Flying Ducks
These forests were chilly as hell, especially for it being summer in the Southern Hemisphere, yet we still got some time to explore such species as Phyllocladus aspleniifolius, Telopea truncata, And Eucalyptus delegatensis.

Remnants of Gondwana, here's a conifer that emerged in the Jurassic and is today restricted to the cool wet forests of Southwest Tasmania, growing in the understory of a few Eucalyptus species, and mostly restricted to the banks of creeks and rivers. It was harvested extensively until the 1980s, and most all the old growth is gone, and where it still exists is mostly inaccessible wilderness. Not how small the "cones" (megastrobili) are...the seeds barely 2-3 mm across and hidden beneath a sma...

Eucalyptus regnans... Would appreciate feedback if this one feels boring or droll. I feel like I should have made more cuts but there's always the risk then of neglecting a subject that somebody might be enthusiastic to learn about.

I have historically been pretty lousy at contributing to my patreon page in any significant fashion behind early evenings of videos. I would like to change this. I think a lot of it simply stems from the fact that I don't know how to use patreon correctly and how to invest more time and energy in it in a useful manner.
I would like to have a patreon only question and answer session and live stream but I'm not sure what would be the best venue to do this. I'm open to ideas, ...

Forgive the goodle drive link ( I promise it's not a virus), Patreon doesn't allow for uploading an audio file directly. Here's a link to download (or just listen to) a 3 hour long conversation I just had with well-known chemist and journalist Hamilton Morris. Hope you enjoy it!

Still editing footage from 3 months ago. Alan makes an appearance in this one. It's short but hope you enjoy it nonetheless.

The footage in question contains video which may be disturbing to some viewers, illustrating the pain that can be inflicted on one person by another using the segmented stems of the genus Cylindropuntia.

Columnar Cacti make the world go round...
For some reason, I kept feeling like this vid wasn't fully finished. The sound levels are also messed up because the camera I was filming with was for some reason set to "zoom-in mic" (a totally useless and frustrating feature if there ever was one) so I had to go in and readjust them (which I did, but somewhat half-assedly.
As always, feedback appreciated. Hope I'm not overdoing it with the drone footage but for chrissakes this thing deserves the footage. What a cool organism.
