Yeah, I know it's already May. These past few months have been very busy, and today was the only day I had the chance to post these!
Y'all would get another batch for May, with added exclusives for Patrons too!

Welcome to the Public Polls for the month of April! Right now, Luna and Heather still won't be featured in explicit NSFW renders (a tease, maybe, but soon!).
However, once they've debuted officially as a Love Interest, then y'all know what that means!

Hey everyone! It's been a while. I've been squeezing as much time as I can for the next upcoming update (0.7.0), which features a new chapter, some bug fixes, updated choices (which fixes unavoidable scenes and allows players to fully choose who they want in their harem), plus a remake of Act I - Chapter 2.

A planned feature which would be implemented soon would be the difficulty mechanic. Basically, players can opt to choose between playing the original Arson Betrayal experience, in which your choices define what happens next, or a more casual experience which enables the in-game walkthrough and allows you to see the scenes you missed (alternate scenes between characters).

This and the codex are being worked on right now too, although its release will still be in another update or two.
I've also decided to throw in monthly wallpapers aside from the poll renders, just to spice things up!
Now, without further ado, time to cast your votes for April's Monthly Polls! You can access them by clicking the links below!

Hey! Tiffany needs your help again, and it's for a bigger poll this time!
I'm aware I've missed February's, so now I'm gonna make it up to you guys by making it for two!
The top two (2) girls who will dominate this poll will be featured in this month's Public Render, Monthly Render, and The Inner Circle (Arson Tier above) renders!
Be sure to vote for your favorite girl, and we'll see both girls in action in a portrayal of their current relationship in The Arson Betrayal universe.
Seeing as this poll is available for everyone, any Patron on:

The last update had players missing out on one of Tiffany's scenes if they chose the Corruption Path, while for others, their game had an infinite loop problem due to the new game feature, which was unfortunately unfixable.
I reuploaded all the game files and a small update patch for those who already downloaded version 0.6.0.

Here it is, the codex! I just figured out how to use image buttons and other Ren'Py code to make it efficient and less janky
That's the reason why I didn't include it on the upcoming 0.6.4 bug fix (which I'm uploading now). What's the purpose of this? Well, aside from being a long-planned feature (since 0.2.0, that's Act I - Chapter 2!), this will help squeeze in a lot of information that the characters might already know, in order to lessen expositions in the story (having one character explain the entire concept of the serum would be boring).
It would also help players keep track of who they met, where they got to, and every info they got from the game so far. It's still W.I.P., and it'll be interactive, meaning info you miss from the game won't be shown, while a tally of info you do discover will be.
That's about it. I'mma get back to it now. Cheers!

Here's what the upcoming update will contain:
After this, Update 0.6.5 is scheduled to be released, which features the visual remake of Act I - Chapter II, along with several dialogue changes and extended scenes.
That's about it! Cheers.

"For when the wolves come, only the brave survive."
I already started in making progress for the general outline and storyboarding while I try to finish the reworked visuals for Act I - Chapter 2. I'll also be addressing a few plot problems to give players full control on who will be a part of the harem and who won't (Yeah, I'm looking at Jessica's first scene and Sydney's in Chapter 5. I now made it so players have an option to reject them when it comes to it.)
In the meantime, The Arson Betrayal Act II - Chapter 1 is now up for Early Access for Whistleblower Patrons, while it will be released for the Tourist Tier on February 15, 2023.
From there, it will be publicly released on February 20, 2023, so mark your calendars!
Cheers!

"For even without the gift of sight, she could see clearly more than others."
"After her father, the king's adviser, was wrongfully sentenced to death, the Blind Maiden took it to herself to get the justice he deserved. Wielding her weapon, an old longsword that belonged to her father, she soon finds herself being hounded mercilessly by the king's soldiers, and mercenaries from every corner of the kingdom, in order to retrieve from her one artifact that could change the destiny of the entire world.
Through it all, one peasant works tirelessly; plowing the fields day and night in order to save enough gold coins to afford him his own bakery. But one fateful encounter plunges him into the middle of a conspiracy filled with lies, betrayal, and violence."
Sound's familiar? Heh~ That's a reimagining of The Arson Betrayal if it was set in a dark fantasy-themed world. Was in the mood of creating something different, so here you guys go!

I'm currently working my way towards working on the rework for Chapter 2. Like the previous rework, I'll simply focus on the visual aspect of it and correct any typo/continuity errors along the way. The special scenes may be expanded, but all the important choices and stuff will remain the same, so no need to worry about your saves.
I'll probably try to make it on Feb. 20, in time for the Public Release, or anywhere near that date. Chapter 3 rework will then be worked on intermittently while I focus on Act II - Chapter 2.
That's probably it for tonight. Cheers!

