This was an Idea I had with using mist. I built an enclosed area out of white plastic in my basement and mounted a mist line with 12 nozzles onto the ceiling that was hooked up to a faucet with warm water. I back lit the set so that the light would reflect through the mist, and created a makeshift trench to my sump pump in case of too much excess water. I really wasn't sure how well it would turn out, but i think it worked out pretty decent. Although next time I will most likely go with a bla...

A few quick shots while Cassie was wetting her hair. The sun was shining through the window pretty bright, so I snapped a few shots and thought they would look cool as black and white photos.
I have 3 exclusive full sets I am working on with Cassie that will be released over the next few weeks as I finish editing them. The first will be released Tuesday 2-25-20.
Hotel series are some of my favorite natural light sessions. the light you get creates a really beautiful moody setting. I try and keep these types of shoots pretty raw with minimal editing except for color grading.

This is the second shoot that goes along with the "Always with you" blood shoot, which was an after thought and just felt like it fit as both the same models were involved. We lucked out and had a really good saturday morning after the rain in the fall. We shot in the woods for a few hours. Eventually we ran into someone who told us it was private property, and said that its kinda weird seeing two girls in white dresses walking around. Good thing they were dressed at that time and it was the ...

This is probably one of my favorite horror themed shoots. The idea behind the images is that two close friends are stuck in limbo together, and never leave each other's side through eternity. I have an art book titled Offerings that contains several of my blood shoots, and a selection of this series was included.
Here is an excerpt from the book:

This was a last minute idea. I wanted to see how the light looked in several rooms using a F1.4/ 50mm lens. I also decided to keep it pretty raw with no touch up except or color grades in Lightroom. We were definitely going for a more moody emotive look, and i think we achieved it. Working with Dalia has been great, looking forward to shooting with her again.

2.2.20 - Studio session with Dalia. I tend to shoot a lot of portraits just using the natural light from my basement window. The fall off creates really beautiful shadows. Its one of my favorite places to shoot moody and emotive portraits.
I am definitely a fan of natural light over traditional studio lighting.

This series we shot was intentionally left raw with no touch up. The images were created for Scar Wars Skincare, which is something Chelesy is working on for mental health and skin disorders.
The second set of images with the blue was just a quick afterthought.
Raw emotional portraits are my favorite thing to shoot. I find beauty in them. I think it creates are more realistic image that some people can relate to. Everyone hurts. Every one feels vulnerable at times. And to be able to capture that in a image for people to find some meaning in how that images reflects to them will always be something that I strive for in some of my work.

The first time I met Dalia I covered her entire body in fake blood. She volunteered of course. Actually, all of the models seem to want to be covered in fake blood :P Cant complain though, I love shooting horror concepts. I will probably save that set for October. I wasnt sure how well the red background would work, but it ended up working out really well.
Hopefully we get to work together some more this year.
