Dao Divinity 2 Chapter 18

Dar worked at the granite foundations all afternoon, only pausing to meditate to restore his mana. He’d sat with with Amelia a few times, working with her to mediate together. She was able to pass on some of the techniques she used to get even closer to her dao. He’d also found that being closer to his dao had made meditating and restoring his mana easier.

But what had really surprised him was Amelia. Focused on helping him with his technique, she’d put aside some of the constant ...

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all are doing well in this very warm summer. I'm hiding indoors where it's cool. Much like my dogs, I'm made for the cold.

Dao Divinity 2 is now complete. I ended up rewriting a decent chunk of the ending. I often end up rewriting sections, which is why I work so far ahead of what's posted on Patreon.

I'm opening my beta reading team back up. Any patreon, regardless of tier, if you'd like to join the beta reader team the beta for DD2 starts next week....

Dao Divinity 2 Chapter 17

“Did you see Russ this morning?” Cherry chuckled as she, Dar, and Sasha walked away from the village just a little after dawn, headed for the forest.

“Yeah, I think he woke up most of the village as he went to town, trying to carve it out. We might have to ask him to chill out.” Dar shook his head. The gnoll had started on the log far before the sun rose, seeming to not hear any of the groans that were sent his way as a result.

Dar had a feeling Russ intended for it to be ...

Amelia was grinning ear to ear as Dar sat down. “Hunk, you really didn’t tell Mika yet?”

The spirit in question rolled her eyes. “He said he would at dinner; can you stop pushing him so much?” But Mika did turn to him with her most charming smile immediately afterwards saying, “But I’d love to know.”

“Hah, I thought it would be a surprise for everybody, but it makes sense Amelia figured it out from what she saw earlier. So, I’ve formed my first greater dao.” ...

Dar wiped the sweat from his brow and looked at the giant tree section sitting to the side of the central hearth. It had taken most of the village, and half the afternoon, to move it, and he was still amazed they’d managed to do it.

“What now?” Shelia asked.

“Now we start carving a boat out of it.” Dar stated simply, knowing it wouldn’t be an easy task. With only hand saws, axes and chisels, it was going to be a massive labor effort.

While the men went to begin g...

Trapped in the webs, Dar worked to keep himself from panicking. He needed to work his way out of the situation. The town and the world needed him, and if he was going to take down the devils, he needed to be able to handle this group of low level devils. This wasn’t where it all ended.

Relaxing his body, Dar worked to focus his mind. One thought floated to the top; he needed to reach his greater dao.

With adrenaline coursing through his veins, Dar forced himself to focus. He wor...

Dar groaned back to consciousness. “That feels good.” Sasha was working him to completion, and he groaned in release.

Sasha pulled off and licked her lips. “Morning. You slept in this morning, and I thought you deserved a nice wake up call.”

“Not sending Amber this time?” He teased, remembering the last time.

She playfully swat him. “No, I need to get as much of you as I can get before there’s more competition.”

“Jealous already?” He probed as he ...

Dar ended up stopping by his hut and letting Amber do just what she offered, which she seemed immensely pleased by tucking it away with an affectionate kiss.

He didn’t really want to show up for dinner, sporting that hard on, and he wasn’t sure if he was going to be able to get it to go away with his dinner companions. Especially not with Amelia egging him on as she had been.

Amber slid her dress back up over her shoulders. “I see you enjoyed them.”

“Thank you for protecting Shelia.” Rex said once they had gotten clear of the woods. The chittering of the spiders within hadn’t stopped, though. It sounded like there were many just past the tree line.

“No problem at all. We are all in this together.” Dar leaned against a tree and looked back at the forest to see if they would follow out of the forest.

“They won’t chase clear of the trees.” Rex offered.

“Well, earlier I was told they were too afraid of fir...

Dao Divinity 2 Chapter 10

“Like actual devils? Not a demon?” Dar wanted to confirm.

“Does that look like a demon?” Frank waved his ax at the Ettercap.