"Papa? I c-can't shoot. The trigger's too hard!" says a young Alice, followed by an exasperated sigh. It was in the middle of autumn, just before the first snow falls. With Eastranch Beach located near the sea, a cold breeze can be felt, carrying with it the rustling of trees and the scent of saltwater in the horizon.
"Pull the trigger, and it shoots. The trigger will be hard to squeeze, meaning for someone like you, it'll be inaccurate but it'll do the job." Henry tells her calmly as he holds her hands and guides her through his instructions. "But if you pull the hammer back, it'll make the trigger lighter. It's a bit more work, but once you get used to it, it'll make your shots more accurate and precise. Now try it."
With her small frail arms, Alice lifts the heavy revolver with both her hands. Following her dad's instructions, she cocks the hammer back, and aims.
"This specific revolver fires a powerful round. You'll have to plant your feet on the ground and maintain your stance so you won't get knocked down."
With one deep breathe, and her eyes focused, she aims at the watermelon that was set up earlier a few meters back. As she squeezed the trigger, Alice's mind was sidetracked by the fact that pulling the trigger while the hammer was pulled back really did make the revolver easier to fire. However, this moment of distraction caused her legs to fail her, and the minute the gun fires and it's cylinder spins, Alice loses her balance and falls.
Alice chuckles in amazement on how powerful the recoil was. She looks up to her dad who then extends his hand to help her up.
"I told you to watch your stance, muffin."
"*Chuckle* I know, dad. But isn't it a little tiring to have to manually cock this thing every time I fire? Can't I just go 'boom' 'boom' when I want to?"
Henry kneels down and looks her straight in the eyes. He lips curl into a small smile, and tells her something that would change her outlook forever:
"Listen, muffin. This revolver in itself is a very important lesson. Guns aren't evil, but they are made to kill. God forbid, that a time comes when you have to use this to harm or end another person's life, this revolver will serve as a reminder."
He cups her hands and lays the revolver in her small palms.
"The more your life depends on it, the easier it to kill. It's easy to simply pull the trigger, while it's definitely harder to pull back the hammer each time. Still, that split second you have in doing so gives you a chance to ask yourself whether the trigger is the right decision. Because once you pull it, there's no going back."
Alice looks back into this fond memory often. Her dad's words were something she would never forget. It was those words that came into her mind the second she decided to shoot those cops at Pecker Street. She steeled her mind into what was to come, and as she pulled the trigger, it was as her dad said: 'there was no going back'.
And so, she had decided that she will never stop until justice is served... With those responsible either behind bars, or six feet under.

"I want to be a doctor!" exclaimed a young Heather when asked by her grandfather on what she wanted to be when she grew up.
Looking back, it was simply out of curiosity. Aside from Nana Willow, the old vet down the road, there was no one Heather could've looked up to; one whom people could say became her inspiration in the small town of Cape Condor.
Still, at such a young age, Heather was passionate about this dream of hers. Whether she even knew what a doctor was during that time? No one knows.
She studied to the best of her abilities, but such small towns have limits. It was time for her to expand her horizons and seek a much better avenue to further her abilities and skill. Being admitted to Ablesmith Academy was a huge leap for this country girl. It was where she saw that even though she was the best in her town, the world was simply a much larger place, and the inevitable truth? There will always be someone who's better.
For years, Heather struggled to adjust to the way the city works. Her once passionate flame was now nothing more than a flicker, desperately doing its best not to burn out completely. The stresses of the city worn her down, and she started considering heading back to Cape Condor for good.
Through it all, she met a friend who helped her and supported her along the way. A friend who made her realize that she doesn't have to be what everyone expects her to be, since she's already who she was meant to be. A friend who made her realize that despite the fact that there are bigger fish out in the sea, it doesn't mean we're helpless and powerless against them... For the biggest flames start of with a single spark.
Today, after a horrible twist of events that unfolded, Heather finds herself back to where it all began. The demons she spent years to get rid off were now replaced with demons that hounded her with every step she took. Memories that haunted her for her choices which led to countless deaths, and which will lead to countless more. Her passion, despite the countless trials she faced, now burns brighter than ever.
But like every flame unattended, it all still ends with ashes and dust.

