Audio Help Dao 1 - Chapter 14

Dao audio is coming along, I'm getting chapter by chapter updates and proofing them as the narrator goes. I had a proofer listen to this and they say they hear a playback or an echo in the file, I don't hear said issue.

Wondering if I could borrow some of your ears to listen to a few minutes of this file and get some additional help with it?

The proofer said they could hear the playback between lines throughout the first 5 minutes of the audio.

Monstrous Horizons Chapter 24

Time was a little hard to judge as I stepped out of Svet’s home with Bubbles in tow. Without the sun, I wasn’t quite sure if I’d been down there for hours or days with Bubbles. Now the long trek through the cavern alongside the underground river seemed like a tedious eternity.

She had been stuck to my hip since we left. Literally, a second body had become a pair of oddly comfortable pants for me and there was a little tether connecting us. The rest of the second bodies had absorbe...

Strained grunting was about the limit of my participation as Bubbles drew my cock into her gelatinous body and effervescence pleasure wrapped around it.

Her control of her body was amazing, and every inch of me received just the right amount of pressure.

Bubbles flowed up me till she was centered on my chest then the real fun began as she pumped me like a 2 dollar whore wanting to get it over with.

Or at least how I always imagined that sort of interaction going.

Monstrous Horizons Chapter 22

I walked along the edge of the underground river, Bubbles, as I’d come to name the pink slime that reminded me of soap bubbles from some overly feminine bath bomb I had totally not tried.

Okay, that was a lie.

But Bubbles was a pink bubbly slime, and it fit.

Since the siren or whatever Svet had been, left I hadn’t seen another living thing.

I kicked a rock, and it bounced several times before splashing in the river. The entire cavern echoed with the sound, because ...

Mana 4 Chapter 32 - END

It had been two days since the destruction of the Ying family. Everyone who had lived there had cast aside the name and their embroidered shirts, leaving them in a large pile and burning them on site.

I was surprised how easily they all abandoned the Ying family after the death of the patriarch. Although the family had been in decline for a while. No doubt they had already considered leaving, and the patriarch dying was the final nail in the coffin.

With their bloodline largely go...

“Why do you protect them? They have betrayal in their blood.”

I ignored the patriarch's nonsense. “I’d like to know your name before we fight.”

“Gei Ying. Are you the man that killed my son?” He narrowed his eyes as he jumped off the house and landed ramrod straight fifty paces before me.

“Your son had me ambushed in the mountains. He had me weakened. A sword ran through my gut, another through my leg. He wasn’t willing to fight me at my full strength, yet ...

Mana 4 Chapter 30

The single speck of light formed a thin coil of lightning, which spooled out, filling the swirls of the tribulation cloud.

The small bolt of lightning was far smaller than anything I’d experienced, yet it glowed with such power that it could light the world as if it were noon.

A bright pillar of light surrounded my four mana beasts and I as they sat cross-legged around me like the points of a compass.

“Uh… Master?” Aurora looked ragged. Her wings were worn, missing a...

It didn’t take long to reach the first foothill and clear our way to the top. But I had a feeling it would take a bit to set up all the enchantment.

I wasn’t a master at enchantments, but I had dabbled enough to get the idea. For this one, I was going to do something I’d never heard of before, but the idea made sense in my mind.

Rather than summon lightning and push the world, I was going to steal the space of the world I was in at that moment.

Similar to how I had pus...

“Back so soon?” Madam Orchid looked up from her desk. “I could have sworn I just set you free.”

I let out a heavy sigh. “Me too. But I realized I have a business opportunity that I need to discuss with you.”

The girls had consolidated all the spoils into my spatial ring. Guo Ying’s ring had been quite large, and I needed to handle this one so that they could all take care of their own tasks.

Despite all the visits Wenxi had made to the pavilion, she actually ha...

Hello everyone, it's time again for an update.

I just wrapped up Mana 4 with 32 chapters, did my final editing push and got it out to my editor. So, it’s queued up on Patreon for a chapter a day to finish it out for you guys.

Normally, I’m more like 10-15 chapters ahead of patreon when I do the final push. I lost a little ground with the wee one. The stress around him coming, however, was far worse than any disruption he’s actually causing now that he’s here.

Walking out of the Orchid Pavilion, I could have sworn the air tasted fresher.

I grabbed Rachel by the hips and pulled her along as I wound my way through the streets. “So, you never told me what your life was like before the pavilion.” The Madam and her interaction spoke of a closeness I hadn’t expected.

She blinked and looked lost in thought for a moment. “I’ll tell you, but then I want to hear your story. After that talk with Madam Orchid, I suddenly realize that I do...

“I see you’ve had your fun.” Kat came out from the bushes. “Took you long enough.”

Slipping on my robes, I looked over at four very satisfied mana beasts. “They make it fun.”

“They do.” Kat’s eyes roved over them. “But I think we need to get back before too long. The gates are already heavily guarded; no one is being allowed out of the city.”

