"Lionheart"
Had an inexplicable urge to paint Cullen- as the weather gets snowy I always end up needing to give my Dragon Age faves some attention. ♥♥
Hope you all are staying warm and doing well, I know the holiday season can be tough for many. Sending love your way!

Hey guys!! Here is the finalized pic of the prints for this month's Rogue Trader themed print club! An exclusive signed and numbered 8"x10" print featuring Kibellah, and a 4"x"6 soft matte postcard of Marazhai.
Hope you all are doing well, I'm so pleased with this pack. Unfortunately I didn't get my 40k themed wax seal stamp in time for pics, but the envelopes will be specially sealed with a proper purity seal for each package, not the Bhaal symbol one though it's terribly fitting for these two lol. ♥

the craziest CRPG husband ever. I didn't forget the plug-ins for his meat hook armor this time. I love this chaotic evil space vampire elf so much.
This is this month's postcard print! The Kibellah piece from last week is the 8"x10". Next month's theme will be Cyberpunk 2077 as a reminder!
I'm incredibly pleased with how the test prints have turned out for both of these, they really look lovely together. The one on the right is the larger size one for the pack, I just print them on smaller paper for tests to clarify. ♥

Notice: There will be a sale with a free "Radiant" sticker with every order in my shop www.feyspeakerprints.com running from November 25th-December 2nd, so please be on the lookout for that! I'm going to be adding some new things as well as a few more leftover blankets and misprint packs. More greeting card designs are coming in time for the holidays!
Thank you guys so much as usual, I apologize for less art posts this month! I've been very busy with the blanket orders as well as some very boring back-end stuff.
Hope you all have a lovely day,
Lily

Goth murderwife (best girl) from Rogue Trader, part of this month's print club. She is so freakin' cool. ♥
Hope you all are well, I've contacted the winner of this month's portrait giveaway- took me a bit longer to sit down and sort that out this month, apologies!! I wish there was a mini update/status option on here- I hate making posts about little announcements here and there. ;A;
I'm not really very Discord savvy, but would you guys be interested in that being added as a perk? I could probably figure out how to set one up, and I could post smaller updates on there as well. Let me know what you guys think!
Thank you as always for your support, I am forever grateful. ♥

Hello everyone!! Thank you all for your support lately, I really appreciate it. The fall/holiday season has been impacting me a lot more than expected emotionally, so I apologize for the delay in getting the giveaway form out this month. If you've been around here for a while you will know that my dad passed away last year in October, and I've just been a lot more scattered than usual trying to deal. Been focusing on keeping up with everything I need to. I'll extend the form an extra day to the 8th to compensate.
Please use the link below to enter if you are in the $7 tier and up!

Announcing November + December's Print Club themes:
I've done a lot of thinking about what to do for this month's theme for the print club, and this month, November, will be Rogue Trader themed! I'm going to be focusing on the companions Marazhai and Kibellah, and worry not! If Warhammer 40k is not your thing, I am really striving to make these prints aesthetically pleasing regardless of your fandom affiliations... Just look at them, Murderhusband and Murderwife. I will admit before Rogue Trader I did not give a Rat's Ass about Warhammer (no offense) but the game changed me forever.

I hope it's clear to you guys that I really strive to do more than just another fanart, I really try to make each piece a work of art. I want to do something artsy and grimdark for these pieces. I've chosen the coolest gothest companions from the game, and plan to deliver on the grand gothic space vampire aesthetics here haha.
My plan for the theme of December will be Cyberpunk 2077, which I am playing for the first time right now!! If you are a fan, let me know your favorite characters and maybe they will feature in the prints!!
January is almost guaranteed to be another BG3 themed pack, I'm thinking Halsin and Minthara in some kind of winter wonderland but it's dangerous planning so far ahead lol.

Hey guys, little announcement but November's print club theme will not be Dragon Age Veilguard like originally announced. Change of plans, but the game just did not meet my expectations like I had really hoped for. I can't paint what I'm not passionate about, and it's disingenuous IMO to follow trends when my art means more than that to me, and I respect my audience too much to try and paint stuff I don't want to.
I'm not sure what the theme will be yet, I had hoped to take a little break from BG3 art with Dragon Age hype but feeling a little lost at the moment. I will keep you guys posted when I decide what to do. I wanted to try and announce themes a month in advance but this really caught me by surprise. :'(
Let me know what's been inspiring you lately, and feel free to suggest ideas for me!!
Also, please keep an eye out, tracking emails for the October Print Club will go out tomorrow so please reach out to me if you don't get one by the weekend. ♥♥

