/Bella - Water and Blood

Just a quick video test from my last shoot with Bella. I shot it in 8k, then edited it in 4k. Im looking into buying a Atomos 8k recorder so that I can shoot RAW instead of using the Canon R5's internal 8k, as it overheats quickly and the files are taxing on my computer. I'm slowly building out a rig for my camera so that I can do more video work.

This was just shot in-between the photos I was taking, so I didn't really plan anything out. Tried to color match the video to the picture set as well, but it didn't quite work. close enough though :)

/Bella - Water, Mud, Plastic and a Little Blood

We also messed around with a little blood for some creepy pictures. More of a test for one of the characters of my film.

/Bella - Water, Mud and Plastic

This set took way to long to plan out. Like a month of failed attempts. I have this location for my Film that has this open puddle out in the middle of a harvested corn field. For weeks, I tried to book someone to shoot in this location, because I knew the water would eventually dry up. Each failed attempt was due to weather changes, cancellations from potential models, or just no interest from anyone I knew to shoot a nude set out there :)

But Bella came through and ended up having some free time on a Monday, and the weather was perfect.

/New work

Had the chance to finally shoot at this small water hole in a field. It’s a location for my film, and I have been trying for a few months now to shoot a set there. Bella was available Monday and the weather was finally warm enough so we headed out to capture some images.

Hopefully there is still enough water left by June 8th when we finish my film.

/Joan Of Arc

Finally had a chance to shoot a Joan of Arc concept. Turns out, Jada has friends who make armor! So we headed out to a cool park outside of Waterford and spent the day getting lost on trails looking for these old mansion foundation ruins a friend recommended.

/Loss Horror Film - First shoot

We wrapped up shooting some of the movie over the weekend. the first day went really well. We got a lot of really beautiful shots. The second day I think I was a little too ambitious in my scheduling, and due to poor weather, i was only able to shoot a few smaller scenes. I do have all of the footage to start editing the entire beginning of the movie. I think over the next few months I will start piecing it together and working on sound design in hopes to create a proof of concept in order to try and raise more money to finish the film. Im going to need two more full days in order to get everything i need.

Here are a few RAW screen shots from a few of the scenes we shot. these are not color corrected. Just straight from the RAW camera File.

We used Cooke SP3 lenses for this movie short.

/New Work

Been busy prepping for my short horror film. We shoot this weekend. It’s exciting and stressful at the same time. So much work went into to setting every up.

I did get to shoot a Joan of Arc inspired set over the weekend. Working on edits this week. Hopefully I will have another nature art nude shoot this week. Going for a weird dead body in plastic and water, then maybe half nude portraits with a skirt and an old chair out in a field.

Going to try to get bts stuff if the film as well.

These shots are from the cameras display. Should have the set done next week hopefully.

/Loss Film Poster Concept

Used a few shots from a recent promo shoot for my film and made a quick poster design. Probably won’t be the final. Going to wait until the film is done first. We start shooting may 3rd. Hopefully I can get a bunch of behind the scenes stuff.

I trying to set up some makeup tests for the bloody faceless character. Possibly next week.

/Bella - Mondays

I love working with Bella. Especially in natural light. Her house has such great natural lighting through out with so many great spots to photograph in. We are actually using her bathroom for my Horror Film. The small bathroom has really beautiful back light from the one windows. This set was part of the Bella Undressed video I shot. I tried to match the video with my color grades and got pretty close. Hoping to film more videos with future sets.

/Loss - Mara's Grandmother

I had the chance to shoot some promotional stuff for my Film. Debbie is our actor playing the roll of Mara's Grandmother, June. These where just some quick portraits to test out wardrobe and hair. In the film, June is not well mentally, and is suicidal. Her character is very confused, as she wanders through her farm. There is a hidden presence eating away at her, pushing her into a dark mental state.

We start shooting the film in early May.  

/Holli - Wet Portraits

This set was created for Holli's Patreon. Holli has been a model and friend since I started photography. She eventually started moving more into photography, but has been working on self portraits again after several years. This set was shot with a 70mm and a simple light set up. One large softbox on the left side, and a cheap ocean RGB colored lamp set to orange on the right side for highlights. Then we just wet everything down. I like this set. I think we got some really cool and beautiful pictures. Holli an amazing person who has helped me grow as an artist. We have shot together for a long time, and she always comes through when I need help.

/Bella Undressed-1

I shot this little video in 8k, then edited it down to 4k using my Canon R5 with a 1.8 35mm lens. I wanted to test out color grading to see how close I could get to my Lightroom edits, since video color grading is different, and honestly slightly harder with the tools given. I think I got pretty close, using the opening image in the video as reference.

I will be releasing the images later once I finish editing.

Going to try more video in the future hopefully. My biggest issue right now with video is the focusing. The R5 loses focus easily, and I don’t have dedicated cine lenses yet.

/Holli - Wet Window Portraits

/New work

Shot a few sets for my friend Holli that she wanted. Then I just finished shooting some promo shots for my Horror film with one of my actors. Next up is a few new sets with Bella. I should have a few of the new photos up this week as I work on editing.

Was working on my shot list for my Horror short and snapped a few pictures of the location I'm using for half the film.

/Re-Edits of Cassie - 2017

was messing around with a few re-edits. We have plans for another shoot coming up, so more work with Cassie on the way.

/Bella - Dark Portraits

This was shot with a single light bulb hanging on the left and the led ocean light shining up from the ground on the right. Originally I set this scene for another bloody shoot that fell through, and I just left it up. Used it with Angie's shoot earlier, so we just shot a quick nude set since I liked the way the light looked. I liked the shots where she is reaching out to the light.

/Bella - Portraits and Skin

Second set with Bella as she slowly gets undressed on the purple background. Just a simple emotive portrait session in the studio.

Another set with Bella using the purple backdrop and a cheap ocean room LED light I bought for the blue highlights. Who needs expensive lighting when you can use cheap LED lights for a similar look.

/Angie

Angie is the special effects make up artist I brought onto my film project. She will be handling all of the blood and gore effects for Loss. Being a big horror fan myself, we have plans to shoot some new horror concepts later this year. This was just a quick shoot to get an idea she wanted to try with liberty spiked hair.

Got the chance to work with a new face over the weekend. We tried some simple portraits and Implied portraits. Jess is new to modeling and wanted to create some simple beautiful images.

Gina asked me to photograph her with a bunch of her new plants she has been growing and adding to her collection. Even her cat decided to come out for a little bit. I kept the set pretty simple and clean, as they looked pretty good right out of the camera. Shot with my 35mm lens, 1.8f.
