Hey guys! I just wanted to let you know that I'll be doing a live edit later on tonight. My son has a baseball game but when that is over I hope to put some time in on the next video! I'll send out another Patreon message with the URL once I figure out exactly what the URL is. I'll probably be working on it for a couple of hours at a minimum.

The Facebook followers on Smarter Every Day came through HUGE. I posted a link asking if anyone wanted to translate the Baffling Balloon video captions into their native tongue and 20 languages were done in 12 hours! I was in Germany last week for my real job. I flew home through Amsterdam. I decided to get up early one morning and film an intro to the next Smarter Every Day on the streets of Amsterdam. Do you think a segue from the streets of Amsterdam to the Great Barrier Reef is too far of a stretch? I'm talking about using Google Street View for scientific Data.

I'm in Germany on business so I used the weekend to briefly visit my friends at Karlsruhe University (now Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) yesterday. This is my sister being launched in a glider by a winch. This is the exact moment that "no way, is this real?" feeling sets in.

As a $10+ patron, you're entitled to a high quality image this month. Enjoy this one from the Cathedral in Cologne Germany!! We didn't have a hotel reservation in Cologne, Germany, so we walked up to this hotel and asked for a room. This is what they gave us! It was cheaper than all the other places! We were blown away by the view! Click the blue icon on the top right to get the image!

Hey guys! Thanks again for all the support. As a qualified Patron, you're getting an awesome song download from Gordon this month! He asked me which one to give you, and I told him to make it a surprise! He's sending you a personal download code but there's a chance it might be buried in your Spam folder. If you don't have it yet you will within a few days. If you don't know, his name is Gordon McGladdery, and he makes music for Smarter Every Day under the label "A Shell In the Pit". In c...

Ready for this month's video chat? This will be an online chat on Spreecast, a site where you can come on camera with me and ask questions. If you wish, you can also choose to "silently" view the chat without logging in. Of course, it will be much more interesting if you're actually asking me questions, so I encourage you to log in. Please keep this link private to Patrons only! I want to spend time with you guys. The video chat will be on Wednesday, April 9th at 8:30PM Central Time.

As Patrons who recognize that a big part of why I'm doing this is to educate my children, I thought you'd like to know that I found a really cheap dice set on Amazon with over 100 Dice in it. Here's my son proud that he learned what an icosahedron (D20) was.
If you're interested in the dice, search Amazon for "100+ Pack of Random Polyhedral Dice in Multiple Colors Plus Free Pouch Set by Wiz Dice"
Thanks again for the support! We're moving on to Australia videos next!

It's the physics of how a slapshot works, complete with slow motion video. Any ideas on the Title? I was thinking:
1. COLD HARD SCIENCE: Slow Motion Slapshot Physics
2. SLOW MOTION SLAPSHOT SCIENCE
3. Slapshot Science with Slow Motion
4. Slapshots in Slow Motion
5. The Pysics of a slapshot in Slow Motion
Any ideas? He's a screenshot from the video:
The video should be out in a few hours! I welcome your thoughts!

Mechanical and Aerospace Engineers (a soft spot for me) at North Carolina State University conducted a massive computer simulation which modeled the physics of the free throw to determine the perfect shot. After reading their paper, we created this infographic to illustrate the results of their computational modeling.
I really like this graphic. I can see it hanging up in every high school basketball team's locker rooms. I think we might make a poster out of this. Emily does great work! T...

Alright guys, last curling infographic I promise! I got really excited about learning this stuff so I may have gone a little overboard. The sport of curling has been around for a REALLY long time. One of my goals with Patreon is to be able to work with good creators more often to make intelligent, respectful. This graphic was created by Emily Weddle, she created several of the nice graphics used in the last video.
As a Patron you're getting this first. Please feel free to post it wherev...