I'm having way too much fun with these. I'm going to do everyone, though I'm not sure if I'm going to do Minsc and Jaheira, particularly because Minsc's would just be identical to the BG2 portrait anyway lol. We will see. I'm not sure how to tackle Karlach because Tieflings were just a lot different back in the BG2 days- I might give her more of a 90s mullet and a more brownish skin tone as the fantasy skin tones just weren't a thing as much. Plus she's probably the most modernized looking character in BG3 so I plan to just have fun with setting her more in the past in general looks-wise.
I'm conflicted about whether to do Wyll's devil form or his human form for his portrait, probably going to go for human because his horns are just so impractical.
Lae'zel was fun, I refrained from going too far into the older style of Gith though I was tempted. I feel like she would have been yassified even more than this in BG2 if she'd been a companion then lol.
I'm so darn happy about how Gale turned out lol.
The adventuring party grows...

Something I've been itching to do forever and just had to go for it, BG2 style portraits of Astarion and Shadowheart. I've included downloads to the files for BG1 if you'd like to use them for your player character. :P
It was massively difficult to try and emulate such a vintage style in order to get them to match as closely as I could to the original. Also had to pluck poor Shadowheart's brows and give her the lip liner treatment so she'd fit in with the other girlies.
CRPG portraits have been a huge inspiration to me artistically, something about them I just love. So it was really fun to try and emulate the style to put Astarion and Shadowheart in a time machine. :P

My favorite companion in BG2, the wonderfully chaotic neutral Tiefling from Sigil, Haer'dalis.
Probably the most talkative companion in the game and I always love to hear what he says. Quite a verbose fellow being a bard (well, okay a Blade technically), but I love that his focus is acting and showmanship. I have a real love for lore about Sigil, and of course a Tiefling from Sigil is always going to steal my heart. I miss when Tieflings were just weirdlings. He has a marvelous romance/friendship mod that expands his interaction in the game, but last I heard it's quite difficult to acquire. I have backups of it if you ever need it, just let me know. I had to scrounge and scrounge for it a while back.
and hey, I made a progress gif! The B&W to color technique is really helping me rein in my colors in general. I wanted to do a piece with an involved background/gesture/lighting to push myself and see what I can do with this technique. I find myself stressing a LOT less working this way as I can really see where I'm going. I can struggle with visualizing an end point about midway through a painting so this really helps steady me.
hope this is interesting, and that you may give BG2 a try to meet this wonderful lad (and swoon whenever he calls you "My Raven")

helloooo!! hope you are all doing well!!!!
Some Orin for you all- since I painted Astarion with Rhapsody, I wanted to paint the other most fancy (probably even more popular) dagger belonging to our favorite lobster queen, Bloodthirst. At least those were the two daggers I had Astarion running around with in each fist by the end of the game lmao.
Still working to achieve a more painterly more earthy toned vibe with my pieces lately. Starting in B&W lets me isolate the values and kind of wash the painting in a few colors more like how you'd go about an oil painting. I have been really staying my hand with saturation these last several paintings. Ironically I personally don't really like super saturated artwork but I tend toward it in my paintings. I'm trying to use color a little more deliberately. My dream is to be able to achieve a somewhat vintage-esque Forgotten Realms vibe. I love 90's/early 2000's TTRPG art, in particular the old Planescape and Drow artwork.
This piece is the postcard in the October Print Club!! Remember, as a special October gift I'm including a Dragonborn Dark Urge sticker this time around along with the Gortash print!
I hope you are having a lovely start to your week everyone!

Durge squishing Gortash's face in what I can only imagine as a "I'm the captain now" gesture
I was going to originally have the Dragonborn Dark Urge's hand featured here, but honestly I like the anonymity of the black glove.
This will be this month's print club print. I'm working on an Orin piece for the postcard, hopefully will have that done very soon. The bonus Durge stickers should be coming soon and I can't wait to see them!!

Any Sarah J Maas fans here? I got my first real start as a fanartist online doing oodles of Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses fanart under my old username, Lilith-Luxe. I actually STILL see my old ACOTAR and ToG fanart popup in reposts online, and have had some people who were familiar with that old work surprised to find out I was the same person lol.
It been almost exactly 8 years since I painted the original piece below! I think this was one of my most popular pieces at the time, and it really encouraged me to keep trying. I even had a few people send me cosplay photos dressing up as my depiction of Aelin! It was around that time I quit going to community college and decided to pursue art no matter the cost in order to make it my livelihood. I'm very lucky I was able to tough it out, and my then boyfriend and now husband supported me on the craziest decision ever to dedicate my life to doing something a lot of people never believed I could accomplish (myself included).