“Already?” I asked. I was surprised the Ying family had been able to move so quickly.

I flew forward, aiming to even the odds as quickly as possible. After all, even in the auction house, we were liable to start attracting attention with the display of power we were putting out.

Arriving in front of the spearman, I caught his thrust as the blades of wind tore into the shoulders of my robe. But it failed to penetrate my metal mana and my body, which felt firmer than steel right now.

My other hand grabbed him by his throat and whirled around, using him as a shield ag...

I turned towards the new voice, swirling my mana within me, preparing for the attack. When I saw who it was, I smiled. I was prepared to take down anybody I found in the auction house, but taking down the man who had hit me upside the head for talking was going to feel way better.

Feeling a bit of a battle high, I responded, “Was that rhetorical? You’re not much of a guard if you can’t figure out that I’m here to rob you.”

The powerfully built guard paused and gave me a ...

Running my hands through my hair, I looked at the satisfied puddle that was Kat, now hanging limply from her chains.

“That’s all?” I asked, feeling like we’d finished the interrogation.

“Everything, I swear.” She pleaded groggily, her eyes shining with the aftereffects of her release.

Lumi’s fingers crackled with electricity. “Should I?”

“Water.” Kat said, and I deflated from my domineering act, putting everything aside and practically ripping her...

Sitting next to Wenxi, as casual as could be, was Kat. She had a veil covering her face, but there was no mistaking her bright red hair, nor the mirth in her eyes at my reaction. I pushed all my feelings down and relaxed my face as Wenxi was focusing on which plate to take.

“You can take more than one if you want.” I offered.

“Thank you. Then I’ll take these three.” Wenxi cut her indecision and snagged three plates, putting them on a stand next to her. “Can you join me...

The next week went by in a blur. Rachel was progressing slowly on incorporating the forms into practice, but on the third day we moved to slow sparring.

I would attack, pausing part way through and let her find the correct move to counter. Then I would complete the attack.

Though it might sound slow, in reality it was a fast cadence to the attack. I would only pause for a moment if she fumbled.

This meant we were still on defensive work and she had yet to start putting the f...

Breakfast service was relatively boring. Men came and went, their eyes straying deeper into the pavilion, hoping to get a glance at the lovely ladies within.

The ladies obliged in their own way, flitting to and from the pavilion all morning, living their lives and performing their own errands.

“I’m shocked. Two days and no fights.” Charles mocked me as I brought back a tray after clearing a table.

“Hey, the young master Ying picked that fight. I was content to just i...

I ended up spending the entire night sitting there comforting Lumi. The poor mana beast was simply lonely. She’d spent far too long alone on that mountain protecting a cabin that hadn’t been lived in for hundreds of years.

My heart went out to her for her dedication and loyalty to the previous owner. But she was my mana beast now, and I had little doubt that she’d come to fit in with the others in short order.

Slipping out, I set her head gently down on the pile of furs.

My soul palace was quiet as I sat up and enjoyed the tranquility for just a moment.

Things were coming together after the mess that was my arrival in the immortal world. I might still be cuffed, but things were improving.

I’d filled my fourth ring and gotten away with murder. Guo Ying’s spatial ring will help Kat make space for our family. Now it was time to turn to my progress.

The show started as I pulled a platter back from a group of young men on cushions. It was a little more subdued tonight, but that didn’t bother me one bit. In fact, it was nice to have a slower pace after the hectic journey I’d just come back from.

Rachel caught my attention as she danced out of the waterfall with a spin that sprayed water off of her in rings. It looked like a giant blooming flower of water. This continued until she was dry and fell to her knees in the center. A dra...

“Done?” I asked, watching the girls dispatch another group of beasts.

We’d spent the day and a half wandering the foothills and hunting mana beasts. We even had two 4th rank beasts to our name now. But I had told Kat to take both of them for when the girls came to the immortal world.

Mei stood up straight, her ears pivoting as she listened for more. “If there’s more, they are being very quiet.”

In the past, when I had accepted Aurora’s core as a child, she had gone as far as to suppress herself to keep from harming me. Quinn and Mei had given me their cores willingly.

But all three of them had simply joined their respective ring without fuss.

This was different.

My inner world was filled with thunder and lightning as the raiju actively fought being joined with me.

Pulled into a new area of my inner world, I paused and looked around. Everything was dark around me, except for nine glowing symbols.

One hung above all the others, and the raw power I could feel from it made me reach for it. But as I did, I hesitated. Something in my instincts said that it was almost too powerful, that touching it could lead to my death.

Stepping back, I tried to remember what my mother had told me. I knew she’d mentioned my family held tight control on their b...

Quinn, Mei, and Kat were poking at a small fire that Kat had built. Anxiety lit within me as I assessed the chance it would give away our location. But the fire was putting off almost no smoke, and in the cave, the light wouldn’t be much of a risk. I decided not to say anything.

But I knew that something had woken me up. Based on the way the girls were all braced around the fire, sitting stock still, whatever had awoken me had them concerned as well.