Dar didn’t want to admit that he still was learning all the differences, so he just took Frank’s word and focused on the issue at hand. Regardless of what it was, it was a danger to his village and did seem far more monstrous than any demon Dar had encountered.

The purple-skinned creature stood on two legs, with thin arms that ended in two ...

Dar blinked and realized he was once again inside his inner world. Overall, it stayed the same with every visit. But this time there was one new addition.

The orange tree sat in the center of the clearing. Cherry was walking excitedly around it, inspecting the new arrival.

“Are we going to plant this in here?” She asked.

“That was the plan.” Dar admitted.

He paused for a moment, trying to decide if he wanted to broach the subject with Cherry then or later, fina...

Bart held up a clay bowl as he sat down with a particular grin. “The kilns are up and running. Got a crew of gals keeping them furnished with pottery.”

“Always good to hear about progress.” Dar smiled back, looking down at his own rough wooden bowl.

“The boys are tripping over themselves to play with an enchanted kiln. Calling themselves wizards.”

The group chuckled at that. But Dar had been thinking about it during the day. They weren’t utilizing enchantments ...

“So, you just push this lever down.” Dar demonstrated the motion, and the runes inside the kiln wavered as heat distorted the air. “I thought variability would do better here than trying to fine tune just the right amount of heat.”

Bart scratched his chin, nodding. “Trial and error will then be on my guys. It’ll take us a bit to get the right heat to fire the pottery and limestone, but at least we won’t have to call you over to make adjustments. I think the men will love i...

Dar had spent more time with Sasha than he’d planned on, but every moment had been incredible. By the time Sasha had rolled over, curling up next to him with a soft smile on her face, the daytime celebration had wound down and people were enjoying dinner by the communal hearth.

As he walked over, Dar saw the group of leaders sitting together, waiting for him.

“Hello. I’m assuming we didn’t get much done today?” Dar sat down to get the update first. He could go grab food ...

Dar stepped within sight of the village and the demons and spirits exploded in applause, hooting and hollering as he came back with the demon.

“Put her down.” Sasha came forward and Dar did, though he was ready to take her out if she attacked Sasha.

He noticed Sasha was ready too, her ribbons peeking out of her dress in case she needed to defend and protect herself. Though Sasha wasn’t a natural fighter; she’d proven she could step up when needed, but softness didn’t len...

Hi Again!

Things are still running smoothly on the writing front. I just had a trip with the family and I’m still ahead of schedule for DD2. I think it’ll only get better as I’m starting to dabble into the intros of books ahead of time now. Helping flesh out and mature some of the ideas before I really put the book under my focus.

I’ve been struggling with Mana 4, rewrote the intro several times but I think I’m on track for it now. I needed to parse back the harem a litt...

Beatrix got over her surprise, and I could see the smile under her veil. “I’ll be the best little snek you could ever could ever hope to have.”

“Then it looks like we both won in some ways.” I bent down and cupped her huge chest, pulling a nipple up for me to lick and nibble on.

She squirmed underneath me, her tail flailing and eventually coming up to hesitantly touch my waist.

Setting Russ down, Dar was nearly pushed aside as Russ’ women circled the table defensively and wouldn’t let Sasha approach.

“Cut it out.” Dar growled. “Now isn’t the time for this. Let her get to him.”

They stepped off the wild trail and onto a path that had been worn down in the few days they’d travelled it.

Up ahead, the village sprawled out, a collection of small huts nestled up against the stone cliffs and following the new palisade wall out from the cliffs. A few caves in the cliffs were enclosed by the partially complete palisade wall, but no one had taken up residence in them.

Dar and Bart had been having men dig out stone so they could build some more fortified structu...

Housing had been their most immediate need. Cherry had take...

The crowd parted again and four lamia came in carrying a palanquin with a bunyip lounging underneath a sheer canopy.

“Get out. The match is about to start. Bets are already being placed.”

“That’s fine.” The bunyip came fully into view. Her face below the eyes was covered by a veil, but when she snapped out a fan to blow away the desert heat, I could see a wide smile on her face. “...