Daughter of the Mayor of Ablesmith, Captain of the Ablesmith Academy's Cheer Squad, and to top it all off, a reputation that precedes nepotism and social classes.
Despite all these, a lot of people are surprised to hear that Sydney's well-reserved and always keeps to herself and her small circle of friends.
Since she was a kid, she was brought up under a rather strict household. She was raised with poise and dignity, as if everything she is and will be was already prepared for her on a silver platter. Her life, as one may see it, seems to be lifted straight from the pages of fairy tales and princesses. All these resulted into her being a spoiled brat... That is, until she was slapped back to reality by a certain black-haired girl, whom she calls 'glasses', which eventually became one of her closest friends.
Still, this hasn't stopped her curiosity in the average lives of other girls. All her life, she's wondered what it meant to wake up without the burden of her family name on her shoulders, and what it might feel to be a simple girl... To enjoy her life with her friends, to eventually fall in love, and live a simple life.
In her pursuit of this, she's taken advantage of the freedom she was given when she entered the Academy as a college freshman, and took it as a means to be liberated from her templated life. She shares everything with her friends, and luckily for her, they value their friendship more than material things, so she was never taken advantage of.
Despite a rather traditional upbringing, whenever she sees someone in need, she never hesitates to help. Like her status, she views money as a burden, and she'd be glad to use it to make the lives of everyone around her better. After all, with Jessica and her other friends which can be counted by hand, she's already got everything she needs.
Sydney's heart outgrew the spoiled princess she once was and was replaced by the most generous person anyone could be. She became someone who believes that material things are only catalysts to make lives better. Neither social standing nor money would make anyone happy in the long run, but they certainly help get us to where our happiness is.
Although, even the most selfless of humans have something, or someone, they'd selfishly keep for themselves.

Jessica's always been the center of attention... But ultimately for the wrong reasons.
Naturally gifted with intelligence and beauty, she's always been admired by both her professors and classmates. These, along with her cheerful personality, would've instantly made her popular regardless of whether she wanted to be or not. However, all the eyes gravitating towards her weren't only due to admiration. Some were ridden with envy and malice.
Other girls often enviously steered away from Jessica and often made rumors about her which led her to spend most of her time in school alone. Not by will nor choice, but by force. On the other side of this spectrum, guys who also hear such rumors make advances towards her, simply because they heard from some girls that Jessica would be willing to lay it all bare for a buck or two.
Thinking she finally got a second chance in life; a clean slate, so to say, when she entered Ablesmith Academy, Jessica once again spread her wings and did her best in her studies in pursuit of her dream to become a journalist.
She eventually caught the attention of one of the popular guys in her school, which led to a rather envious upperclassman to tarnish her reputation by spreading that the reason she got good grades was that she was sleeping with one of their professors.
Caught in the loop once again, Jessica retreated back to her former shell, as everyone looked down on her; judging her things that never happened in the first place.
Wherever Jessica was, she was harassed: girls, bullying her by ruining her locker and writing stuff about her in the bathroom walls, or even as worse as ruining her self-esteem by calling her fat and ugly; guys, who often called her a slut, with an inappropriate glance here and occasional grope there; the school administration, who decided it would ruin the Academy if these rumors came out about professors handing out great marks in exchange of sexual favors.
With her self-image and once cheerful personality in shambles, she came to have an interest in hoodies and sweaters... Both as a way to hide her body that she came to despise, and to hide her face from anyone who might recognize her from said rumors.
It wasn't until Sydney, who saw Jessica crying in one of the bathroom stalls, decided to intervene.
In a span of one week, the rumors suddenly died down. Anyone who was involved in the lie that ruined her life disappeared, and no one has a single clue on how or why. But every trace they left; every mark was etched forever in Jessica's heart.
Yet in the ashes of her broken soul, she found someone she can finally call 'friend'.

While others may see it as an ordinary disposable lighter, Luna sees it as a last memento left behind by her father after his untimely demise.
It was midnight when Luna and her mom received the call that her dad, Nigel, was shot dead while responding to an active shooter that very same night.
By the time they got to the coroner's office, what awaited them was her father's cold, dead corpse, devoid of any color except that of a shade of purple, and a pouch with all his belongings: his wallet, an old flip-phone, a box of cigarettes, and a disposable lighter.
Carrying it with her at all times, Luna seemingly developed sentiment for it, especially since she always saw how her father loved to smoke to relieve stress after a long day at work, despite her mother always scolding him to 'put it out' and 'not inside to smoke the house'.
As days and weeks turned to years, Luna eventually came into the habit as well, smoking whenever she had time. Whenever the lighter was starting to run low, Luna refilled it herself instead of buying a new one. Whenever someone wanted to borrow it, she always made sure that they'd return it. Whenever she was bored, or felt that she was alone, she sometimes just lit it up and stared at the flames as it flickers; turning away the shadows that was trying to creep up into her mind slowly.
It's warmth, though not enough to drive away the long, cold nights Luna has to endure while patrolling through the streets of Ablesmith City, still serves as a reminder on why she took up the badge in the first place.
As Ablesmith City lost one of it's undaunting defenders the night her father was killed, another one was forged by the light of something as simple and mundane as a lighter.
And so at the end of the day, she became the light to guide others out of darkness.