I was inspired to do this repaint as I've been re-listening to the audiobooks lately and remembered that ironically this method of greyscale painting, then adding color overtop is almost identical to the technique I used when I first started digital art, and in the original. It was interesting to compare how I'd go about something as simple as a portrait with so many years experience in between. I remember thinking this portrait was my magnum opus at the time haha! Why I was dedicated to torturing myself with a lot of front-facing portraits back then, I will never know as I STILL struggle with the angle.
Thank you to those of you who have been supporting me for a VERY long time, and to those who are supporting me now. It means the world to me. Despite feeling down lately I'm trying to remember how proud of myself I'd be if I knew 8 years ago where I'd be now.

"I'll do what I can, but expect very little."
I've been kind of in a depression rut lately, and art has been a little harder than usual. Ironically I thought I'd try out a new technique painting the most dour RPG companion of all time.
Xan is my absolute favorite Baldur's Gate companion, just ahead Astarion and Haer'dalis. It's majorly due to the incredible romance mod for him that's a part of the BG1 NPC Project. There is also a mod for BG2 that adds him as a fully fleshed out companion and romance to continue the story, and it's just really wonderfully well written. He's so miserable. He's SUCH a mood. Has an amazing magical sword and is nearly unable to use it in combat.
I can't believe Xan's only mentions in BG3 were his ugly hireling son (???) Zenith and that weird fanfic book about him and his Moonblade. character assassination.
I know that BG1&2 are tragically overlooked by the BG3 fandom due to the games being so "dated," but I cannot stress how the modding community for BG1&2 (as well as Neverwinter Nights) allow those games to take on whole new worlds in ways that mods these days cannot achieve. Plus BG1 and 2 have so many companions that you will literally forget half of them exist...
Anyways, I tried a more stylized approach for the piece. Ironically this method is not a "new" technique for me- it's actually the method I used for digital painting when I first started out. I've heard it called "sketchlifting" which I did not coin- I think I learned it from an ex League of Legends artist's tutorials 10 years ago. I can't believe I've been painting this long.
It was actually really fun revisiting a technique I used to swear by a decade ago with more experienced eyes. Essentially you sketch in grayscale, then you can use the Photoshop RGB channel to lift the sketch off of the layer so it becomes like a lineart layer. Then you can color underneath as well as use overlay layers on top. It sound complicated when I am typing it out, but I used to scan and color my graphite illustrations that way.
This was the original "sketch" that I painted over and under for this piece:

I think I nerfed his glorious chin a bit in the final but I like both facial structures.
Usually, I refine a horrific blob of airbrush and composite/photobashed 3D and 2D assets to achieve what I end up with, sketching over and refining bit by bit, but unfortunately it's kind of an unreliable process. And hideous. I have probably a dozen horrible half finished Astarion pieces alone that will never see the light of day. Poor Lae'zel has an entire folder of failed paintings. I swear I meant to paint her more, it's just that I can't ever get her to emote right in my pieces.
Starting with black and white allows me to commit to the structure of the piece a bit more before I get to the color. I'm hoping to experiment more with this style because I think it's a little more of a streamlined process.
Overall, when I'm feeling a bit down, my ability to create art tanks too. And then that makes it worse because painting makes me happy. So usually switching things up a bit helps a lot.
Anyways, I hope this little insight into my process is interesting. Go install the BG1 NPC Project and play BG1 to romance this miserable (and romantic) elf!! (if you want to)

hellooooo everyone!!
welcome to spooky month. the best month of the year.
We're paying homage to some of the villains of BG3 this month with some Dark Urge, Orin the Red, and our favorite handsome young man Lord Enver Gortash.
For the print club this month, there will be a BONUS bonus, in the form of a 4" vinyl sticker featuring the above Dark Urge painting as a new tradition that will henceforth be named, "Lily's October-is-Christmas-Special-Gift" which I will be doing every October from here on out as a special thank you gift to all print club members at no additional cost. (Antediluvian US and Non-US Tier subscribers) If I have any leftovers, they will be available for purchase on my shop next month. ♥
Every year in October, my husband and I watch a scary movie nearly every single night until Halloween. I save as many obscure new ones as well as old time faves for the entire year in a list. My every year absolute favorite watches are Creep 1&2. What are your favorite scary movies?
Hope you all are doing well,

Some Wyll for you all- I've been keeping him in my party during my Galemance run and I really enjoy his banter with everyone. I think it's pretty obvious he stacks a lot of responsibility and guilt on his shoulders.
When I play RPGs I pretty much stick to one party comp for the entire game- this time I've only picked up Shadowheart, Gale, Wyll, and Halsin. The rest have uh, been left to the tadpole's mercy lol. My playthrough is slow going though because I've finally gotten my Morrowind save to work properly and I'm trying to squeeze that playthrough in before Veilguard comes out!!
