Seoul Kitchen: Chapter 15

Making Connections

He didn’t quite expect meeting the girl from the bar again but it was a pleasant surprise none the less; more so that she actually remembered him. “Peach Boy?” he asked, amused at the nickname given to him. That was certainly a new one.

“Hey, it’s not everyday that someone gives you a damn peach while you’re bar hopping,” She replied as she grabbed her meal.

“Oh yeah, that thing,” He replied, chuckling ruefully at the m...

A Mew Hope for Brockton Bay: Chapter 4

Chapter 4

Taylor felt like a deer caught in a headlight as she stood there frozen, her gaze locked with the man inside the car. She could see the flash of recognition in their eyes, the way their eyes widened for a moment before they hardened as they clenched the wheel of their vehicle. She wanted to run, she needed to run, yet her foot was rooted to the ground.

Just as things were about to turn for the worse, Mew turned tail and grabbed her. One moment she was st...

Chapter 3

She felt bad having to wake up the old store clerk but they were going to be there all day if she didn’t. “Mr. White, I’d like to buy these,“ She spoke out gently as she placed several bottles on the counter. It was nothing much, just a few bottles of culture growth media; things she needed to make more stems cells.

“You know, I can give you some of my blood to bypass having to make them from scratch,” Mews voice echoed out inside h...

The Prisons of Commorragh

Maybe getting himself imprisoned might have not been the brightest idea. He could have fled instead but then again, that would mean getting chased and he was tired of getting chased. He just wanted to rest so he gave himself up. Unfortunately, he didn’t account for his friends being placed in separate cells… or assigned to separate working area.

“Lonely Frog in the Webway~” He sang his working song as he swung his pick against the...

Adjusting price to Commissions and Tier Benefits next week

It's been a year, I think, since I introduced the new benefits and with the new year already rolling in, it's time to adjust the rates. There will be a 50% increase on the cost of commissions so there will be less words per month for the upcoming commissioners. This wouldn't affect those already enjoying the benefits as those would be grandfathered in.

If anyone wants to take advantage of the more favorable rates, it's probably a good time to do so now before next week rolls in.

Chapter 2

Ever since Taylor’s mother died, meals had always been a morose affair. There was no longer any warmth in them as the event had merely become a matter of sustenance. This time however, things were a bit warmer.

For the first time since the incident, she found herself smiling and laughing as she and her father reminisce on times gone by. The pain of her mother’s passing would never fade but that doesn’t stop them from celebrating her life as this l...

Chapter 1

Taylor had never been a morning person. She just wanted to just lay down on the well worn indent in her mattress and just stray there. With her blanket wrapped around her like a warm hug, she wanted to tuck herself back in to sleep and just let the world fly by; It’s not like anything would change.

Still, the world would conspire to wake her up as her eyes opened up to see the water marked ceiling to her room. “Still here huh?” She whispered as a w...

Lunch Rush Carnitas

With the last bag of bagel sold, the morning rush finally ended. After shooing away the stragglers and closing down shop temporarily, he now had some breathing room. He still had the whole day ahead of him after all and he didn’t have Maine’s crew to help him this around around. Taking his well earned rest, he pondered on what he’ll be cooking up next.

As he was the cook, cashier and manager all wrapped in one package, he really didn’t ...

Infinite Power, Teeny Tiny Space

Can space be both infinitely vast and infinitesimally tiny at the same time? Can something as vast as that of the universe be too small for something inside it? It seemed like a contradiction at first but in the context of infinity, it doesn’t seem all that weird.

As it turns out, there are different degrees of infinity. Something can be bigger than infinity, it just had to be a bigger kind of infinity. Unfortunately for myself, ...

As much as he felt uncomfortable having someone just give him an industrial stand mixer, he had to admit that was a god send. He could now make giant batches of bagels and it it couldn’t come at a better time as the shift workers came out in droves.

The day after was… quite. He woke up as Rebecca shifted, holding him closer as the cold breeze of the airconditioning washed over them. It was strange yet comforting, to feel someones else warmth against himself.
