gazelle pilots. The page count increased from 100+ to 280+... happy reading!
